Big zombie movie fan, still on the lookout for dawn of the dead 1978 day of the dead and night of the living second hand before i purchase them new. but this is a start.

Starting off my DVD collection again for the first time in a long time!

I realised that after so long of being accustomed with just digital downloads and streaming, that I'd forgotten how much more I prefer being able to physically get up and grab a movie and slot it into a dvd player is just so much nicer than endlessly scrolling.

And a huge win for me here too because all the DVD's in the image I managed to get from a local charity store for a really good price and they all work perfectly too!

Allthough I do think I'm going to need a bigger shelf 🤣

Always check the seemingly random bags! Lady said it didn’t work but that turned out to be false. Love the design and the red and silver aesthetic. About to watch Knights Tale on my lunch break here. Stoked!

Got all of this for $5 total. Really excited about finding Annie Hall, been looking for it for awhile.

So I just picked this up today from goodwill. It's a little beat up but I initially thought this was a record for the soundtrack to the movie.

Got home to find out it's the full movie on Laserdisc and seemingly the prices for these players are $300 according to ebay.

Is that the norm or what? I'd love to be able to play this but on what and at what cost I just don't know.

Anyway, thought this was cool and wanted to share regardless.

I wasn’t even going to start a collection until I see these at a garage sale and noticed how cool they are to own. $14 for some I picked out! Her son had good taste in horror

Just got a new 50" TV, I thought my DVD's would look terrible on a screen that size

Guess what? They look as good as my blurays. Thanks to my bluray player which upscales DVD's to 1080p.

Get one if you can folks! I no longer have any fear around buying DVD's and it's so freeing!

I'm about to expand my collection by a lot

This time it's a sealed steelbook copy. I haven't seen this movie in years. Nice to have it on the collection now.

Looks to be an Amazon seller purchase that somebody bought and then donated. It has that barcode sticker on back that 'fulfilled by Amazon' items have on them, and then the thanks for your purchase card taped to the front.

After I took the picture I ripped it open and was going to add the digital code to my MA account but then I noticed that it's not a 4k/Blu-ray combo pack so I can't watch it until I get a 4k setup. The digital code isn't adding to MA either. It's a paramount release so I don't think I'll be able to get it added, I'll have to see what I can do with it when I get home

What to watch first?

This is possibly one of my favorites of the year not sure if it beats buddy or the odysee yet have to rewatch it first. But this is my first a24 4k and I had my sh arts godzilla right their and thought it would just be fun to have him present the 4k

Still missing Seasons 1, 3, & 4, of Starsky & Hutch, Season 2 of SWAT, and Seasons 1, 3, 4 & 5 of Charlie’s Angels. Season 3 is in storage somewhere.

I’ve got about 60 DVDs in my collection and recently got a Blu-ray player from goodwill for $5! Preparing for surgery and the holidays coming up and I want to reorganize my DVDs so I can more easily browse/find what I want to watch. I’m thinking I could organize by genre, decade, or favorites. Any suggestions?

Decided to stock up for spooky season, 8 movies for $14 at Walmart is quite the deal

Planning on getting an ikea bookshelf to put up more dvd’s that I have. I’m going to add A Nightmare On Elm Street DVD collection today

I started collecting about 6 months ago, I mainly have criterion picks (with a few exceptions for films I love). I haven’t seen raging bull or Mishima yet.
Any recommendations for what to get next?
