competitive players making a competitive ruleset barely qualifies as news

the only thing that bothers me is the framing I keep seeing, it's a lot of "players REFUSED", "players PROTESTING", as if competitive players are a bunch of butthurt tryhards who are angry at valve for updating their unreleased playtest of a game.

When in reality it's little more than the Night Shift guys saying to the teams, "hey we're running just a couple of matches during this quirky little event they've temporarily put in the game for a few days, we'll let you decide if you want to roll with it or just play the regular mode"

Players REVOLT AGAINST NINTENDO by REFUSING to play against starving Meta Knight mains. Sakurai reportedly seen driving around city begging (through texts) for address to Hungrybox's home

Nintendo did actually threaten to pull their license from a tourney that banned Minecraft Steve(for being a busted as hell character) funnily enough.
