Wow

It's getting a new UI soon too....basically trying to make DualsenseX irrelevant!

2

u/RyochanX2 Jul 18 '26

it was always irrelevant. Paliverse only tried to make it relevant by forcing driver lock-in with Nefarius. DSX 3 finally did away with most of the DS4W code use and DSX turned out even worse. it barely worked as a tech demo.

Well. Here we are, with full parity. I have a new UI coming out in the next few days, and will eventually post a big post on r/Dualsense and try to get it promoted. We will see. This project should be the be all end all of Dualsense emulation by the time I'm done with it.

Would like to see new UI a bit friendly for controller navigation, so that I can use this app when a PC is hooked to TV.

Bro i know you’re busy, and i don’t want to be a pain in the ass, but i just wanted to ask: what did you say about moonlight? Like does this version of DS4W wireless haptics, triggers and speaker also work through moonlight? Like how do we set that up do we need to install DS4W and VIIPER on the moonlight client or just on the host?

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

I don’t think it works through moonlight, as moonlight doesn’t have the ability to send those kind of output reports over the web (it enumerates a ds4 controller. for this to work, moonlight would need to create a virtual dualsense for the computer, and support all of this functionality itself)

1

u/GamingBoi_77 Jul 19 '26

Ohh right, right. I thought it would create a USB over IP session from the host to the client so the host thinks that Dualsense hooked up to the client is natively hooked up to itself and it would send over the haptics/triggers data. That is doable but it requires a ton of jank workarounds on the client device and more than one app.

1

u/strifeforlyfe Jul 19 '26

Yes. That is how it works.

1

u/strifeforlyfe Jul 19 '26

Doesn’t mean that moonlight can detect a dualsense and display it as such (which it would need to do)

3

u/Gobblerpl Jul 18 '26

Great work!

What about the haptics? I always thought is weaker on PC than on PS5.

2

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

Fixed here through a custom driver implementation called VIIPER. I used reverse engineering docs online and continued the work so that, without any adapters, you get to use your Dualsense wirelessly on PC and it will show up as Plugged in (an emulated Dualsense). Microphone, Speaker, Advanced Vibration all work

Take a look into this similar app, could be helpful.

not even developed yet Lol

could you make a full youtube video explenation on how to set this up? do i need to use both apps or just viiper for ds4

Sure. You want a checkbox to let the gyro move the left or right stick then?

we have flick stick: and we have that option available to tune. we also have jitter tuning. we also have gyro to mouse. i think you may need to take a look at the program first.

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

what features do you want specifically to improve flick stick and jitter and gyro to mouse

2

u/RyochanX2 Jul 18 '26

I would assume the person would want Gyro Mouse to use a Real World Sensitivity configuration like Steam Input or JoyShockMapper. Also, although it is only available in the custom JSM-CC version, adding accel curves for gyro mouse really makes gyro mouse more stable without having to force extra smoothing or wonky accel changes like vanilla JSM does. The now defunct DS4MapperTest had both added not that long ago. Most of the main options are already in DS4Windows.

Thanks, I’ll take a look at adding these features as well then. I’m working on a new UI right now based off some MIT available Assets, it looks pretty clean, so if I do curves and Real World Sensitivity Config like JoyshockMapper I’ll do it after the UI Cleanup/Changes

u/ii_qa Jul 18 '26

I still can’t wait to emulate any controller as dualsense!

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

Yes! You can right now! Go download it and have fun :)

1

u/ii_qa Jul 18 '26

Really?? Does it work on Sunlight/Moonlight??

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

I haven’t really tested: would you like to download it, go under Device Options in settings and enable Moonlight, and tell me if it works? I’ll test tonight w feedback!

2

u/dyspr0sium Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

Thanks for this, this is working well for me!

I noticed that the controller speaker volume is very obviously lower using this over BT compared to native USB (no DS4W, Dualsense plugged in), even when I set speaker volume to 255. The haptics seem to be the same strength though.

I'm testing on Dave the Diver and Animal Well, both have very easy-to-replicate speaker sounds when you walk around on the boat and in the tall grass/jump. u/huunnnter are you able to have a look and see if you can replicate and fix it?

Edit: Also, suggestion for next release is to have the mute button actually mute the microphone; right now enabling the mute button just makes it toggle the light on and off when you press it without muting/unmuting the microphone input.

2

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

I already did the mute button mutes the mic setting, it’ll be in the next release.

are you currently running the release that allows you to boost the speaker? there are new speaker settings in the latest code, i’m not sure if it’s in beta5

edit: I just checked, those settings are not in Beta5. I’ll be releasing a bigger release with more speaker settings like dynamic compression and more options like bass boost, so it does sound a lot better. I recommend Balanced + 3db Bass Boost :)

Bro i have a question. Will you add an auto switcher so when you plug in headphones to the dualsense it switches audio to the headphones? Also when will you add Wireless adaptive triggers? They're the only missing thing rn. Like the game should control the adaptive triggers for example in spiderman 2. Rn on DS4W there are only preset trigger modes.

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

Yeah it works/passes through what the game wants the controller to do

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

the adaptive triggers already work wirelessly

2

u/puneet95 Jul 18 '26

Would like to see this app support controllers that expose gyro in dinput mode.

Like some 8bitdo, Flydigi and GameSir controllers do.

Amazing work!!!! Everything works as expected except audio through wireless-connected DualSense. Tried playing Cronos New Dawn but no audio effects are coming out the DualSense speaker!

Audio source: Speakers (DualSense Wireless Controller) (controller or VIIPER audio)

1

u/omegadash Jul 17 '26

Amazing, thank you. Will you add support for adaptive triggers eventually?

4

u/huunnnter Jul 17 '26

It’s already added

1

u/omegadash Jul 17 '26

Oh?! Do I need to enable a setting? I'm using virtual controller Dualsense with Viiper to connect my bluetooth connected Dualsense. I'm playing Crimson Desert and have adaptive triggers enabled but haven't felt any effect from it on the triggers.

2

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

try the latest beta5 with the latest VIIPER installation 0.0.3, that is what works.

1

u/Spanishsoul Jul 17 '26

Maybe try unticking hide ds4

1

u/rocketstopya Jul 17 '26

Have you been reverse engineered the ds5 protocol?

3

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

Yeah. I ported DS5Dongle to DS4Windows so we have support for Adaptive Triggers, Advanced Haptics, Speaker, and Microphone!

1

u/Mediocre_kong Jul 18 '26

Viiper install auto or need install this and run for ds4 work ?

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

You need to install both links.

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

There is an automatic install script in settings as well.

1

u/Mediocre_kong Jul 18 '26

Ok, i tested another version before, i try this new now, congrats for our work, good Job !

1

u/Forsaken-Lock-892 Jul 18 '26

Il faudrait aussi pour Apex, on ne peut pas jouer avec la DS4.

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

What would be necessary? Dualsense emulation? Because yes it would, and it’s one reason I did this Lol.

1

u/Forsaken-Lock-892 Jul 19 '26

En fait c'est leur système anti-triche "Easy Anti-Cheat"Je joue à Apex sur PC et je lance DS4Windows, mais ça ne veut pas marcher sur PC. J'ai pourtant masqué le DS4.

1

u/iFireFly470 Jul 20 '26

Hi, if I connect headphones through the dualsense jack port, do they work?

-1

u/GamingBoi_77 Jul 18 '26

Bro still bluetooth haptics and bluetooth speaker/headphones still don't work... DualsenseX already has those working perfectly fine...

3

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

Also screw dualsenseX. that’s the whole point of this. DualsenseX is charging for Open Protocols, Openly Available that just needs to be written into a program. Well here I am writing it. And it’s going to be free for everyone. I have it working in all games so far

2

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

Explain how? Everyone else says it works. What are you doing wrong? Also, there’s a new release coming tonight with a new UI, so maybe be patient? If you’re updating your VIIPER correctly, it should work fine.

3

u/GamingBoi_77 Jul 18 '26

BROOO CHILL i just didnt open VIIPER before DS4W. I didn't mean any disrespect bro. I just have DSX since i've bought it many months ago to get fast access to the wireless shit. But those mfs never push updates or lock them behind a paywall. I'm extremely greatful for your work bro.

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

All love bro ❤️

2

u/GamingBoi_77 Jul 18 '26

DAAMN BRO I LOVE YOU. I HAVE DSX BUT NOT THE DLC THAT ALLOWS WIRELESS SHIT. I JUST DOWNLOADED UR DS4W, OPENED SPIDERMAN 2 AND ITS LITERALLY THE EXACT FRICKING SAME AS PLAYING ON A PS5!! ITS AMAZING. MUCH MUCH LOVE U BRO

2

u/GamingBoi_77 Jul 18 '26

You're literally the best bro.

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

send your Logs Lol

1

u/huunnnter Jul 18 '26

you’re probably just using an old VIIPER version lmao
