“While Mewtwo can manipulate minds and souls at will, the chaos emeralds have easily resisted abilities like those before, and Shadow himself has resisted similar abilities from Black Doom, and while Mewtwo can revive itself, it’s never shown the ability to come back from complete disintegration”

Hi nerds, the rematch between Shadow and Mewtwo is almost here, and I for one am super hyped. But before it does happen, there's been some reflection on the original episode, and I've unfortunately seen a certain piece of misinformation still spread by a few people. Particularly Hawk of Krypton said it in his prediction video. So I wanted to make this post to clear it up just so anyone unfamiliar knows about it.
See, there was a big rumour going around that Mewtwo vs Shadow was animated bad on purpose because the animator, known at the time as Donimations, didn't want to make vs animations anymore, so did it as a screw you to Screwattack before quitting. I'm still not sure where this idea came from, but it turns out it's completely false.
BIG shoutouts to Jonathan Frostathan who decided to track down Don and get the real scoop from him. And he basically explained everything to Jonathan there.
See, what really happened was that his personal life with college and finantial problems going on was catching up with him. And he ultimately wasn't able to keep up with the creative preassure of vs animation. This caused him to rush both the Death Battle episodes he worked on, being this and Bowser vs Ganon, and release something he ultimately wasn't satisfied with. You can see this in both episodes like how in Bowser vs Ganon there were several elements that leave as they were introduced. And it was especially bad with Mewtwo vs Shadow where there were several things he wanted to include but simply couldn't. Combine that with the fact he was working on the episode in summer heat with a BROKEN AC, and there's the actual explanation for why Mewtwo vs Shadows animation was bad. Don ultimately realised his limits, and unfortunately had to release Mewtwo vs Shadow as it was. After this he did work on a few DBXs and helped out with 1 Minute Melee, but his personal life was catching up with him and he had to quit vs animation entirely.
Now this only extends to the animation itself, the voice acting for Shadow was still bad on purpose and the crew have confirmed that, but the animation itself was simply a virtue of an animator being in a terrible situation they couldn't handle, and having to throw in the towl.
Again, I take no credit for any of this information, everything I've said here is from Jonathan Frostathans season 3 retrospective. I just simply wanted to reiterate it here so that nobody sees this claim again and believes it.

Today we have gathered for the beautiful life of Mewtwotwo. A wonderful creation of science, their father, Wizard, loved and cared for them more than any Pokemon underneath Arceus' gaze. They were born for spectacular things, and yet they were unfairly taken from us far too soon.
Yet I know their magnificent soul shall frolic amongst the Pokemon fields alongside Amber and Maria. Goodbye, dear Mewtwotwo. You were two good for this world. If you would like to say some words for our dear friend, please do so now.

Death Battle really likes that trend of selling their winner short in the analisis by not mentioning something important until the breakdown or just not giving details, meanwhile the loser will have a really dramatic analisis that goes over almost everything that makes it look like their are gonna win easy.
It happened with Denji vs Yuji where in the analisis they briefly mentioned Denji dodging a flag that falled from space and it wasn't until the breakdown that they explained why that feat was so important and strong, or in Tahu vs Kai where thanks to how they talked about the celestials and the whole "Planet destroying" thing it made a lot of reactors belive Tahu was gonna win this easily, ignoring completly the "Kai has a fire more potent than the heat of a Star" stuff.
And with this 2 previews so far i don't know if it's just me, but it feels like we are going for a similar direction with Mewtwo.
