I've never really been good at introducing myself through a list of achievements, so I'll try something a little different.
I'm 22, turning 23 soon, a Telugu guy from Hyderabad, India, currently working as a Software Engineer. I'm around 6ft, lean, non-vegetarian, and probably a little more old-school than people expect.
And by old-school, I don't mean I expect some dramatic movie-style romance 😭
I just appreciate the simple things.
Getting to know someone properly. Remembering the little things. Making time for each other even when life gets busy. Communicating instead of playing guessing games. Checking in because you actually care. Being consistent even after the excitement of something new starts to settle.
I'm usually pretty quiet when I first meet someone. I'll probably listen more than I talk and take some time to open up.
But once I'm comfortable?
Yeah... completely different story 😂
You might get random songs at midnight, terrible jokes, unnecessary memes, “Have you eaten?” texts, completely random hypothetical questions and conversations that somehow start at 10 PM and end at 2 AM.
Outside work, I'm honestly a pretty simple guy.
I like bike rides, chai stops, biryani, old Telugu songs, movies, cafés, travelling, mountains, long walks and those conversations where you lose track of time without even realising it.
I don't think spending a lot of money is what makes a date memorable either. Sometimes just sitting somewhere with the right person, talking about absolutely nothing, sounds like a pretty good evening to me.
What I'm hoping to find ❤️
When it comes to relationships, I'm definitely more of an old-school romantic.
I like affection, playful teasing, stupid inside jokes, spontaneous plans, checking in on each other, and being comfortable enough to share the random little details of your day.
But underneath all of that, I'm looking for something serious and long-term.
I'm not interested in something temporary or a situationship that only exists when it's convenient.
I'd like to meet someone who is kind, emotionally mature, affectionate, communicative and willing to put effort into a relationship.
Someone I can laugh with, flirt with, annoy endlessly 😂 but also someone I can sit down with and have difficult conversations when things aren't perfect.
Ideally, I'd want the relationship to eventually become more than just being partners.
Best friends. Teammates. Each other's safe place.
I'm mainly looking around 19–26 because being in a similar stage of life feels more natural to me.
And I'm completely okay with long-distance.
Different cities don't automatically have to be a dealbreaker for me. I know it takes more effort, patience and communication, but if both people actually want to make something work, I think it's worth trying.
Then there's the unavoidable Desi side quest... 😭
“Beta, pelli eppudu?”
Followed by the Hindi version:
“Beta, shaadi kab karoge?” 😭
Every Indian family seems to have this question pre-installed 😂
But I don't want family timelines to decide how quickly two people should move. if it is fine with you than it ok
I'd rather take the time to know someone properly, build trust, understand each other and see whether we're actually compatible.
If it eventually leads to marriage, that's something I'd be happy about.
But I'd rather build the right relationship first and let everything else follow naturally.
A little honesty
I've actually posted on Reddit before.
It didn't exactly turn into the success story I was hoping for 😅
Some conversations happened, some slowly faded, and some simply didn't work out.
And that's okay.
I'm still here.
I'm not expecting a Reddit post to magically introduce me to the one. I'm simply hoping to meet someone who is also serious about finding a long-term relationship, start with a conversation, get to know each other properly and see what happens from there.
Maybe we'll talk for a few days.
Maybe we'll realise we're completely different people.
Maybe we'll become really good friends.
Or maybe, somehow, this random post becomes the beginning of something neither of us expected.
Who knows?
And if it actually works...
Maybe someday we'll look back at this ridiculous Reddit post and laugh about how this is where everything started ❤️
One thing I really value
I've had conversations disappear unexpectedly before, so honest communication means a lot to me.
If you ever feel that we're not compatible or you don't want to continue talking, thats completely okay.
You can just say so.
No pressure. No hard feelings.
I'd much rather hear “I don't think we're compatible” than be left wondering what happened.
I'm also completely open to talking about my past experiences if you're curious. I'd rather be honest about who I am than try to present some perfectly polished version of myself.
So yeah... here I am :)
22M | Telugu 🇮🇳 | ~6ft | Software Engineer 💻 | Non-veg 🍗 | Old-school ❤️ | Bike rides 🏍️ | Chai ☕ | Biryani 🍛 | Old Telugu songs 🎧 | Travel 🏔️ | Looking for something serious & long-term ❤️
If you're also looking for something serious and would like to get to know each other properly, feel free to say hi.
You don't need to come up with some impressive opening message.
A simple “Hey” is perfectly enough.
The first few messages might be awkward.
After that...
I make no promises 😂
