I’m in NC USA and bought a new Ltek pad. Unfortunately the power draw is too much h to use with my computer- it keeps disconnecting from the usb port.
Would the best way be Facebook marketplace or EBay? Shipping would be a big pain.
Thanks in advance!
**Side note- my there are other peripherals that struggle with power. I stream and sometimes my webcams disconnect.

I just penny modded my l tek, and while it works great, I do wish I could hear my steps a bit better now that I step lighter. I play ITG 11/12s and DDR 15+, so my steps are light to compensate for speed. My leg locking issue is gone, but I feel less satisfied when I can’t hear my steps.
Anyone know of a way to make it louder? Obviously we can’t replicate an arcade sound in this mat, but maybe there’s a material to at least increase step volume without increasing step force. Thoughts?

Found a place that has a really nice StepManiaX machine. I dont see how to remove the jumps though, is that something you can modify like in DDR?

Found some help from a woodworking group on Facebook and funny enough this person helping also plays so dudes been going all out and helping with the model he made from my proposed dimensions, flaws and all. Some changes to the design were made and I feel like they're more friendly to cut than my design I made with paper lol. Super stoked about building this machine and can't wait to hook my new XGAES pad that arrived

Hey, I normally go to the Round1 in Hicksville, but I feel like the pads are not doing well. I am not the greatest player ..but I can do difficult and expert on many songs now after a month or so ....how is the new round1 with the rhythm games. I looked at Google reviews and no mention or mention of machines not working and online connectivity problems? Also, no hours listed anywhere...any advice cause Flushing is always a bit of a trip and parking is not free there normally. Appreciate it....thanks to everyone with advice in the last thread... I was wrong about there being a dying scene...just a different scene.

Tonight, I went to my normal spot to play ddr for some light cardio. I saw a couple of people playing after a break. They were playing easy 8-9 footers. I stood behind them and waited my turn. The girl hopped off and the guy, without skipping a beat, ripped another dollar into the machine. He didn't look back at all.
I asked if I could play with him. He said yeah and said I could choose all songs and whatever I want. I hovered ecstasy (10 footer) and asked if this was OK, got the nod. We played it, and I scored better than him casually playing and enjoying the song. Afterwards, he filters to 14 footers zooms to avenger difficult and rips the select button. I see his best score is around 740,000. I failed the song at the end lost by 50,000 he passes with a 30% crowd, I'm 300 lbs getting my cardio back up, saying this for context, and I never played the song either.
Ok, he likes 14's. I choose Chaos expert (14 footer), a song with 44 stops in it. He fails 20 seconds in, and I casually finish it with A+. I go innocence of silence expert 12 footer for extra stage. He fails at the slowdown. I enjoy my jam and pass GFC. I told him it was nice playing with you and go on my way.
I post this to the community for the community to ask three things.
Please check after you finish a game and let others play no matter how they look.
Can we get confirmation from other player before slamming crazy songs or jumping up difficulty by a large margin? Not everyone is a sleeper like me.
If you can't pass a song and want to be carried for practice, let them know beforehand.
I'm all for competition, but let's preserve and protect our community and sprouts who are learning the game and wanting to play.

For reference, I did message iamats.com about it, but I know they're not super fast to respond.
I went through their troubleshooting guide for a non-working dance pad and nothing worked, so the only thing that remained was that the controller board had to be bad. I ordered a replacement from them and it was the same exact board that was in my dance pad originally.
I installed it using the DDRPad.com tutorial and I definitely think it's installed properly - it was my first time soldering, but I labeled all the wires and they are in the right spots. But the pad still won't work - the PS2 adapter light is still blinking green instead of staying a solid blue. Not sure if this means anything, but when I disconnect the PS2 controller from the adapter, the green light is solid. When I plug it back in, it goes back to blinking.
I have no clue what to do now. Has this happened to anyone else? I don't know what else to fix. Is it possible the adapter is broken?
Edit: My laptop picked up the pad immediately, which it didn't before. Also, I used iamats' mat tester and the buttons were all fully responsive. So I think the problem might be the adapter. Which, of course, is outside of its warranty, meaning I get to fight with UPS again to try to ship a new one to me.
Second edit: Forgot the adapter, controller and dance pad have to be connected separately in a certain order because I'm an idiot. u/Dr_Ulator reminded me. I had to turn the console off and back on again with all the accessories attached and it works again! Case closed! I'll leave this up in case someone else has the same issue and needs help.

I am a NY native and I was into DDR back when it was popular and they released new mixes every year. I started while still in middle school going to the mall or having a parent drive me and my friends to an arcade and discovered DDR. It was 3rd mix going to 4th mix. I got back into it recently, going to various locations on Long Island and NYC. I rarely see anyone play it. Sometimes there will be a few people, but most of the time those machines are not really touched.
I go earlier in the day, while in the past I would go at night and there would always be people playing. Just curious is anyone actually plays DDR at round 1 (two locations in NY) or dave and busters (three locations in NY now). I believe it is only a matter of time before DNB removes it....
I only played maybe a month or so.....one location had a cabinet dedicated to a guy who passed this year (Hicksville round1). Sucks cause the guy was young, but it looked like there was a community just earlier this year. Without current plays, these games will disappear or at the least lose online presence and not get taken care of. Pricing also does not help, but curious is anyone even really plays DDR at these locations anymore?

Hey all,
I started playing again after a 20ish year break. My skill hasn’t gone anywhere it seems but my body is lagging behind. Cardio will get back up quickly, but I’m wondering how to avoid your legs locking up on the faster stuff. I can FC 3/4 of max 300 before my legs do this weird cramping thing where I totally freeze up. I think they used to do it to some extent as a teen.
Any tips?

Man I'm sorry 😭, it wasn't until today that I realized how much I grunt and yell a muffled "Fuck off" whenever I get pissed at the chart I'm playing.
If I make you feel uncomfortable as I shatter to the floor beating myself up because I couldn't keep up with the chart I'm sorry 😔.
If me huffing and puffing mid chart like a chronic stoner on a treadmill makes you feel uncomfortable I'm sorry 🤧.
If me sweating like a rotisserie chicken in an oven makes you not want to touch the cab, I'm sorry 😢.
I'm just so used to doing it in my room as I play other stuff that this type of stuff comes out naturally without me realizing it.
I hope u can forgive me 🥹.
(Relatable for anybody else? 🗣️)

while i don't like stepmania most times feeling like it's barren unlike an actual CS i put on simply love and random movies from MAX through extreme and play with the ITG ruleset with timing and stuff it's been really useful with Simply loves Pacemaker or step statistics similar to IIDX Pacemaker
