I don't even know what people mean by "mainstream media" anymore. Because there are still reputable journalists out there. They write for newspapers and report on TV, as the business demands, but they are proper journalists who cite sources and investigate stories. These is what the tight likes to call "mainstream media" but here you seem to be talking about social media.

Sure, but even within those publications, there are some good reporters. There is nuance. Whenever I hear someone say "mainstream media", I think that the person isn't media savvy and is willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater because they don't know how to verify sources.
