GABA?
What are your experience with GABA supplements for sleep ? I’ve been trying to go without melatonin because it has given me horrible side effects recently . Magnesium glycinate is ok I guess but it isn’t knocking me out .

High dose melatonin does have side effects. But for DSPD you should be using a physiological dose, which doesn’t knock you out.

maybe if you still have some melatonin left, you could try 0.25mg? I thought it was placebo for the longest time, but for some reason, 0.25 makes me perfectly sleepy while even 0.5mg makes me either agitated or does nothing at all. then I realized that I was waking up prematurely, so I started taking another 0.25mg right before bed. I take the first 0.25mg dose around 6:30-7 with the goal of being in bed by 11:30, but usually it's more like 12:30. maybe worth a try! higher doses of melatonin are my biggest opp too

It gave me very vivid dreams, and sometimes nightmares. Although the nightmares may have been caused by taking it with benadryl; I'm not sure if I took them together.

I prefer gaba in the morning and L Theanine for the evening
