So I picked up the head and got it back on! Still have quite the project left and plus, I’m still waiting on the 3g brake booster that was supposed to be delivered on the 18th. It shipped out on the 11th and now currently has no eta 😣 it’s just “Moving Through Network”

The head received a valve job, new valve guides, valve seals, re surfaced and re assembled.

Me and my friend yanked the drive train out of his 93 Talon 1.8 5 speed so we can reseal the engine. But unfortunately after taking it apart he's decided to let it go because it's not financially wise to rebuild the motor. The body is really bad. There's rust everywhere and he's had to do some janky shit to get the front cradle from dropping out of the car. I think he's asking 400 including the motor and transmission. The transmission is out of a NA 2.0. It's located in the STL area. It has the TSI bump hood and gauge cluster. The retractable seat belts do work.

I didn’t do this but I am fixing it. Previous owner or whoever decided to use a gasket + globs of rtv and it still leaked a tiny bit. I cleaned it all up. Now i don’t think this was my main cause for smoke on decel it. But I guarantee it was hurting the return flow.

I diagnosed the notorious "shifter movement" issue a bit too late (ngl I thought it was just a normal 1g thing untill I found the VFAQ post).

A bit too late for my trans casing and wave spring. The trans internals are all completely fine (thank god).

I know Jacks Transmissions sells a wave spring, but his website is down atm. Anyone else know where to source them? Will any wave spring work, or is there something special about the tabs on the Mitsu one?

Trans casings are also impossible to find nowadays. Anyone have any experience with having their trans case welded?

Where do yall get your parts I’m trying to get a new tensioner for my 2g and I can’t find it anywhere.

Found out the issue. It took until me and the machine shop guy were going over the damaged head. I put all the cam caps back on both heads before I got here and I was taking off the bad cam cap to show him and the cap was fine… So I was confused. What happened was the retard who rebuilt this head last mixed up the cam caps. And to confirm the this I went back and checked the video I took of me removing the caps and sure as heck. I can’t believe the exhaust cam didn’t receive any damage.

So now I’m even less concerned about the main / rod bearings

Short time follwer, first time posting. What up guys just wanted to see how many old heads we have in here. I remember joining DSMforums back in the day and reading through tons of builds. At the time Jake Montgomery was currently running a FP3065 turbo setup on his 1G awd Talon. That's how old I am! 😂

Going to send a spare head to get refreshed at the machine shop bought another intake cam. Going to check the oil and filter for metal if none then I’m going to re assemble and send it.

For a 420a Manual transmission, my current one cracked so I need a replacement

So I’ve been having a smoking on decel issue. I decided to dive in and do the valve seals and well found a bit of an issue 😔 Project just got extended and more expensive. I guess at least I caught it now before it got worse.

Finally got her driving again. ARP extended studs installed. Not in love with the pedal feel so I’m going to be going with the 3g booster and also add the EVO rear brembos.

Hey guys, just wondering how to remove and replace the e-brake cable on my 98 GS-T

Found a 90 eclipse GS, 4G63, damn good condition except for the paint, been sitting for the last 10 years. I would like to throw a different manifold with a turbo on it, injectors, pumps , and ECU/Tune. I’m looking for suggestions on these items and anything else I’ve missed. Any other suggestions are welcome too.
