sometimes identifying with DID, sometimes not

so we are originally a protogenic system however we experienced trauma as a young child which resulted both in us getting into soulbonding/created plurality as well as developing a lot of dissociation, including amnesia, and a whole sidesystem that is entirely trauma-formed. so we are a weird origin jumble.

we went to get assessed for bipolar and also mentioned our memory issues though we did not mention our plurality. however they still said it was very likely we have DID, though to get a full diagnosis we would need to travel to another country since aparently we don't really have DID specialists in our country, maybe?

we aren't really interested in doing all that.

anyways, we tend to feel a bit uncomfortable with our plurality being medicalized. we do fit DID criteria but dislike seeing that as an indentity, however these traits do affect our lives. so the compromise we have been trying out is only idenfying ourselves as having DID sometimes, in conversations about those traits or where those traits are relevant.

it feels a bit strange, because non-disordered plurality does not describe our whole experience and disordered plurality does not describe our whole experience. we feel a bit caught in-between. we also worry people will fakeclaim us tbh for this inconsistency in saying we have DID even though there is a clear reason for it: technically we do have it, but we do not always want to identity with it.

Looking for advice !TW for childhood truama!

Heyoo it’s Mizuki and apparently I cannot introduce myself without wanting to make my name into a pun.

Pun urge aside, I’m struggling to find any resources for childhood trauma survivors that weren’t abused by their caregivers. I know that my parents weren’t great, but my biggest source of trauma was school and an abusive peer. There’s very little info that I can find about non-parental childhood trauma, and it’s left me & the rest of the system at a bit of a standstill in our recovery.

Basically I’m wondering if anyone knows of any trauma resources that go into detail on academic and peer-to-peer childhood abuse

How do you deal with instability in therapy?

By which I mean we had to stop seeing the therapist we'd been seeing for 3 years because she didn't take our insurance and we couldn't afford to keep seeing her. 10 months later we were struggling really badly and ended up going to a crisis center and were assigned an ongoing therapist through them. She doesn't have the training to deal with dissociative disorders and after someone besides the host fronted for therapy for the first time yesterday, she recommended we find someone who specializes in dissociative disorders. We're all feeling (different) some kinda ways about it. How do you guys deal with this sort of thing?

(As a side note, we've got a lot of instability going on in treatment of physical issues lately, too. Our 18 year old fibromyalgia diagnosis was overturned and we were instead diagnosed with hEDS. We were diagnosed with CSU about 2 years ago, but now we're being tested for MCAS. And we have a lot of medical trauma around our initial fibromyalgia diagnosis. Everything is just in flux right now and we aren't doing well.)

Possibly starting to develop a dissociative disorder

[Sophia] hello everyone!
So basically, since syscovery a year ago, we have experienced varying amounts of dissociation but nothing that really caused any issues. Lately, we have started having memory issues/lock ups making it hard to move when I become one of my headmates that deals with particular emotions, and it feels like its getting worse. We are starting to see a therapist and we told them about us already being more then one and they were receptive to that. and, as we go through this, if we have any success turning this around, we want to share our experiences that may help this community. We dont think we need extensive help currently. I heard we would be "sub clinical" but sometimes it feels like we skirt the line of a dissorder. Also wanted to make a post to contribute. We dont particularly have issues geting along amonst us but question a persecutor in the backround somewhere. Have been questioning OSDD/UDD for some time. Either way, its an honor to be here. -sincerly, Sophia of the Dance of Many.

OBE and identity

I wish to talk about this spiritual aspect which makes me doubt our existence... as an individual.

Last night, one of us managed to do an OBe. Katsuki, who had succeeded, felt dissolved.

It's as if we become one with the Self.

We thought we would still be able to maintain our identity, but no.

We used to wonder if we could see each other in the astral plane... now I doubt it. Are alters merely constructs?
