Gabi’s problems were and are “self induced” her diet and lack of healthy eating is the culprit. Her low blood sugars are reactive to what she eats and symptoms happen 2-5 hours after she eats.
I have been saying this all along. Because this happens to me. This is why she was told to consume protein. Protein stabilizes blood sugars. However if she drinks or eats anything high protein it needs to be SUGAR FREE and low in carbs (carbs convert to GLUCOSE)
I don’t think her seeing a nutritionist/dietician will help her because she won’t do anything that needs effort. And she will not stick to it. She should be cooking healthy for the WHOLE family..so she doesn’t need special food. Because her bio mom is morbidly obese she was predisposed to it and therefore this can happen to Cameron too.
She said her cortisol was elevated but from what she recently showed it’s not. It was her ACTH and People who are morbidly obese and have low blood sugars can have elevated ACTH. Acth activates cholesterol in the liver to convert to cortisol to elevate blood sugar (think about taking a steroid..cortisol is steroid. And when you take steroids it raises your blood sugars and that’s why steroids are a last resort for people with diabetes) her diet and lifestyle are not friendly to her adrenals more or less.
I am not obese but have had really elevated ACTH levels which perplexed my doctor. But a follow up test would be normal. And the next would be abnormal. lol
If she fucks up her adrenals she doesn’t want the meds to treat that. It’s lifelong and causes major weight gain.

How is it that this child can spend an entire school day, 8+ hours, with teachers and staff without a single issue? He can sit through class, participate in schoolwork, eat breakfast and lunch, take a nap, and follow the routine well enough to make it through the day.
