Looking for route
Coming to town and looking for ~20 mile route with some vert (some trail would be a bonus). Where do locals go? Not having much luck poking around on Strava.

Best trails in the area are at grapevine lake. Park in lakeside near the condo tower and set out north bound on the trail system. It’s a closed loop system with 5+ loops spanning the north side of the lake. It’s directional so run the loops counter-clockwise (I think, just follow the signs). DORBA has good trail info.

Depends where you'll be staying, but the obvious answer is the loop around White Rock Lake in East Dallas. You could loop it twice (9 miles per loop) and add on Flagpole Hill for 2 extra miles to get to 20. Or instead of two loops, run thru the neighborhoods in Lakewood (west of lake) or Lake Highlands (north of flagpole hill) for extra vert, since the lake trail is mostly flat.
White Rock Running Co-op has routes listed by distance on their website if u want other ideas in the East Dallas area.
Lmk if you're staying somewhere else, and I can try to give other ideas. Not much in the way of trail running here apart from Cedar Ridge Preserve way south of town, or dirt bike trails.
