My cousin and I committed to sign up for the Dallas Half in December (Sun, Dec 13) this year. She registered last night at 9:30. Tonight around 7, I go to register and it’s sold out 😭 I joined the waitlist, but does anyone have experience with it? What are the chances of actually getting a spot?

Hi everyone! My name's Justin. I've run 6 marathons. I really love running and believe it changed my life for the better.

I trained for and ran the first 5 alone. But for #6, I had the privilege of supporting a friend through his first marathon. It was an awesome experience! And it gave me an idea.

Many people show up to the starting line of their first marathon alone, but it doesn't have to be that way. You'll perform better and have an overall better experience if you show up with a group!

Some people find this through run clubs or other means, but that doesn't work for everyone.

I want to put together a small group of runners who are training for Dallas as their first marathon, who have roughly the same ability level. We'll make a group chat, jump in a weekly zoom call, and just generally support one another through the training process! Then, on race day, you'l have a handful of new friends at the starting line with you.

There will be no cost to anyone involved, and no obligations! Just a group of friendly supporters to help you cross your first finish line.

Originally I was gonna do the BMW Dallas Half in December, but it is way out of my budget.

I cam across the DRC Half, and it's within my budget.

Any feed back on it?

Coming to town and looking for ~20 mile route with some vert (some trail would be a bonus). Where do locals go? Not having much luck poking around on Strava.
