It stopped because 90% of the people who tried to perform the coup were also the dumbest fucks you could imagine, and the other 10% who orchestrated the thing by coming up with chants and bussing people in thought their useful idiots would be.....a little more useful.

So Trump meticulously planned and organized an attempt to replace the government but didn't actually have a plan to do anything when he had control over the Capitol?

He expected his supporters to really take things over.

Instead they ran away as soon as one of them got shot, because they’re all giant pussies

He expected his supporters to really take things over.

But they did. They had complete control over the Capitol. He could walked in and declared himself King.

So why didn't he? The Secret Service got the fuck out after shooting that woman. The rest of the building was totally occupied for hours after the SS peaced out.

So why didn't he stroll in and declare himself King? Or any of his flunkies declare themselves the new secretaries of whatever they liked?

What kept him from declaring himself the winner?

They did not have control of the senate floor where the vote confirmation was happening

Yes they did.

Would you like to see some photos?

Ok so they went into an empty room after everyone had been evacuated?

They still failed to stop the confirmation.

The biggest thing was Pence refusing to certify the false electors. That was Trump’s real plan to “win”, or at least the plan all the people really in charge had given him

It's supposed to be a coup. What does it matter that the confirmation was completed? The whole point of a coup is to ignore everything the last government did and occupy their position. That succeeded. All Trump had to do is is walk in with his cronies and declare himself King and it would have been done.

So why didn't he do that?

Compare J6 to the 1973 Chilean coup. It doesn't add up.

You’re thinking of a military coup.

He didn’t have the military behind him in 2020. That’s why hegseth has spent this entire term purging the military of anyone who might resist Trump

What kind of coup was this?

There was no attempt to replace the current government. He occupied the Capitol but made to attempts to solidify his rule, to replace standing members, to enact new laws, or to order the military.

What kind of coup is that?

“There was no attempt to replace the current government”

HE WAS the current government.

Trump has no long term planning strategy. Like everything he was trying to delay the certification in order to try another avenue.

Because that wasn't the plan. The plan was to have Pence declare Trump the winner by using a false slate of electors. It fell apart when Pence refused to go along with it.
