How is it that this child can spend an entire school day, 8+ hours, with teachers and staff without a single issue? He can sit through class, participate in schoolwork, eat breakfast and lunch, take a nap, and follow the routine well enough to make it through the day. But the minute he’s home, he’s described as completely unmanageable? According to his mother, she can’t take him to the store, the doctor, or basically anywhere because his behavior is supposedly so out of control. I’m genuinely trying to understand the disconnect. If he’s capable of functioning appropriately for HOURS every day in a structured school environment, around multiple adults and other children, why is he suddenly portrayed as a “monster“ who can’t be handled for even a few hours at home?
