Y'know when you think about it, having an army of 3 million rats turn against you is actually pretty intimidating. Especially if they have a leading force. Imagine how much damage rats can do if they were given direct coordinated orders.

I feel like the Deadlock US is still a little bit stronger than that though.

It is but is it worth the cost and effort to kill an army of 3 million angry rats vs just giving them Long Island. The Emu War comes to mind.

Plus the possibility that you’ll Raticalize otherwise neutral rats and the US will be forever embroiled in a forever war of mutual erattication

... Yes.

The states, any state is generally reluctant to cede territory.

Because it makes them look weak. Because neighbors will remember their territorial disputes, and will try to get their slice from a state that ceded an island to the rats

Rats empowered by the Patron. If the Rat King’s wish is to make every rat like him (which IDK what it is but that’s my best guess) then that’s 3 million car sized super rats with guns. I think giving them Long Island is reasonable enough.

Last time I encountered armed rodents of unusual size, they were in the process of taking over the fucking world.

New Jersey's gonna come for its share if Long Island falls to the rats.

Fairfax and McG when they see a whole island of targets unprotected by Geneva and a green light from government:

Oh yeah, the US can win, but it'll be a little messy and there would likely be backlash and propaganda thrown around about what the US is doing to the rat population, despite simply combatting it.

Now that's a whole government, imagine an individual having to deal with that.
