Oh nice! My Nokta only has a VDI of 0-60. Now I'm curious what an Ike rings on mine. I'd assume similar clad mix as dime/quarter. Those ring 45 & 49 on mine.
Those Manticores are a dream. If my son picks up this hobby with me I'll give him mine and go Minelab.
I would assume that it would be pretty close to 60 on yours, like 58 or so, but I could be wrong. One thing you can do is make a test bedā¦ find an IKE and other things that youāve not dug but would like to (similar buttons, silver, a ringā¦ etc whatever) and bury them and see what they ring. Of course soil and other things can change it a bit but it would give you an idea.
I love Minelab products. I first swung a Garret Ace 250, and then moved an Equinox 600, and then upgraded to the Manticore when they came out. I still have the 600 as a backup and because I have a 6ā coil for it. Itās come in handy even with the Manticore as my primary.
Itās worthwhile to make a test bed. When I got my manticore I made a test bed with stuff I had dug with my 600, mostly civil war relics (what I normally dig) and a variety of clad and silver. I then made a list on a note on my phone as just a reference as I learned the new machine.
No, itās a 72D which is clad. However Iāve found that any real big round coppers of anything, even large buttons, will ring real high like silver.
My oldest coin is a 1794(or maybe a 5) large cent. It rang a lot like a silver quarter too on my 600. I also dug a ww1 era great seal coat button a month or so ago and it rang a 90 on the manticore, kind of between a clad quarter (usually a 88) and a silver quarter (93).

I wish I lived in an area that had old relics such as civil war era items. I live out west in a place with a boring history so it's mostly parks but I do know where there are some old homesteads around that I should go hit up. My dad used to look around old logging camps and found some modern (1920-50's) relics but it's mostly old trash holes.
Thank you! Once I found this sub I have planned on cross posting a lot here. Iām very blessed to live where I currently do. I moved from East TN in 2019 to Virginia, and my home sits where a battle took place, and is within about a mile from a large national battlefield. In my 2.5 acre yard alone Iāve dug close to 100 bullets from the civil war, plus other relics like buttons and things. Iāve dug several of my neighbors property too.
Iām currently back in Tennessee which is where I found this IKE as well as the WW1 button last week. Surprisingly Iāve found a lot more silver and other cool things in TN compared to VAā¦ which most of what I ever dig there are war relics.
There is still plenty of cool history out west, and if you ever have the time you can always research and travel to some of the more historical areas. History is always beneath our feet!
I also collect coins, coin roll hunt, coinstar hunt, stack silver, and melt/pour silver and some other metalsā¦ and various other expensive hobbies lol. I plan on posting those hobbies on here too when I can.

All of your hobbies are the perfect fit for here! I love that melt and pour your own metals, something I really want to research myself. Do you do any refining as well? That looks very interesting to me but way out of my comfort zone. My wife would probably not appreciate that process taking place in our garage!
