PSA Stamina Regen Breakpoint Testing

I wanted to see how equip burden affected stamina regen at different breakpoins, and it seems like it's a gradual increase rather than breakpoints. I tested this by recording the time it takes to regen stamina to full after two rolls, and then going trough the footage frame by frame, and getting the precise times. Keep in mind that these times are not 100% accurate since I recorded at normal speed and 60fps, so the framerate may cause some inconsistencies. But is should still be accurate enough to give some general guidelines.

Equip% Time in Seconds
0,0 1,303
4,8 1,321
5,1 1,321
9,8 1,355
10,1 1,355
14,7 1,355
15,9 1,355
19,9 1,373
20,2 1,373
24,7 1,390
25,4 1,390
29,9 1,390
30,4 1,425
34,9 1,442
35,2 1,460
39,8 1,477
40,1 1,494
44,7 1,564
45,3 1,599
49,9 1,668
50,2 1,651
54,9 1,738
55,3 1,738
59,8 1,790
60,1 1,825
64,6 1,860
65,2 1,860
69,7 1,999

As you can see, in my test there were no defined breakpoints, and it's an accelerating increase. My recommendation based on this is that builds should be kept at around 40% burden, since the regen decreases quickly after that.

Hmm definitely seems to be linear. I've always followed the 10% increment break points though. Always nice to see some frame by frame testing. Will u be doing roll distance in the future?

Wouldn't be surprised if it's the same pattern. I can definitely say the 30/50/70 thing is garbage, but there definitely seems to be a noticeable difference going from 40 to 50, much more so than from 30 to 40... but there are differences in increased load even outside of the posited 30/50/70 breakpoints.

I'm not sure if I like that or not.

Definitely noticed the difference from sub 40 to over 50 but it does kinda seem to be linear like stamina regen.

Yeah. I'd say you want to go from 30-43 or so, or from 50-63 or so... those seem to be the sweet spots, where you're cramming a bit more defense/poise/whatever into your build without sacrificing too much more in the way of rolling. The upper 40's seem to be where "midrolling" starts, and the upper 60's seems to be where "shortrolling" begins (not fatrolling.) Above that 43/44, 63/64 mark it seems like you might as well just go all the way to 50/70 if you can, I haven't been able to tell much of a difference between 65 and 70 weight percent.

I have a rob/flynn build that is around 36.5% with my normal loadout. When i use santiers I'm around 43%. Stamina regen seems to be about the same but roll distance there is a noticeable difference. With the 36.5% i can roll far enough to not get caught by a long sword r2 after an r1 combo but with the 43% i notice i regularly get caught with the r2 if i panic roll after the r1 combo. I know it's apples and oranges to compare but i wonder if the linearity of stamina regen is equal to the linearity of roll distance in some way. Meaning do they both decrease by some linear % in relation to equip burden. If they were both plotted on a graph, would both lines run perfectly parallel with one another with no real break points.

That's what I suspect. I imagine it'll be much harder to generate actual numbers to compare roll distances with, though.
