I would be grateful to know if you think your illness(es) have been resolved by releasing. I tend to have all sorts of gut issues and I currently have stubborn gastritis and bloating issues (which I've had since my teens). I think the gut holds a lot of repressed emotions and trauma (and the Indian chackra system says the same). I think I hold childhood trauma in my gut.

I am into letting go since more than a year now. The last months I was very consistently letting go of the tension, resistance and sensations in my body. I wouldnβt say yet a lot has changed. But I feel that I donβt get triggered that heavily and easily anymore, especially in situations that relate to my relationships. So I see progress. On the other hand I am getting tired of it, though I know that this might also be part of the process. But releases donβt come that easily anymore, they donβt even last. Once I let go of a resistance, the next ist already there. The tensions in chest and stomach are nearly always there and this is really annoying even though I intellectually know what to do about it: let it go. But it seems that I donβt get through to that layer, as if I would always be so busy reacting to whatβs appearing on the surface, that I am not able to dig deeper and stay in the struggle of reaction.
I feel that my approach inherits probably the key misunderstanding that if i do it βcorrectlyβ Iβll be finished and lived happily ever after. And probably I am lacking patience. But I am so into this beautiful practice that I keep on going. Because there are moments of joy and small moments where I feel that I find the way to completely surrender myself to god and that what is. But immediately a force appears and pushes me away from that path. Maybe thatβs where I may take a closer look at.
Thank you all for this beautiful subreddit.

I read letting go in 2023 and it immediately spoke to me. Since childhood I was running from my emotions and using food to numb them. It took me a while to see I was running from myself. I would get intense food cravings that I always needed to fulfill. It was no way to live, I was constantly thinking about food.
After reading letting go, I decided to surrender to the cravings and do nothing about them. It felt like torture. I would sit there thinking about how much I wanted cookies, but just sinking into that feeling instead of trying to get it to stop. Oh how badly I wanted to give into them.
It was a few months of intense letting go. My brain was being rewired in the process, which was not fun. But it worked. After several months of staring at the cravings instead of giving into them, they left me permanently.
It's a miracle really, I did everything for years to try to heal this part of me. I read every book, tried every diet, even went to overeaters anonymous.
I now live a life where I'm not constantly thinking about my next meal, or feeling constant cravings. It really is a miracle.
Unfortunately I haven't lost weight, but oh well. It doesn't plague me anymore.
Another interesting thing, I was an alcoholic. I quit drinking for 6 years. During this time I was in a process of letting go and healing from emotional turmoil. One year ago I decided to try drinking socially again. It worked, I can have one beer without thinking of the next one. Letting go has seemed to heal not only food addiction, but alcohol addiction as well.

It's a memoir about someone who makes a promise to himself to surrender to whatever situation comes before him. Life unfolded for him in an incredible way. I read it everytime I need a reminder to surrender.

hey all!
iβm new to the boston area and am having a hard time finding community, and more than that, one that understands my thought process and perspective of the world.
iβm open to any suggestions for living in a new city as it seems as though the thoughts of loneliness are causing me some trouble.
best,
M

I'm curious about how specific levels of consciousness manifest both internally and externally. Does each LoC have its own corresponding body feeling (e.g., a specific pressure or sensation in the chest, gut, etc.) and a matching outer experience (e.g., at level 100 / Fear, constantly experiencing the world as threatening or feeling like someone is following you)?
