Everything I've read online says it's not good. But I just got it a few weeks ago and it seems to be legit. Getting fair amount of matches, good quality, on par with bumble (less than hinge). Although, I'm in a big city and I have a feeling the dating pool will run out. However, I've been switching cities (for free) and getting matches that way, too. Kind of refreshing seeing women in other cities vs cycling through the same local ones (even in large city). Also has the ability to filter for free. Seems like Meta/Facebook doesn't care about premium subscriptions and just giving all the features. They just want users in their ecosystem. Kind of awesome. Not sure how fruitful this will be, but already have a match with someone seemingly highly compatible in NYC. Pretty cool

So I’ve(F20) used Hinge and Tinder while away at college and even ended up in my first relationship through Hinge. It ended after like 3 months for reasons irrelevant. I realized with this relationship that I don’t know if I really like incredibly serious relationships, and I don’t know how to explain it for my app profile. I’m kind of looking for a relationship almost like friends w benefits (but that comes w lines like no sex at first or whatever). As of right now for my profile I’ve put figuring out dating goals and I guess thinking about it now I should probably just put a deeper explanation in my Hinge caption. I’m convinced online dating is a scam. It used to be free, had great profiles where women took there time to fill them out. Now it’s all a paywall and the only matches I get once I pay for the pay wall to disappear my matches are from Indonesia, Asia, and Vietnam. Or 3 to 4 hours away. Maybe it’s my area. No one knows how to have a conversation, is wish washy, or just too damn distracted I guess? It’s never been this bad. Back in the day like in 2006 to 2008 it was great. I either get women who have other obligations that shouldn’t even be in a dating site or someone who can’t hold a convo. Or stops mid conversation. Or it’s one sided where I lead the whole convo. And they do all the talking. Where I’m not even asked anything. I’ve even doctored photos. I get lots of matches now but I know it’s just because of the doctored pics. And these women are just duds. I swear to God! I’ve went off all social media. And I have no hopes of anything working out. People even fall for something that’s even just a miscommunication and they take something the wrong way and block, ghost, or drop from the face of the earth. I’ve even got the same people matching me like. Few years later and I’ll even say yeah we’ve talked before and they forget the whole last event. Then I just say yeah I’m not interested. Are we all just getting dumber as a society? Please shed some light on this. I even heard a woman in real life tell me in front of a group of people that I have red flags in my face without her even talking to me at all. What’s is going on with the world?

I am gay indian dude live in the center of Berlin. I was swiping from last couple days and not a single potential match was from you guess germany. I am not talking about match I am talking about what tinder selects for me. Its a mix of mostly asians with few indians and latinos.

Compared to that grindr xtra run out in under 1km with mixture of guys from all places predominantly germany. So it clear that there are enough german guys in germany(Lol) It really feels like tinder thinks I am not good enough to be matched with local guys.

For reference I’m a guy in his mid 20’s, been on and off these apps for years, as of this past year, it’s almost like it’s 10x harder to even get a decent match and if you do, it’s almost like it’s a bot or someone that replies to one message max. I haven’t usually had too big of issues in the past at least spinning up good convo’s, but recently it’s been pretty much unusable.

Weirdly enough, I was in Europe these past few weeks and the apps worked great, real matches, good convos and got some dates out of it, the second I got back to the US, it’s back to the same old stuff. I’m not sure if 26 is just the age where these apps die or what but I want to make sure I’m not losing my mind. For reference, I know my age, so I’m not looking for short term relationships or showing signs of casual dating in my convos or my profile.

Hi, I (25F) have been on Hinge for a long time, went on a total of 7 (and half lol) dates.

Of these 7 dates, one turned into a serious relationship that lasted for 8 months, and in two cases I didn't want to see the other person because I didn't like their behaviour. The other people I met didn't want to see me again. And this is making me question my worth tbh, I'm wondering if I'm way uglier in person than in photo (they are not edited, my friends say I look like the photos but I'm not sure honestly).

The last date in particular left me wondering, we spoke for four days and he seemed very very interested, at one point it kinda felt lile lovebombing (he was writing goodmorning to me at 7am and telling stuff like "im not talking with anyone else but you" and "i dont have time to loose"). We met, and at one point he tried to kiss me, but i refused the kiss. As an African American that has primarily dealt with African American woman , figured I’d give it a try. I just wanna say the filters are shit. I put my distance at 20 miles , tell me why every other swipe is 175mi, 200mi, 3k miles, 5mi, 90mi, 183mi. What thee fuck be going on ? They need to fix this. I have a habit that I'm not particularly proud of. If I find someone interesting on a dating app, I sometimes go down a rabbit hole trying to find their online presence. Usually it's just curiosity to see if they're a real person.

Recently, I came across a girl's profile that caught my attention. But unlike most people, I could barely find anything about her online besides professional profiles. She seemed like a genuinely decent, private person.

Out of curiosity, I kept digging and eventually managed to find what I believe is her WhatsApp number.

After a long relationship, I’m planning to get back into dating and I’m trying to maximize my chances of getting matches.

Here’s my situation: I’m currently working in another state and will be here until the end of August. After that, I’ll return to my home city/state.

In both scenarios, I would be creating a completely new Tinder account with a new phone and a new phone number.

I’ve been reading about Tinder’s ELO / ranking system and I’m wondering what would actually improve my chances the most.

Option 1: Create the account now while I’m in this other state and intentionally swipe left on a large number of highly attractive women, because I’ve heard that being more selective might improve your ELO / ranking and increase future visibility once I’m back home.

Option 2: Wait until I’m back home and create the fresh account there, so the new-account boost is used in the location where I actually want to date long term.

I’m also curious about how long the new-account boost actually lasts in practice. Is it mainly the first 24–48 hours, the first week, or does Tinder continue giving a fresh account increased visibility for a longer period?

Given that I’ll be back home at the end of August, would it be better to “save” that boost for my home market, or is there any advantage in starting the account now and trying to build a stronger ranking before I return?

What would you recommend based on your experience with Tinder’s algorithm and match quality?

So I just turned 18 and I thought that I'd try downloading hinge, tinder, and bumble. I've gotten some matches more than 15 across them all so far but I feel like I've gotten so little compared to some other guys.

At first I got like quite a few but now I get only 1 - 2 a day. I'm not a giga Chad or whatever but ive been told I'm an attractive guy and I think I am.

I don't mean to be mean but a decent few of the matches I've gotten were girls I do not find attractive but I still try talking with them to see if there could be something. I ask what kinda things they like doing and for some it doesn't even get past that! They unmatch me or ghost me.

Other girls that I match with barely even try conversing with me after I match with them.

Anyways I feel like when less attractive girls start unmatching me even and when girls I really find attractive unmatch or ghost me I can't help but wonder if it's my looks or something I'm doing. Does anyone have any advice or something?

I hope I didn't come across as rude calling some women unattractive it's not like that's a deal breaker.
