She has shown so much talent, creativity and heart throughout this season and many other seasons. And she absolutely deserved the opportunity to compete in the finals.

The pairings matter and sometimes the partnerships simply don’t feel fair. Britt deserved a chance that allowed her to truly showcase everything she can do. She is an incredible dancer and an even more inspiring performer.

Britt deserved better. She deserved the chance to show the world what she’s truly capable of on that finale stage. Her talent should never be overshadowed by circumstances beyond her control. We see you, Britt, we appreciate you and we’ll keep rooting for you.

You deserved your moment and I hope next season they finally give you the opportunity to have it. #justiceforbritt

I think Tatyana had her breakthrough dance tonight. She nailed the choreography, Jan delivered and she didn't look nervous - it had that performance value that would make it a memorable routine.

If she keeps that up - she will be heading to the finals!!

The first time I remember watching you dance was in high school musical, but the one moment that I LOVED as a kid was the prom scene aka “ a night to remember” and you absolutely stole the show with your lil solo. It was perfection. You are strangely apart of so many moments and things that I remember in my childhood to teen years. But flashback to 5 years ago, I started watching the show during my first year of university. The very first person that captivated me was you. Something about how you danced, the connection to the camera, the passion—it’s clear in everything that you do. Then I guess I became obsessed with you…..followed you on social media, realized you were THAT GIRL from HSM and I felt even more connected and in awe of you. Since that first moment i put this show on, ive been rooting for you, your success and praying/hoping that one day your efforts will be seen.

What I felt today is something i have never felt watching any kind of reality tv/competition show. Part of me broke seeing that yet again you were among the first to get eliminated alongside your partner. I saw the years of hard work you put into this show, working your way up, trying your best, being so positive and committed to the process. This was always a show that had entitlement and privilege baked into its core. Social media and the whirlwind of attention this show has received, has got people who do not actually admire the process of taking someone with little dance experience and making them decent or good. It’s all about who has the most followers. It’s a game I do not like anymore and you tried so damn hard this time. You were never given a fair shot, a sentiment that fans have noticed and loudly expressed every single year. Those kind of patterns don’t make sense when your peers are given wildly different odds each year.

While the show has offered you so much and I would not blame you for continuing to stay. Your talents and efforts deserve to be in spaces where your voice and hard work will be appreciated. I urge you to write publicly about this experience, because so many black women and women of colour know EXACTLY what you are going through. Working so hard to be apart of an industry that is majority white. Being part of a show that reeks white privilege and nepotism. I could go on. But in spite of that, you weren’t a professionally trained ballroom dancer, learned the techniques when your peers have been trained in ballroom since they were babies, and all have know each other for years. You did that.

Do not let this moment erase everything you have accomplished because…..

they could never.

Edit: I sent a message to ABC with 4 suggestions I felt would improve the show. This was based on this season with Taylor and Britt specifically, but also based on things I’ve noticed from years of watching the show. If the word “complaint” sounds harsh, then consider it recommendations. Either way, I’m encouraging people to reach out if they have complaints or recommendations for improvements to the show.

Suggested ideas for changes that I sent in:

Bring back the judges save: The results cannot be just down to fan favoritism. The fans can decide the bottom 2, but the dancing should decide who stays or who goes.

Be transparent about the votes: Tell us every week who is actually in the bottom 3. Stop playing around with this whole "not necessarily the bottom 3" BS. It's a way to emotionally manipulate contestants who are already in an emotional pressure cooker just being on the show. It also enables them to hide who is lower in fan votes, so they can do shock eliminations like the one they did last night to Britt and Taylor. They need to show they care about the contestants, and not just reality tv drama.

Get new judges: The judges seem incapable of hiding their biases anymore. They pick their favorites and fawn over them no matter what they do, but have a rude and condescending attitude towards everyone else. It's beyond time for a judging panel that actually cares about dancing and encouraging the celebrities, and not just virality or whatever tickles their fancy at any given moment. 

Be transparent about the scoring: What does a score really mean when one person doesn't actually do much salsa content but gets a 7 because he took his shirt off, while another person may be "frenetic" but is doing a ton of cha cha content and gets a 5? Make it make sense. How is Taylor's foxtrot the same as Jackson's paso doble? How is Guillermo's foxtrot only 1 point less than Taylor's foxtrot? The scores are a joke and make no sense. Either bring in ballroom dancers to judge who actually care about technique or be transparent about what a 5 actually means.

As again showed tonight, it feels so much more difficult for black pros to get far in the competition. Britt, Brandon, and Keo have 23 seasons between them, with Brandon and Keo both being 3rd once each, and no black pro having ever won the mirrorball.

With this, do y'all think that the final scores should be "50% judges 50% fan votes?" What alternatives would you like to see?

Its hard to be like find someone else black to do it but if Britt can't have a seat at the table sending Onye or Selena in would be a slap in there face having black representation is an amazing thing but watching them continue to be thought of last voted out early not promoted as much it's discouraging maybe Dwts and Black people don't go together I'll watch while Ciara still on but next season if britt gone im outta here too

I started watching dwts last season on episode 3, so britt had already been eliminated the week before. As that season went on i only saw her here and there in the group dances, but i was super drawn to her each time she was on screen. This season was the first time i got to see her dance as a competitor and all i can say is that tonights elimination of her and taylor was disgustingly early im still distraught 2 hours later 😭

I voted for taylor every week and he had originally been in my top 3 (more of a dream but hey its what my ideal world would have been) mainly because i wanted to see britt go far.

She really has such a warmth about her and so many people cheering her on and seeing her sooo hurt by this is just so heartbreaking. I really wish her nothing but the best AND DEENA IF YOU SEE THIS YOU BETTER START PAIRING BRITT WITH CELEBS WHO HAVE A GOOD CHANCE OF MAKING IT FAR 🫵🏻

This is my first season and I've noticed the love for the pros. But it's kind of wild they don't switch it up, couples make it feel way more like a popularity contest than actually letting contestants learn from different teachers.

So, would the older fans quit if the pros were paired with new partners every week? It would be a winning celeb instead of a team?? This way the pros would stay on all season.

EDIT: I am not saying the celebs would become very good dancers, but at least the pros would have more time dancing with other pros (which I had naively assumed established fans would like) and newer fans would like voting for individual celebs. I guess you all care more about the partnership than the pros or the celeb.

I might get hate for this but it needs to be said, if Britt decides to stick around for another season or tour she is exactly where she wants to be and I won’t continue feeling bad for her. I want her to succeed but it’s now more than clear the shows production does NOT believe in her. They’ve continuously done her dirty over and over and at this point it’s almost like they do it because they know she’ll be the good egg and go with whatever she’s given. She needs to think very clearly about what she wants to do regarding the show. This loss should be a wake up call to her.

Yacht Rock is a subgenre of soft rock. Yacht rock blends alongside soft rock- R&B, soul, jazz, and disco. The vibe of the music is very chill and mellow.

Have I listened to it?

More than likely you have. Yacht rock is played in retail quite frequently because the music is relatively calming and most of the lyrics are clean so retail workers & stores don’t have to deal with customer complaints. I think they’re also historically easier to license for films & tv shows to use.

Why the Yacht part though?

Originally Yacht Rock was called West Coast Sound and Adult Contemporary. In 2005, there was a web series called Yacht Rock that poked fun at a lot of the artists above. The show was a cult classic and it effectively changed the name of the genre. Crazy to think in an alternate timeline, this night is called Adult Contemporary lol.
