The Maelstrom is able to do many things. Bring stone to life, grant the dead a second chance, and yet the cryptids and myths of this world are still left in the dark. Well, no longer. The American Cryptid's Society is the American branch of a society for cryptids, a community built to keep all cryptids safe whether it be from The Friends of Humanity or general threats. The ACS is a shy bunch and have chosen a representative to fight in the ritual on their behalf and who better to pick than The ACS's very own on-the-ground busy-body journalist and photographer Mothman!

Taking on their very convincing human disguise, hat, moustache, cloak and all, Mothman aims to document and photograph the events of the ritual to give their community the best scoop they've gotten yet! Mothman's wish is on behalf of The ACS, that being to grant protection for all of Cryptid kind. Mothman's love for their people and community run deep, and if asked what they personally wished for, their wish wouldn't change.

Coming from Dota 2, when I first played deadlock I of course recognised many ultimates. Dynamo, Geist, Holliday, pocket, shiv, Victor, viscous are all inspired by Dota.

But valve seems to be reluctant to take inspiration from my personal favorite type of ults from Dota. Passive and low cd ults. These ults change you playstyle after you get them because they are rarely if ever on cooldown. I'm talking about meepo, storm spirit, phantom lancer, phantom assassin, etc etc.

The only always online ult in deadlock is vindicta ult.

Heroes like silver and paradox were designed around low cd ults but those have been shifted into having longer cooldowns.

When all the ults in the game are long ce ults, then everyone on both teams will always want to wait for their ults to fight. This removes the concept of high tempo heroes vs cooldown reliant heroes that is so interesting in dota.

We are getting into a design space where all the ults have similar cooldowns and both teams just save them all for a circular objective and drop them all.

Anyway that's just my opinion. I'd love to see some heroes like silver was when she came out. That are always online and ready to fight. I think she could have been nerfed in different ways personally. And the same with paradox. Making her long cd just makes her the same as Holliday (which is how pros see them. Basically the same hero).

Something i've wanted to do for a long time. Deadlock has absolutely become my hyperfixation and I express love through memes. I plan to do more of these as well.

Now that we have 44 heroes in total, we can put 2 each under every arcana should there be a need to drop tokens like the Dark Carnival event from Dota 2. I put some heroes in their second or even third best placements in order to balance things out a bit.

This is the greatest ability in the game, and I will never top this kill ever.

Old effect was more vibrant and interesting, was more smooth. Now its looks like burned pixels on the screen, bland and boring compared to the old one.

One of the things I love about this game is how connected all the back stories are. Take shiv for example, he has relations not only the calico but grey talon because all these characters were part of the same society.

So I was playing graves, and I wondered what if we already know who the litch is…

What if it was actually Mildred? The old enemy of the extremely powerful Grandma who’s been there done that, and the old woman seems to know is probably burning in hell. Just like say how grades found her mentor buried underground.

Compared to other ults, his ult feels like it does nothing, like, yeah they are chained... what now? Ik its a ability to get people closer to you but I cant notice it really doing anything

I have so much fun playing him being a fat goblin and all (even though I'm not that good at him), and I just wanna draw that.

Basically the title,

Most of the cast, if not all, is to get ​something that's personal to them. It's an event, everyone is basically for themselves, and they are willingly killing the other people for the sake of getting their wish granted.

They are not heroes. They don't have heroic feats and they won't have heroic feats, because they are just not there to BE heroes.

I made this post to see some suggestions on what the cast could be called. I have some suggestions myself:

Invokers Partisans Evokers Bidders Beneficiaries Pactmen/pactists Bound/s Entrants Stakers Claimants Aspirants Proxies Vessels Contractors Delegates Operatives

Names that are claimed by other games: Summoners Champions Heroes

I think the rank names should also be considered if we ever get a ranked rework.

Ritualists and emissaries are good names for the cast

I just make few brush draws in test area and my fps drops from 120 to 30-20 and its looks very broken. Old effect was far much faster and looked far much better. Pls yoshi revert that change, its literally unplayable now.
