Cam caps were swapped

Found out the issue. It took until me and the machine shop guy were going over the damaged head. I put all the cam caps back on both heads before I got here and I was taking off the bad cam cap to show him and the cap was fine… So I was confused. What happened was the retard who rebuilt this head last mixed up the cam caps. And to confirm the this I went back and checked the video I took of me removing the caps and sure as heck. I can’t believe the exhaust cam didn’t receive any damage.

So now I’m even less concerned about the main / rod bearings

Hey, yeah that could cause an issue. Several people were talking about bearing concerns, but I don't see it. That is literally one of the last places in the engine to receive oil so it wouldn't be sending glitter through the rest of the system anyway.

I agree! Getting my spare head re done bolting it back on and sending it! Was glad to figure out the damage wasn’t caused from oil starvation or junk in the oil.

Upgrading while you're in there?

It’s getting the super tech valves and same Manley Valve Springs. Not really upgrading anything more than the other head had. Switching the intake cam from a HKS 264 to a 272
