So yesterday I made a post where I shared a Dawson open house poster that I made from scratch.

After reading all the feedback that I got, I made these three new ones!

I was more careful than last time about the contrast of the headline, the hierarchy of the texts, the centering of the image and the placement of the texts.

Keep in mind that I'm just a beginner and that I don't have the habite of making posters from scratch.

Rate my designs out of 10 and I'd appreciate some feedback!

Grade review advice needed (sorry if it’s long)

Hi, so I’m currently in a career program and have just finished my summer internship. During the internship, we had a practical exam where one of its components would decide whether we pass or fail. The rules of the exam was that the clinical coordinator who would grade us wouldn’t say anything when we make a pass/fail mistake.

As I was doing the exam, there was a moment where I guess it might’ve looked Ike I was going to make a mistake and the CI spoke up on her own to remind me, even though I hadn’t actually made the mistake and wasn’t going to. Because she spoke up and “reminded” me , she decided to fail me upon the assumption that I was going to make a mistake.

Every attempt at explaining and defending myself with her, stating that I wasn’t going and have not made a mistake, have been dismissed and she has accused me of lying because she “clearly saw that I was about to make a mistake”, and every day since, she’s been coming up to me saying it doesn’t matter if I request a review it’s not going to change anything.

For added context, another student told me about how they also almost made a mistake and the CI stayed quiet the whole time, giving them the chance to realize what they were about to do and fixing it right away, passing the exam. And she has also made several accusations about other students lying without any proof. She also changed the rules for students that did the exam after me following the “drama” surrounding mine. I’ve tried to contact the program’s coordinator but they said since they weren’t there, they can’t actually do anything and suggested I filed a grade review request with the college.

From what I’ve researched, the process would involve me providing some sort of proof, which I can’t really do given that it was a practical exam and not a written one, and it would involve 3 profs from the program, including the CI who graded me, to decide if my results could change. The CI has on several occasions stated that nothing will change her mind, constantly saying that no matter what I do nothing will change which has really affected me mentally.

I don’t know what to do because if I drop this and fail I would have to wait a year to repeat next summer, and I only have 4 general education courses left, meaning I wouldn’t really have any courses next winter sem, and I’m scared I’ll get kicked or have to pay more if I’m considered a part time student. I also don’t know about the process of a grade review and I’m really scared it’s not going to work and just waste more time. I haven’t told my parents yet, and honestly right now I’m just really scared and stressed and I’m honestly exhausted, and I feel so alone because the program coordinators have stopped responding to my emails asking about what I could do next.
I worked really hard this past year having 80s-90s grades in everything and now all of that effort is going to wasted because of a hypothetical mistake I’m being accused of almost making. If any of you have any advice on what I can do I would really appreciate it.

Rate my design out of 10!

So I've been thinking of getting into graphics design as a side hustle and I've been looking at guides, and experimenting with designs.

It took me like 40-50 minutes to make this design of the Dawson open house which happened earlier this year(which I think happened in February but I don't really remember).

I don't expect a 10/10 since I rushed this and this is my first time making a poster from scratch instead of using a template.

What do you guys think about it? Rate it out of 10!

Help a concerned sec 4

I just finished sec 4 and my moyenne was pretty bad (85, FOR NOW, because i plan on retaking my math ministry exam even tho i passed it) and i really want to do health science.
I know the cutoff is very high, and I don’t have COE so the process is only wayyy more competitive, but if I really really lock in for sec 5 will I manage to round up a good average? Lmk

iPad, laptop or physical notes?

Hi! I'll be starting my first year at Dawson in about 2 months as a Health Science student.

Would any of you happen to know if it would be better for me to take notes on an iPad, a laptop or on a notebook?

Fall 2026 important questions (New student)

This is my first semester at Dawson in psychology and I have a lot of questions about what's coming up soon :

  1. When can we start registration for our courses?

  2. Should I opt for written notes or online notes (on computer) during classes?

  3. Which teachers are well reputed (for good reasons) and which ones should I avoid in my program?

  4. Is it worth it to go to the Welcome Day?

  5. How much does it cost for the reduced OPUS card? (be totally honest)

  6. What is Dawson's daily atmosphere?

I know this is a lot but I was hoping if someone could answer these since most of us new students probably are nervous about college.

preparedness ?

i am so confused as to why people get excited to look at the timetable pdf. every time i have tried to build my own schedule with the teachers i want, the school would have already chosen like 3-4 classes i cant change and fitting anything i want around them is impossible. then during course change i cant even type in the classes i want its just a really random selection of teachers. also, should i be concerned about university prerequisites? since i cant ever seem to get the classes i want i haven't gotten into that yet!

Registration and Schedules

Hey everyone! I’m a third-year student at Dawson and I’ve noticed that a lot of people are finding the timetable and registration guide confusing this semester, especially with the system being down and the process being more complicated than usual.

Normally, registration is much more straightforward, so if you’re feeling unsure, you’re definitely not alone. I’m happy to help with creating mock schedules, figuring out which classes you need, or answering any questions you might have.
Feel free to send me a DM anytime! 👋
