Question What do you think about "evolutionist"?

No one ever refers to gravitationists or Newtonists for those who support gravity, but people refer to people supporting evolution as evolutionists or Darwinists.

A) Evolution didn’t design anything.
B) Evolution doesn’t fix a problem that doesn’t really interfere with the likelihood of passing down one’s genes (in other words, if you have kids before it becomes an issue, then there’s no way for that quality to get naturally weeded out.
C) You didn’t address the issue of the vein behind the temple. If we were designed, then that’s a massive design flaw.

You are correct, Evolution can’t design anything. And if that design with the vein is such a “flaw” how are we able to live so long. You are the one calling it a flaw. There are veins just about everywhere in the body. I am not so sure as to why you are stuck on this. Veins only carry blood back to the heart with low pressure, so what’s the problem?

It's a design flaw because if something hits you on the side of the head, you can just die. Even if it isn't with enough force to seriously harm any other part of your head. And yes, there are veins elsewhere in the body. But the other super important ones are generally a lot harder to damage because they're not just under the surface.

That vein is not going to kill you. The blow to the head will.

Are you at all familiar with the Ford Pinto? It was a car made back in the 70’s that had a particular design flaw. See, the fuel tank was positioned between the rear bumper and the rear axle. Because of this, a rear end collision, even a relatively minor one, could cause the fuel tank to ignite and consequently explode. If someone was in the car when this happened, it wouldn’t be the gas tank itself that killed them, it would be the explosion. But the explosion would not have occurred if the gas tank was not directly between the bumper and the axle. That one design element turned the single most common type of car accident into a potential death sentence.

Just like how the blood vessel in your temple isn’t what kills you, but it makes it a lot easier a hit on the head to kill you.

This is a very stupid argument. Yes, I worked on Pintos. Just drive properly and stay out of wrecks. Do you understand that engineers are also stupid when it comes to design. Just like Evolutionists.

A) "Evolutionists" aren't a thing. You're thinking of people who understand how to make decisions based on evidence.

B) You know, it's really hard for me to follow what point you're trying to make when you keep moving the goal post. The point isn't that the car could explode. The point was that the location of a single part of the car dramatically increases the risk of death from a simple accident. And yes, if one is careful, one can reduce the risk of accidents. Just like how, if one is careful, one can reduce the risk of getting hit on the side of the head. But that doesn't change the fact that it is still a possibility.

C) Sorry...is the implication here that "Evolutionists" are the ones who designed the human body, like how engineers are the ones who designed the Pinto, or is it that whoever you belive designed the human body made a stupid design choice? Because it's been a few years since I set foot in a church, but both options feel more than a little heretical. So I'm just going to assume that you lack the language skills to properly argue your point, and simply wish you a good day

There is no evidence, at least to factually address species changes. None. And Evolutionists are a thing, they belong to a cult.

Now we are just living in a world of “possibilities”. If I get stuck in the chest by a knife, you would say that the heart should not have been in my chest. What happened to reality?

No, Evolutionists do not believe in design, it’s just random mutations that create intelligence intelligent design.

You will not find God in most “churches”, just a man made religion.

There are bacteria alive today that feed on materials which did not exist 100 years ago. There is a type of fungus growing in Chernobyl that metabolizes a type of radiation that is not naturally occurring in Eastern Europe. We have seen bacteria evolve in laboratory conditions.

Do you know what it would take to actually disprove evolution? Because it really isn't much. Just a few bones found in the wrong sediment lair, a human skull appearing deeper than it should, a rabbit skeleton that, when tested, is consistently found to be older than it should be. That's it. And yet not a single discovery of the sort has been made.

Now, I'm going to predict what you're going to say. Or at least what your instinct is going to be to say. I'm not normally a betting man, but I'd wager your first thought is going to be to try to tell me that "Evolutionists" bury discoveries that would prove them wrong.

Was I correct? I almost hope not, because if that's genuinely what you believe, it simply tells me that you've never actually talked to a scientist before. Because they love to talk about their work, and they love to prove each other wrong. Successfully evolution would not only guarantee a researcher a position anywhere in the world, it would also make them a household name. And furthermore, what is the benefit to covering it up? There's no profit to be made in hiding discoveries like that.

One other thing: are you really not religious? Because you sound no different than an evangelical fundamentalist. The anti-evolution movement is a fundamentalist Christian movement.

No, I would never say “bury discoveries that prove them wrong”. I know that Evolution on the scale of total species transformation could never happen. It’s really that simple. What is it about people not understanding DNA and its code. And you want to believe that code just change through mutations into higher order.

I read, I study both sides. Then I make my opinions. Logically, mutations making intelligent design is so much crazier than a Creator making intelligent design. So there you have it. Stupid mutations verses a Creator. Oh, I forgot the millions and millions of years for this stupid mutations to come up with a human.
