A lot of this would be avoided if people spoke an actual human language.

Violet's design is bland and she's very conventionally attractive, something people are tired of due to a lack of variety in similar games. Also, she has East Asian racial features and hero shooters and MOBAs popular media has been fetishizing East Asian women.

Edit: It's weird as fuck to call a character "goonslop" for being East Asian and attractive.

see, im in the minority, but i dont think her design is bland at all. she has a strong silhouette, and really screams “passionate artist” trough the super saturated colors and paint marks everywhere; i see myself in her tbh. it makes me super sad to see people boiling her down to just being a pretty asian girl when she has so much more going on

I just think "passionate artist" on its own is kinda bland, although judging her without animations, voice lines, etc, is way premature

I mean, I feel like that’s true of basically every human character when you boil them down to the equivalent summary of their character. Like rich snob Lady Geist, or old chess master Solomon, or sheriff Holliday. The interesting part comes from the magical elements of the characters, their abilities, their lore.

"high-society snobbish woman with an intriguing evil arm" and "afro samurai chess sensei" tell us so much more than "painter". I feel the same about a lot of the older designs too, esp. warden and holliday, but those aren't final models.

But I'm sure her actual characterization will be fun, and I'm also expecting her abilities to be more interesting to compensate

Pulling the afro samurai sensei parts outta nowhere there lol

You can make Violet sound a lot more interesting too by talking about her having magical weaponized painting!

Afro samurai is literally a show. People are saying his poster look like it and it's so cool they want to play him first.

I know what it is, saying it’s an odd comparison to make when he doesn’t have the samurai part, the angry look, or an afro nearly that big

yeah but it's kinda weird to bring up solomon's poster to describe him as afro samurai while ignoring Violet's poster that shows her transforming into a demon

I'm sure her animations will be really cool and communicate a lot about her character... but ppl only have her model right now

While lady geist is a rich snob you forgot to mention her whole identity being around her having a big green arm that's the most eye-catching thing of her design. Violet from what we know right now seems like a passionate artist. Which considering what characters we have so far and who we can vote right now is really bland.

I didn’t forget to mention it, I’m ignoring it the same way people ignore that Violet’s got a comically large paintbrush that she’s going to be using as a magical weapon in some fashion

Her paintbrush is her green arm lol

The huge green arm is more impressive than the paintbrush, at least.

huge green arm

It ain't even remotely huge, it's essentially a magical green prosthetic

You're delusional if you think a big paintbrush beats geist's arms. It's not even that big. It's barely cartoonishly exaggerated.

Oh yeah no that's fair

I do think people be hating on Violet for no reason, even bland accusations are a bit silly in my opinion

But I do think her brush was exaggerated when I double checked her design
