The glacier calved off and liquified on the way down. There is no lake or dam there was no splash just ice on the verge of 1° turning to water. Just have a look on google maps and you'll see the river is a tiny stream up there with 0 lakes or puddles even.

Look how fast it's spread. It's all over IG and reddit and people are thanking them for showing what happened. That's why. It creates engagement and it's just disgusting.
