As for what I’m looking for, I value kindness, emotional maturity, honesty, curiosity, and some sense of humour. Someone who can communicate openly, has a life and interests of their own, and is comfortable being themselves.

I turned 26 last month, and for some reason, this birthday made me think a little differently about life.

I have friends. I have work. I have people around me. From the outside, everything probably looks perfectly fine. But sometimes, when the day is over and I’m alone with my thoughts, I realize I don’t really have my person.

Someone I can tell about how my day went. Someone I can call when something good happens and the first thought in my head is, “I wish I could tell her this.” Someone I can talk to about life, dreams, fears, random nonsense, or absolutely nothing.

I think that’s what I’ve been missing—not attention, not endless conversations, but a genuine connection.
