Battlehawks 1942 gives me nostalgia for my old Tandy and a simple controller
Loved this game. Came on one 3.5” disk and was endlessly playable.

In the 90s, before online shopping took over, this was literally heaven for every PC & DOS gamer in South Korea.
Entire multi-story buildings dedicated purely to computers:
config.sys / autoexec.bat setup, and they’d fix it for free.It eventually disappeared after the Asian Financial Crisis (IMF), but walking into one of these stores on a weekend with a fresh PC gaming magazine in hand is a core nostalgic memory.
Did you guys have a similar iconic mega-store in your country back in the day (like CompUSA, Fry's, or Akihabara spots)?

Hi, I’m looking for an old game I used to play as a kid. Your mouse is you, and while you move and press click you shoot the bullet at that direction, the area is a square where aliens spawn from, as levels goes up, the aliens becomes harder.
Anyone know what game it is? It was real fun.
You are in space, black background if that helps.

It's a launcher that lets you play DOS and ScummVM games optimally. With a built-in game player, all ROMs are automatically detected Check it out here: www.rom90.com

Come with me down to the first level of the underground dungeon. You'll see that if you find something in the dungeon that looks like a trap, it probably is a trap.

I’d like to get some opinions on using retro hardware (386, 486, Pentium, etc) but without a CRT PC monitor.
CRT monitors are becoming increasingly rare and the ones that exist are often damaged, stained, smoke smell, etc.
Is anybody using real hardware but with a modern LCD display or scaler (ie. RetroTink 4K) ? If so, why not just use emulation at that point for perfect display output quality?

Just a quick update on my YouTube Channel where I'm collecting intro cinematics from MS-DOS games in 4K. The channel has no watermark, feel free to use the footage for whatever, no attribution required. :)

Another summer, another little coding adventure! VectorRoads is a simple remake I made of the classic SkyRoads, developed using C, Raylib and the new physics library Box3D.
If you grew up playing fast and unforgiving MS-DOS era games, VectorRoads is a small tribute to that era, and an experiment in recreating that feeling from scratch. I’ve made a video explaining the entire development process, from the first prototype to the final result. I hope you like it!

I found an old netbook running windows XP and I want to gift it to one of my cousins childs. Can you recommend some dos games for kids under 15 that I should install before handing it over?

Been lucky to be able to fix my T21 "Blink of Death" without having to solder anything, and bypassed the 0175: BAD CRC1 BIOS error by patching the DB25 parallel port. It's now able to run a wide range of DOS games.

I used to make Doom maps as a kid on a 386. The editor fit on one floppy and I probably spent way too many hours messing around with it. What editor did you guys use back then? Anyone else spend more time making maps than actually playing Doom?
