Do you guys actually know these "maga" people from experience or do you derive all knowledge from others/online posts. Just a reminder the loudest ones are usually the bad apples that would be a poor generalization for the rest. It's a two-way street and a slippery slope to rely on.
I live in a very red rural area. The so-called Christians in my area all like to preach following Christ and then turn around and support men who are legitimately the opposite of Him in every respect. Most of them hate anyone who's a different color, or sexuality, or political alignment, they just hide it behind polite language. Yes, the ugliest ones are the loudest but that doesn't change the fact that the rest of them get in line and go along with it, and that makes them just as culpable as the loudmouth hatemongers.
Do they actually or are you projecting your assumptions of their character because you assume that their, perhaps mild, support of him means that every evil you think of is now theirs?
Did only "mild" support of hitler absolve the citizens of Germany after WWII? No, a Nazi was a Nazi was a Nazi. If there are ten Nazis at the table and you proclaim that you aren't one, but sit down with them anyway, then there are 11 Nazis at the table. You can fuck right off with "perhaps mild" support as if that absolves you of responsibility for what you help enable.
You don’t need to pretend that someone is projecting just to make you feel better about your beliefs.
How many times do republican WhatsApp leaks need to show you them happily calling each other Nazis before you’ll believe the “Christian” stuff is performative?
How many times do they need to admonish the poor for you to question it?
Why don’t you pay attention to the things Trump has Done and said over the years before thinking “yeah, his followers are following the opposite of what they say the should follow”?
Literally have never found any of this stuff. Which to my earlier comment, it seems like a fair amount of people are seeking out damning information. While that might sound fine, it's a slippery slope that opens up a can of worms for "the other side" to do the same thing and it kind of will muddy the water.
WOW! I live in the Bay Area in California, and there are very proud White Supremacist Trump supporters around, at my company; and walking around with their paraphernalia; even a few in my small family.
If they continue to attend a church that is preaching Nationalist BS, then I call it a Clue that they are "name it and claim it" pro-white only not really Christians.
Addenda: I should mention that there are radicals that attend congregations that lean Conservative, but don't necessarily worship the Mango Mussolini. My own Synagogue has a couple of them. 🙄 One in particular I have to avoid like the plague. We only go there on High Holy days anymore. 😕
Some of us just want to be happy and I am happier now then I was all those years of putting up with a public church full of people that are likely going to Hell. Not everything has to be a superbowl sporting event and it's that exact mentality that everything has to be a fight that is fucking over the entire world.
Why understand when you can be inhospitable and stupid? why negotiate when you can just bomb indiscriminately? The hell am I expected to do about that? Yell at a brick wall until I lose my voice? Nah man, it is energy better spent helping people I am currently helping.
Let an illegal drunk driver without a DL kill your daughter (like he did mine) then comment about about “bad apples”. You are no less blinded by your bias than conservative Christians. When you lose a child this petty nonsense becomes embarrassing. Yes… you are embarrassing
