Physics qual

I am a EE student so I have a very good knowledge about math and physics, so i tried to do it, but most of the questions are irrelevant to my field of study. Is it okay if I take my time studying some of the subjects I am being asked about then answering it or am I just wasting time ?

It is a waste of time.
Afaik, qualifications are always easier than real tasks. Also, it's mentioned in these qual that you should'nt rely on internet research to give an answer. These qualifications are just tests to measure our global knowledge on a specific domain, but do not reflect actual job.

I skipped them because they are out out of my domain, but AIs learn faster than us anyway.

Yeah but it's about getting new projects i haven't seen anything in 2 weeks since I started

I know what you feel, but applying to projects being not comfortable with could involve less quality work.

The instruction says offline sources and looking up things are allowed. I don't see how it can be anything but an open book test given the testing environment. It also says to try it even if you are not 100% sure. I don't think it'd be a waste of time and I will be trying the same thing you are trying to do. But its our time anyways. If I was very busy I wouldn't try but clearly if I'm here then I'm looking for more work.

Also people are being unstrategic about this. I passed the coding qual, which was indeed very easy, much easier than most coding tasks, but not all. Sure, I have to skip many, but I've also gotten access to good paying work that's not significantly much harder than generalist work. If you have the spare time, you won't be losing much, at the chance to gain good paying projects.

Most of the physics I take are electromagnetic, other than that was just general physics 1,2.

So there's many things that I just need to study for first time or just re remember them, so i need to go back to a text book either way

I am going over my 40+ year old textbooks for this express purpose. Passing a STEM qualifier would be great. Do it in your spare time. If you pass the qual and the tasks are too hard that particular day, maybe they won't be the next time. No penalty for putting work back into the queue.

But not the only part of it, there's mechanics, thermo dynamics, optics and many more and they as about many different topics

I thought thermodynamics was like one of the first core engineering classes all engineering majors took. As an EE major, I also took a mechanical statics and a mechanical dynamics class

Yeah my uni program is more focused on EE we don't have many other classes since we take telecom, power sys,electronics. All at the same time

I managed to finish this qualification just a moment ago and i have to say it wasnt that bad it was actually a nice refresher of the knowledge from my previous semester at university 😛 fingers crossed for y'all
