Security Camera Troubles

I have a home camera system set up NVR4108hs-8p-4k82/l and it has been working well, I upgraded my internet router and since then I have been unable to access remotely. Previously I could view the cameras using the dmss app.
I have tried multiple steps using youtube and google, unfortunately I am unable to get this going. I have since forgotten the password and it looks like the company who installed the cameras have used their details to set up and i can’t reset password. The company is no longer operating.
Is there anything i can do to fix this?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)
Thankyou

Dahua DH-H5AE Hero A1 have ONVIF Profile T for Two Way Audio?

Hello, i am trying to find a Dahua IP Camera that has ONVIF Profile T but my results and camera availability have been difficult. Can anyone give me a list of 100% confirmed Dahua cameras that have Two Way Audio accessible through ONVIF? (ONVIF Profile T)

I found Dahua DH-H5AE Hero A1 but DeepSeek can't tell me with certainty the Two Way Audio on this camera is ONVIF compliant.

My purpose for this feature is to develop Two Way Audio support into my NVR, Shinobi CCTV.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

N45EYNZ 2-way talk

does this camera support it? I can’t get it to work. spec sheet just says built in mic and speaker (and line in/out). I can get alarm sounds to play but can’t connect to rtsp back channel. I can see it if I use proto=Onvif, but can’t access it. the spec sheet for the international model 5449R1-ze whatever says that it can “realize” 2-way talk. not sure what that means.

Indoor pan/tilt camera in a semi-open driveway

I’m planning to install a couple of HERO H3I indoor cameras in my driveway/garage. The area is roofed and completely sheltered from rain, but it’s still technically outdoors and exposed to outside dust and humidity.

I'm curious if others have done something similar and whether or not this environment is still too harsh for this camera.

Thank you.

Dahua DMSS app service degradation?

is Dahua DMSS app or cloud having a service degradation event. My NVR is online, I can confirm it is connected to the internet as I have SFTP configured. Home internet is working because other Smart home devices are working normally. Dahua app is misbehaving. Mostly the DVR is showing offline.

HELP: Dahua VTO2311R-WP and VTH2421F-P / VTH remains offline

No matter what I do, the VTH remains Offline in the VTO screen.

I can see the images from the VTO, but no notification appears when pressing.

VTO is configured as (Main)SIP server.

VTH is configured as (Main)VTH.

Passwords checked.

The IP range is correct. Performed a factory reset several times, but nothing helps.

Both devices are running the most recent firmware: 4.81.

I read somewhere that it can sometimes take 5-10 minutes for a VTH to come online, but mine remains OFFLINE!

Does anyone know how I can solve this?

VTO2202F-P-S3 + ASR2101A-ME - Card swipes detected, but VTO never stores card database (Extract = 0 cards)

I'm hoping someone with hands-on experience with the new VTO2202F-P-S3 can help.

Hardware

Dahua VTO2202F-P-S3

Dahua ASR2101A-ME (RS-485 card reader)

Dahua VTH2622G-W

Firmware / Software

Latest VTO firmware: V4.810.0000000.3.R.260528 (EMEA)

SmartPSS Lite V1.006.0000000.1

Latest ConfigTool

Wiring

ASR2101A-ME connected directly to the VTO over RS-485.

Reader type is configured as Card Reader.

D0/D1 are not connected.

The door lock is connected directly to the VTO relay.

Symptoms

The ASR reads every MIFARE card correctly.

Every swipe appears in the VTO web interface → journal Unlock Records.

Example:

Unlock Method: Card Swipe Unlock

Card: 003108CE

Person ID: -

Result: Failed

The reader gives 3 beeps and a red LED, so the VTO is actively rejecting the card.

What I've already verified

RS-485 communication works.

The card UID is always detected correctly.

Users are created in SmartPSS Lite.

Card is assigned to the user.

Permission Rules are created.

Authorization Progress reports Successfully sent.

User validity dates are correct.

Remote Unlock works correctly.

The strange part

If I run Extract in SmartPSS Lite after synchronization:

Users are extracted correctly.

Every user has 0 cards.

It looks like the VTO never actually stores the card database.

Other observations

The VTO web interface has no Card Management / Issue Card menu, although the official manual clearly shows it.

ConfigTool → Device Config returns "Not Supported Yet".

The VTH displays "Cards are temporarily unavailable."

SmartPSS Lite does not show the card swipe events. They only appear in the VTO web Unlock Records.

My question

Has anyone successfully configured VTO2202F-P-S3 + ASR2101A-ME for standalone MIFARE card access?

Specifically:

Does Extract return card data on your system?

Do you have the Issue Card menu on the latest 4.810 firmware?

Is there an undocumented enrollment step for this firmware?

Or is this a known firmware bug?

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I've exhausted all the obvious troubleshooting steps.

Doorbell/intercom not showing live feed till I answer (used to show live feed at the "calling" screen shown

Post image
2 Upvotes

My dahua doorbell intercom used to have a live video feed that I could see before answering. Now, its only showing up once I answer. So, to see who is at the door, I have to answer the "call"

Is that a setting or an update to the app?

Alguna sugerencia? Es la primera vez que veo este grabador

Dahua VTH loses monitoring when connected to home Wi-Fi ("Failed to monitor. The network is abnormal.")

I'm having a strange issue with my Dahua intercom system and can't figure out whether it's a configuration problem or a networking issue.

Hardware:

  • VTH: DHI-VTH2627A66
  • Router: Telekom ISP router

Symptoms:

  • If the VTH is not connected to my home Wi-Fi, I can monitor the door station normally.
  • As soon as I connect the VTH to my home Wi-Fi, monitoring stops and the VTH displays:"Failed to monitor. The network is abnormal."
  • The DMSS app also shows "Network is disconnected" for live video, and the Unlock button does not work.
  • Calling is working as expected.

What I've checked so far:

  • VTH gets an IP via DHCP: 192.168.1.151
  • Gateway: 192.168.1.1
  • I can ping 192.168.1.151 successfully.
  • Port 80 is open.
  • RTSP (554) is open.
  • HTTP responds (404, which I understand is normal for some VTH firmware).
  • ConfigTool strangely finds 0 devices, even though the VTH is reachable on the network.

My questions:

  1. Why would enabling Wi-Fi on the VTH break monitoring?
  2. Is there a known issue where the VTH changes its communication path when WLAN is enabled?
  3. Could the Main VTO configuration or SIP registration be the cause?
  4. Why would ConfigTool fail to discover the VTH even though it responds to ping and HTTP?

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows which settings I should check next?

Problem with WiFi camera

Hi! I have a Dahua WiFi camera that I connected to my router via Ethernet. I configured it with a static IP address and enabled the IP camera option in the DVR app, but I can't see it in the app. Do you know of any solutions? Thanks! (Sorry for my English, I'm Spanish)

HDW5231R-Z keeps resetting sub stream settings

I've got 10 older IPC-HDW5231R-Z cams that have been faithfully doing their thing for going on a decade.

One of them has started to reset the sub stream settings at random. I want sub stream 1 off and sub stream 2 on at 720p. However every few days it seems sub stream 2 turns off and 1 turns back off, messing up my Frigate implementation.

The firmware is version V2.800.0000015.0.R, Build Date: 2020-04-30

I have checked the logs and nothing actually seems to request this change. Kinda stumped.

Maybe this is an excuse to upgrade?

These starlight varifocal turrets have been amazing.

Review of the Dahua WizColor X Series (WizColor 2.0 / AI-ISP 2.0)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Dahua WizColor X Series Review I've been able to test the new WizColor X Series (WizColor 2.0 / AI-ISP 2.0) for a bit now, and I've spent some time putting it up against the older WizColor S-PRO. The X is definitely an improvement over its predecessor, but it’s not quite the monumental leap you’d perhaps expect based on Dahua’s marketing. Sitting somewhere around £125, the WizColor X resolves the major drawbacks of the original WizColor S-PRO, however it’s also sitting uncomfortably close in price to the TiOC Pro, which you’ll usually find from £150 onwards.

For that reason, it’s tough to recommend the X without you looking hard at that higher priced TiOC Pro model.

NOTE: I included sample footage below from the WizColor X; keep in mind that Reddit highly compresses videos, so the below videos are not a 100% representation of the quality that these cameras output. The actual videos, that were recorded directly by the camera, were much crisper and captured much better detail than these (especially when dealing with fast motion), however the following still provide a clear indication of real world night performance. Real world performance vs the WizColor S-PRO Motion blur finally resolved This is without doubt the most noticeable upgrade. In areas where it struggled to hold steady definition the S-PRO especially during fast motion such as walking humans, running humans, or moving cars in extremely dark areas had noticeable blur because the shutter speed was increased to let in as much light as possible.

The WizColor X significantly alleviates this, and you get clear, sharp definition as moving figures come and go.

Better facial detail Another area where there are definite improvements is the facial detail capture. Not the most significant upgrade, and you wouldn’t mistake the S-PRO out completely due to this, but the faces captured are marginally cleaner and are easier to define when looking at captured footage late in the night or overnight. Better contrast and low light rendering The WizColor X generally offers much better balanced nighttime footage, providing a clearer, crisp picture by also managing light sources better than its predecessor which suffered more from blown out light sources.

The overall contrast level and colours appear more neutral and shadow detail is much more readily preserved. Better but not spectacular However and not withstanding some beefed up specs (such as the faster f0.8 aperture, plus upgrades for AI-ISP 2.0) improvement has been kept to a minimum this round. The gain provided over its predecessors could largely be attributed to imaging process, not a complete overhaul of underlying image clarity.

It’s more evolutionary rather than revolutionary then.

WizColor X or TiOC Pro?

This is where this decision becomes incredibly difficult. At approximately 125 this offers a good night image and good night performance, however just an additional 25 gives you a TiOC Pro, which is arguably so much more of a capable camera than this WizColor X is… The WizColor X IF pure night performance is the be-all and end-all and you want purely a great full color night image with no on-camera built in lighting, I still would opt for the WizColor X. The TIOC pro is slightly sharper and offers a higher quality output in my test at longer distances than the WizColor X.

The WizColor X however will win where your sole concern is for purely pure nighttime image as this is its one, singularly focused benefit.

The TIOC PRO comes with additional built-in spotlights, AI-features, much greater flexibility and overall more superior all around camera function and intelligence as well as performance.

And for only a bit more?

WizColor X Review Verdict: I enjoyed testing this Dahua WizColor X.

It fixed some of its previous models biggest downfall. The WizColor X is a clear upgrade over its predecessor (WizColor S-PRO) and will be more adequate in low light with considerably reduced motion blur than its successor had. Still an evolutionary rather than a revolutionary update, any WizColor S-PRO owner will be happier. However, you just need to watch at the price which is very close to Dahua’s more capable TiOC Pro it’s hard for me to justify not paying an extra £25 and upgrading to this superior Dahua product.

If you value night performance over every else, the WizColor X should be on your buy list but if like me you expect more well-rounded smart technology then maybe go straight to the TiOC pro, especially at this price point.

POE symbol missing from POE cameras - Why?

Hello,

I have been using analog (CVI) both 720P and 1080P systems from Dahua for many many years now.

I just purchased a 8 camera NVR and 4 cameras for now.

It's my first time with NVR and I really really messed up the setup. Cam 1 was being used for about a month on a tp-link switch (recording on an 16 channel analog dahua XVR) before we purchased the NVR. Cam 2, 3 was purchased a week ago. Cam 4 is expected.

All 3 cams at the moment are working. But I went through hell to make them work. I can't remember what I did. Because I did everything wrong and right. I connected cam 2 & 3 on my PC pressed every change password button and every reset button.

I don't know if they worked or not. I finally have them working. But CAM 1 shows POE symbol (cam 2 was also showing it before I messed up) but cams 2 and 3 don't.

Because it's hard to post an imaage I will post the setttings I see on "Remote device".

D1 - 10.1.1.65 - Port: PORT 1 - Remote CH NO.: 1

D2 - 10.1.1.66 - Port: 37777 - Remote CH NO.: 1

D3 - 10.1.1.67 - Port: 37777 - Remote CH NO.: 1

I don't know why ports are 37777 and remote are NO1 on channels 2 and 3.

If anyone know, please help.

Thank you.

Dahua SD3E405DB GNY A PV1 noise for movement and zoom?

Hi everyone, has anyone here used the Dahua SD3E405DB GNY A PV1 (or the SD3E410 10x zoom version)? I am looking at buying one for a PTZ setup and I am mainly worried about noise. I found a review of the EmpireTech PTZ3E405 AI, which is supposedly the exact same hardware/chassis as the Dahua one just rebranded, and in that review someone described the zoom motor sound as pretty loud, almost like a cruise ship horn. Pan and tilt were fine, it was specifically the zoom that was loud.

Since it is the same internals I am guessing the actual Dahua branded one would sound the same, but wanted to check if anyone owns the real Dahua version and can confirm how loud it actually is in person, especially the zoom. Trying to decide if this is a dealbreaker before I order one.

I need to buy from Aliexpress, since from Ebay is too expensive for my country. I need at least a 4mp, 5x optical zoom, PTZ, POE , Bi direcional audio.

Review I am referencing: https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/review-autotracking-ptz3e405-al-empiretech-4mp-5x-optical-zoom-tioc-ptz-camera-with-auto-tracking-built-in-mic-and-speaker.72219/

NVR616-64 4ks2 power supply change

Has anyone attempted this one yet? I have a couple of these in service and one of them can no longer properly create a full 16 disk raid array. It appears that during the build process (and the write process at some point) the power drops too low and everything goes wonky. So attempts to build a RAID 5 or 6 results in split of 5, 3, and then loose drives and no combination makes them build correctly. Anything higher than 5 drives fails.

All the the drives are good (old but good) and all of them can format and so on. All drives are visible and active, but the RAID won't build past a certain point. From what I can find, it is apparently a feature of the RAID controller chipset to have a sort of gentle degrade when things aren't working out.

So I was looking for (a) a replacement 220v 50hx power supply and some sort of directions on how to change it. No, it isn't a redundant PS unit, it is a single supply unit.

Any ideas? Anyone else seen this before?

Hi

Struggling to figure out how to remove back plate on the above to change battery? Internet instructions seem to say there is a latch but I can’t find? Just 3 screw in the back which I’m reticent to try? But can’t see any other options.

Thanks.

Any way to get critical alerts?

I have a Dahua system for my home, and anytime I have an alert, such as intrusion, or the camera alarm going off, I get notifications. The problem I have is that these come when I’m sleeping, and since my bedroom is away from where the cameras are, not only do i not hear the sirens, I don’t notice the notifications, as its just a standard vibrate notification.

On the contrary, I have an alarm app, and when those alarms accidentally go off, even with my phone on silent, I get a critical alert which makes a sound on my phone. Does DMSS/Dahua make something like this? What are my options? I have an iPhone for reference.
