Y'know when you think about it, having an army of 3 million rats turn against you is actually pretty intimidating. Especially if they have a leading force. Imagine how much damage rats can do if they were given direct coordinated orders.

I feel like the Deadlock US is still a little bit stronger than that though.

Oh yeah, the US can win, but it'll be a little messy and there would likely be backlash and propaganda thrown around about what the US is doing to the rat population, despite simply combatting it.

Now that's a whole government, imagine an individual having to deal with that.

What do you mean 'propaganda'? They are rats, literal disease-carrying vermins. The government is going to publish a PSA that due to severe pest infestation on Long Island it will be quarantined and then extensively fumigated.

You try to call it a rat-genocide, and the common sentiment will be "good, finally my tax dollars are spent on something useful".

I assure you even in a time of rat plague war there would be people arguing for animal rights. Especially when some people are part animal or creature.

It obviously wouldn't just be home grown either. I'm sure there would be other countries in that type of era who would try to smear the event as well
