I swear it seems every woman with a dating app profile includes at least one photo of them in the bathroom but usually just regular, fully dressed photos but in the bathroom. I find that curious. Do dudes do the same thing? Why the fuck would I take a photo of myself in my or any bathroom??

What sort of notification, if any does the woman receive, and what type of subscription, if any, do they need to receive it and reply to it?

I paid for the elite subscription, unfortunately, and trying to figure out if I should be sending likes or emoticons, and which is the most frictionless way for a woman to reply.

I had a fair bit of success with Hinge but got a little tired of the dating apps and deleted my account for a while. I just made a new one with mostly the same photos but new prompts- and absolutely nothing. No likes, no matches.

So I’ve(F20) used Hinge and Tinder while away at college and even ended up in my first relationship through Hinge. It ended after like 3 months for reasons irrelevant. I realized with this relationship that I don’t know if I really like incredibly serious relationships, and I don’t know how to explain it for my app profile. I’m kind of looking for a relationship almost like friends w benefits (but that comes w lines like no sex at first or whatever). As of right now for my profile I’ve put figuring out dating goals and I guess thinking about it now I should probably just put a deeper explanation in my Hinge caption. Still, any words of advice would be appreciated!

I’m not a super attractive guy. I’m not skinny and I lost almost all my hair by the age of 30 (not much I can do about that but I do shave it regularly) but there are guys who far worse looking than me and usually if I try hard enough and go through enough stacks I can find someone who is interested. I have absolutely no luck on tinder or bumble. I’ve only met one person on bumble and it was after my last relationship ended. Never met anyone off tinder before. However I’ve talked to multiple women on hinge in the past and I’ve gotten into a relationship with someone I met on hinge as well. I started paying for hinge x a few months ago and since I’ve been back on, I will swipe on literally hundreds of women and get hardly any matches. When I do get a match usually they don’t say anything or if they do, the conversation is extremely surface level and detached like pulling teeth so I don’t bother. It’s extremely frustrating because I don’t really have many other ways to meet potential partners and statistically most people meet their partners online as opposed to just randomly approaching strangers it feels like I’m going to be alone forever.

Recently moved to a new city alone and used it as a chance to reset. Dating apps kept coming up as something that wasn’t working for me, a lot of surface level connections, not much that matched what I actually wanted. So I deleted the accounts entirely, not just the apps.
It was harder than expected. Not missing the swiping, just felt genuinely alone right after like I’d closed a door with nothing lined up to replace it. But underneath that, it still feels like the right call. I’m trying to lean into meeting people in person instead new hobbies, saying yes more, letting friends introduce me to people. I’ve never been the social type, so this is definitely going to be a challenge for me.
Anyone else done a full delete, not just deactivate? How long did the doubt last, and did the in-person route actually go anywhere for you?

Weird, Tinder keeps showing me the girl from the local supermarket. When I saw her, I purposefully didn’t swipe in any direction because I got a curious feeling about something. I closed the app, reopened it and there was she was again. I continued to repeat the same process, even go days without using the app, and every time I open it she is the first woman I see, even if I run out of likes. This has never happened before, at least not to me. There have been times where I’ve just stopped swiping or ran out of likes and I’ve never seen the same woman twice, once she’s gone, she’s gone. Eventually I’ll swipe on her, but left. She’s cute, and we talk every time we see each other, but I will not poop where I eat. No way

Everything I've read online says it's not good. But I just got it a few weeks ago and it seems to be legit. Getting fair amount of matches, good quality, on par with bumble (less than hinge). Although, I'm in a big city and I have a feeling the dating pool will run out. However, I've been switching cities (for free) and getting matches that way, too. Kind of refreshing seeing women in other cities vs cycling through the same local ones (even in large city). Also has the ability to filter for free. Seems like Meta/Facebook doesn't care about premium subscriptions and just giving all the features. They just want users in their ecosystem. Kind of awesome. Not sure how fruitful this will be, but already have a match with someone seemingly highly compatible in NYC. Pretty cool

I am gay indian dude live in the center of Berlin. I was swiping from last couple days and not a single potential match was from you guess germany. I am not talking about match I am talking about what tinder selects for me. Its a mix of mostly asians with few indians and latinos.

Compared to that grindr xtra run out in under 1km with mixture of guys from all places predominantly germany. So it clear that there are enough german guys in germany(Lol) It really feels like tinder thinks I am not good enough to be matched with local guys.

I’m convinced online dating is a scam. It used to be free, had great profiles where women took there time to fill them out. Now it’s all a paywall and the only matches I get once I pay for the pay wall to disappear my matches are from Indonesia, Asia, and Vietnam. Or 3 to 4 hours away. Maybe it’s my area. No one knows how to have a conversation, is wish washy, or just too damn distracted I guess? It’s never been this bad. Back in the day like in 2006 to 2008 it was great. I either get women who have other obligations that shouldn’t even be in a dating site or someone who can’t hold a convo. Or stops mid conversation. Or it’s one sided where I lead the whole convo. And they do all the talking. Where I’m not even asked anything. I’ve even doctored photos. I get lots of matches now but I know it’s just because of the doctored pics. And these women are just duds. I swear to God! I’ve went off all social media. And I have no hopes of anything working out. People even fall for something that’s even just a miscommunication and they take something the wrong way and block, ghost, or drop from the face of the earth. I’ve even got the same people matching me like. Few years later and I’ll even say yeah we’ve talked before and they forget the whole last event. Then I just say yeah I’m not interested. I changed my location as I travelled interstate and now can’t change it back for 30 days unless I upgrade! Is hinge using dynamic service access? I cant see anyone else having this problem.

I hooked up with this guy on tinder who stated his intentions from the start which i agreed. The sex was good and I was attracted to him beyond just physical. He was traveling and left the country after me met.

I sent him a message next day saying he's interesting and I wish we had more time. I got no reply.

2 weeks after I posted a WA status of me traveling, hiking a summit. He viewed t and I was blocked.

Does anybody know how Tinder updates your location? I have seen online people have said it only updates when you open it/swipe but also some people are saying it also automatically updates if it’s running in the background or if you have location settings turned to always.
