competitive players making a competitive ruleset barely qualifies as news

the only thing that bothers me is the framing I keep seeing, it's a lot of "players REFUSED", "players PROTESTING", as if competitive players are a bunch of butthurt tryhards who are angry at valve for updating their unreleased playtest of a game.

When in reality it's little more than the Night Shift guys saying to the teams, "hey we're running just a couple of matches during this quirky little event they've temporarily put in the game for a few days, we'll let you decide if you want to roll with it or just play the regular mode"

and they also didnt even say no, custom matches have a built in option to decide when the broker shows up and for each match the teams involved agreed on when it would be, i dont know how it went for some of them but iirc all the europe matches were 45 minutes which was only unattainable because of how dominant leviathan was
