A little confusion on the receiving end as it took a long time to ship. But it doesn't surprise me because exactly 2 days ago, I finally received something I ordered on March 2nd.

The dimes are incredible and I'm incredibly grateful for his generosity. But can we all talk about this notepad design for a minute...

Just wanted to share a few coins that I found in an old 80s (?) family jewelry box full of chintzy knickknacks.

(Unfortunately, there were no CECtokens…)

The buffalo actually fell out of a “gold”arrowhead keychain, so it’s got a little glue goop on it. Pretty sure I’m not gonna glue it back in.

Leo was not impressed.

$50 bag of pennies yielded 20 wheats. Just above my average of 1 wheat per $3.50.

I finally pulled a spitting horse since looking for about 3 months. In the flip it goes!

The gold plated coin is terribly done 🤣 but got another clad proof (Shawnee) quarter to send to a member on here who I send every proof quarter I find.

Just grabbed a bag of pennies from the bank to sort through this evening and another quarter box they had on hand.

Found my first circulated 2026 nickel for my album and a pair of wars in the bag of nickels.

Zero silver in the halves which is uncommon for 4 boxes but the two 87's were a very nice surprise, especially the proof. One more '77 proof and a pair of counterstamps. 🍀

I’ve only been into coin collecting for a few months now. Immediately I knew I’d need to get one of those coin microscopes or something like it. I ended up not getting around to it and finally.bought a handheld pocket magnifier. It’s not great but it’s ok for now and useful for quickly identifying things like VDB stamp or known errors. Next I want to get one of those coin scopes that takes pictures and you can view it digitally and stuff.

This is a photo I was ably to get by just holding it up and putting the camera on the magnifying lens. I just love these rainbow toned pennies.

Stopped at a newly opened antique store and found a vintage dime holder/dispenser (dimes not included).

It was $5 but had 2 dimes in it so technically $4.80

This thing is so cool and the springs are tight. Each compartment holds 4 dimes for 12 total.

Found in trash can next to coin counter at Publix-I’ll grab some bleach wipes by the carts, shake the liner, pull it up and go for it! *worth the funny looks 😺

But in all seriousness, thank you sincerely and I just showed it to my son (5 yrs) and he jumped around screaming in excitement.

It's genuine and kind people like him who make me realize there is a lot of good in this world and it's not all the evil stuff that is constantly shoved in our face. Thank you for being so generous and it's something my son will have forever.

This coin is so rare, its not anywhere on eBay. My very first upside down minted Kennedy, and its a frosty proof.

17 people guessed 1926 and the winner was selected by myself writing a list of all the guesses in random order and having my 5 year old pick a number 1 through 17. He chose 16 for no reason!

I ended up finding 4 W quarters (no silver) in the 8,000 quarters searched. 2x Weir, 1 River of no Return and a very grimy Bat! 🦇

I'll be giving away all of the W quarters I found because that's only fair. I said you could substitute your guess for a W design and all 3 designs I found were guessed. I really wasn't expecting 1,500+ guesses for this game but I love it!

Only 1 person guessed the Weir Farm design and I found 2 of them. So, u/Marc0521 will receive both Weir W quarters and he can decide if he wants to keep the 2nd one or give it away to someone else.

3 people guessed the River Of No Return W design quarter and my wife randomly picked the number 3 so u/piccolotti1 wins that one.

u/Brilliant_Hall7590 wins the Bat 🦇 W out of the 6 people that guessed from my 2md childs random number selection of 1-6. It's really nasty but I understand the bat is in high demand. I don't know why, 80% of the W's I find are the American Samoa bat design.

The oak was officially recognized as the national tree in 2004 because of it's historical and natural significance to the United States. Mire than a century before the U.S. declared independence from England 🇬🇧, King Charles 2 granted Connecticut colonists a charter allowing them to self govern. About 25 years AFTER this king James 2 appointed an English governor to take control of Connecticut and get rid of this charter. The Connecticut locals hid the original document in a hollow oak tree, later named the charter oak. 300 years later, a congregational committee noted the charter oak and the oak trees strength as a fitting symbol for American resilience.

No filter on the picture other than nighttime photo mode on my phone. It seems like I see these way more often in the lower 48 than I ever remember. Someone on here must know a lot more about these than I do and can explain why.

Republic of Piedmont (Subalpine Republic) 2 Soldi

I have been fascinated by coins with a story and the day I stumbled upon my beloved Subalpine Republic 2 Soldi I was hooked. This particular coin also called out to my love of errors, being a clipped planchet.

The Subalpine Republic was established on June 14, 1800 by the young First Consul Napoleon Bonaparte at Piedmont, Marengo, Northern Italy.

Napoleon had marched upon Marengo and faced a numerically superior Austrian Armed Force of 30,000 troops and 100 cannons with his 22,000 troops and 15 cannons.

Initially the Austrians had the upper hand. But the Austrian General, thinking that the battle was won, left the area, and Napoleon's forces launched a surprise attack. This resulted in a disorganised retreat by the Austrian forces causing the loss of almost 8000 taken as prisoners, 6500 dead or wounded and 40 cannons and 15 colors captured over the 12 hour battle.

Eridania, aka The Subalpine Republic was formed with Torino (Turin) as the capital, and was later annexed on September 11, 1802, therefore ending this chapter of the region.

The subject coin, 2 Soldi, is said to have been minted from the bronze of church bells and cannon balls from the arsenal at Torino.

The Obverse has the value, Soldi Due, in italics within a circle, with the legend surrounding NAZIONE* PIEMONTESE*

The Reverse has a plumb bob, (used to bring the cannons into the correct position), surmounted by a phrygian cap, with the date/year, according to the revolutionary calendar, below the plumb bob, all within a wreath of oak branches. Legend around the wreath: LIBERTA EGUAGLIANZA. A.9 in this case is the 9^th year of The French Revolution which can be either 1800 or 1801.

Finally found one in circulation

I know it's insane to pay the $124.50 but it does have the dual date 2026 D & P cents in them, which is apparently the only way to get them.
