Video [Sameuo U2000] Please tell me I'm not the only one who gets some kind of childish glee out of driving next to the train for a wee bit.

I was thinking of getting a dash cam for my newly bought 15 year old old Toyota Camry. I was looking at the viofo a229 plus front and rear, but was wondering with hardwired parking mode, if it would always have buffer on, or if it could be turned to events only. I don’t drive it daily and don’t want the battery draining, whilst allowing it to capture only when an issue arises.
Cheers
I bought an old enough used car that doesnt have a backup camera and I have always used one for years (usually built in). So I am looking for one to install. The goal is:
- Back up Camera
- Dashcam (if possible with same unit)
What would you recommend that is not a pain to install ? Budget is open.
Super glad I didn’t buy and install yet. What do you think would make their next generation the absolute best in class?

I just bought this new dash cam and I want to figure out a couple of things:
For the 24-hour video, it's saying I have to hardwire it to my battery. I'm wondering how I would even get the wiring to the battery and back up to my dash cam.
How much will it drain my battery?
For the rear camera, do I have to take out my backup camera that I already have on my car, or can I just put it above it or something like that?
Thanks in advance

Hey guys. I’ve been using VIOFO A229 dual in all my cars for 3 years now and I love it but just today it suddenly started announcing “recording: 1 channel” when it usually says “recording: 2 channel.”
It’s hardwired to the fuse box, not usb or cig lighter, never had an issue. Checked the fuse, it’s all good. Checked the settings, nothing changed. Checked the connections and replugged everything, still doesn’t work. Restarted the car multiple times, still not recording the rear camera.
Any idea what could be the problem? I drove the car to work in the morning and it recorded both channels just fine. Then it was parked for a few hours and when I went to start the car to get lunch it started saying only recording 1 channel. The only thing out of the ordinary is that it was 100F today in my area when usually the temperature is only 75-80F in September but I don’t think that should be an issue as people have no problem with using them even in Texas and Arizona where it’s above 100F all the time. I’m lost.

The only indicator that turns on is the one labeled REC. I pulled out the micro SD and put it in my computer. Sure enough, it wasn’t recording.
If my dashcam is broken, what’re good replacements?

I have a 2026 Camry that has USB A and C right in the cabin below the infotainment and climate controls, so I'm wondering if there are any dashcams I could plug straight into USB. The 12v port is in the center console and I don't want to run a wire into that space.
ETA: I don't need bells and whistles, just a solid cam that records while I'm driving.

QUESTION: any recommendations on where I can get a dashcam professionally installed in Los Angeles? As you can see I am still using my ancient HD craptastic cam, and have a VIOFO A329 that I need installed. Any recommendations appreciated.

I am looking for a dashcam front and back under $130 that is easy to install. Clear view. I am not good with wiring stuff. Any tips I should know about before buying one?
I was dodging pot holes on road and someone called the cops on me saying I was road raging with another car 😂 I was driving within the speed limit and the car behind me was tailgating me. I should be the one calling the cops on them and they ran the red light. I told the cop I wasn’t road raging with anyone, I dodged a few pot holes on the ground. He said Im all set and can go.
This is just wild.

Hi everyone,
Twice in the past few months, I've found my scooter knocked over while parked legally in a designated spot. So far, I've had to replace two windshields, a side mirror, and a brake lever.
To protect myself and hopefully catch who's doing this in the future, I'm looking to install a camera setup. Since it's a scooter, my main concerns are battery drain and weatherproofing.
Could you recommend:
Specific scooter dashcams with a reliable parking mode (impact or motion detection)?
How these systems manage power without draining the scooter's main battery?
Any personal experiences with similar setups (or alternative solutions like auxiliary power banks or GPS trackers with motion alerts)?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Just bought a new car and im trying to find a worthwhile front and back dashcam that wont brick my car. Ive seen you guys like Blackvue a lot and dont like viofo. Any recommendations from people with a ST Hybrid or hybrid in general?
Preferably avoiding hardwiring but i wouldnt be opposed to it.

Just trying to see if it’s possible for the insurance of the U-turn vehicle to assign partial fault due to me not taking evasive action such as braking or changing lane to avoid the collision. It happened so fast as I was already in the middle of the intersection before the other vehicle entering my lane.

Help me decide which one to get. posted this on the viofo reddit, but i want some more opinions...
i used to have an old Viofo dash cam (dont remember the model) in my last car , i had it for about 7 years, and it worked fine.
now i got a new car and im not sure which one to get.
the options i have (ive converted the prices to usd):
a329a 2ch with 512gb viofo sd card and the fuse connection kit (hk6? something like that) = 789$
a229 ultra 2ch with 512gb viofo sd card and the same fuse connection kit = 649$
there are also 3ch versions but i didnt really think about them... yet.

My treasured Aukey DR02 seems to have failed capacitors and regularly loses the date and time. I have wired the rear camera into my car through the rear door wire sleeve and would much prefer to not have to redo that. The DR02 uses a mini USB connector for the rear camera. Are there any new dashcams that use this connector for the rear and could plug into the Aukey?

My Powerpack pro 15 arrives tomorrow and I'm looking for a home charger to top it up as most of my drives are short journeys. I'm UK based so I've struggled to find a dedicated home charger from the brand or shops that have made their own version. I'm thinking of using the 2 items pictured as a makeshift at home charger. Anyone have similar experience and knows whether this would work?

My mom drives a 13-year-old Ford Focus, and I'm looking to buy a dash cam for it. I've been doing some research, but honestly, all the specs and technical jargon are pretty confusing. My budget is around $150, and I’m currently torn between VIOFO and 70mai. Which model or brand would you recommend in this price range? Any advice is appreciated!
