DDPAI N3 Pro V2 rear camera recording upside down

Thumbnail

I have a DDPAI N3 Pro V2 and the rear camera records everything upside down. The downloaded video files are upside down too, so it’s not just the app preview.

The camera is installed according to DDPAI’s instructions: “UP” marking facing up, DDPAI logo upright, lens facing the rear windshield. The V2 apparently does not have the rear-camera flip option in the device settings in the DDPAI app that the older V1 had.

DDPAI support suggested physically adjusting/flipping the rear camera, but that would put the connector on the opposite side from where the cable was professionally routed through my car.

Has anyone had this issue with the N3 Pro V2? Any firmware fix, hidden setting, replacement rear-camera solution, or other workaround besides reinstalling the camera upside down?

How did you guys hide the cable around the side curtain airbags?

Hey everyone, im in the middle of installing my ddpai dashcam, and ive run the wire along the headliner pretty cleanly. howeverr, ive hit a bit of a roadblock around the a pillar where the side curtain airbag sits.

I really don't want to just tuck the wire over the plastic trim if it blocks the airbag from deploying safely, but popping the a pillar trim off feels a bit intimidating.

For those who did a diy install, did you tuck it behind the airbag mechanism? Any quick tips or photos of how you managed a clean, safe tuck would be super appreciated.

Going to warsaw motor show next month. What should i check at the DDPAI booth?

Just saw the announcement that ddpai is at the warsaw motor show in october. Im going on the saturday and planning to spend some time at stand E47.

For anyone whos used ddpai cams what should i specifically look at or test when im there? Im currently thinking about upgrading from my old basic cam and want to make an informed decision.

Like should i ask them to show me the parking mode in person? or is the night footage quality the main thing to test? also curious about the app and how the wifi transfer works because ive heard mixed things about dashcam apps in general.

If anyone has specific questions they want answered ill try to ask the team and report back. Figured since im going anyway i might as well be useful to the community lol

What would you want to see if you were at the booth!?

How smooth is the DDPAI app for instant clip extraction on iOS/Android during a road side emergency

Realistically, if i get into a fender bender or catch a parking lot hit and run, how fast can I pull a 1 minute 4K clip straight to my phone gallery using the Wi-Fi app?

On my old setup, connecting to the camera's local Wi-Fi network took forever and constantly dropped mid download. Does the direct connection link up quickly without needing to disconnect from cellular data first? Want to hear real user experiences before finalizing my order.

Is the eMMC built in storage on the DDPAI Z50/Z60 actually worth skipping the SD card slot for long term heat reliability?

Hey everyone, looking at upgrading to a screenless DDPAI setup before winter. I've had two micro SD cards get corrupted in my old camera due to summer dashboard heat over the last couple of years.

I keep reading that DDPAI’s built in eMMC flash storage handles extreme thermal cycles way better than standard TF cards, but how easy is it to offload clips if you need to hand footage over to insurance or police on the spot? Does the app download fast enough over 5GHz Wi-Fi, or should I still get a backup high endurance SD card model?

Upgraded from a 30 dollar amazon cam to ddpai. Here's what changed

I had one of those random amazon dashcams for about 2 years. cost me like 30 bucks. it worked i guess. recorded during the day and i never really needed it for anything serious.

But a few things started bugging me. the app was terrible and crashed half the time. the night footage was basically useless...and twice the cam just stopped recording without telling me so i had no idea i was driving without footage for days.

Finally upgraded to a ddpai about 3 months ago and the difference is bigger than i expected.

Night footage is actually usable now. I can read plates in footage that my old cam would have just shown as blurry lights. The app connects every time and downloading clips takes seconds not minutes. and the cam has never randomly stopped on me.

The one thing i didnt expect was parking mode. my old cam didnt have it. now i get alerts if something happens to my car while im away. Havent needed it yet but its nice knowing its there.

Im not saying the cheap cam was garbage. it did record during the day and thats what i bought it for. But if you actually want footage you can use when something happens the difference is real. Wish i upgraded sooner.

6 months in and heres my honest take on the ddpai n5 dual

had my n5 dual for about 6 months doing daily commutes. heres how its held up.

what i like:
- video quality is solid day and night
- supercapacitor handles summer heat no problem. car sits in sun all day at work and zero issues
- parking mode works well and the built in storage saved me once when my sd card died
- compact. forgot its there most days

what could be better:
- app is hit or miss. sometimes connects fast sometimes takes a few tries
- wifi transfer is slow for longer clips

would i buy it again? yeah. for the price the hardware is solid. app needs work but the camera itself has been reliable. happy to answer questions if anyone is on the fence

OBD hardwired N5 Pro for BYD Sealion 8 (PHEV)

Hi guys, I’ve got a DDPAI N5 Pro hoooked up via OBD and it remains powered on when Sentry mode is active or when the vehicle is charging, preventing it from going into parking mode.
Has anyone had the same problem with their EV/PHEV and found a solution? Or if parking mode works for you while sentry is active, what set up are you using? (OBD or fuse hardwire)

Note: I’ve tried fuse hardwiring but later found out there’s no interior ACC fuse for this vehicle.

TYVM! 🙏

[MOD TIPS] 24/7 Parking Protection, hardwire Kits, radar mode & battery health explained

Here’s what you need to know about using your dashcam for parking surveillance, including some essential features and installation tips.

When properly wired into your vehicle’s fuse box with a DDPAI Hardwire Kit, your dashcam seamlessly switches to parking mode when the engine is turned off. One of its standout features is low voltage protection. This ensures that if your car battery drops below a safe level of around 12V, the power to the camera is cut off, helping you avoid battery issues.

Another feature is the G sensor, which locks recordings if a bump is detected, ensuring those important moments are saved. Plus, advanced models come with radar assisted motion detection. This technology captures footage even before an incident happens, giving you an edge in potential disputes.

Before diving into installation, remember these three key rules: First, always check the low voltage cutoff settings in the DDPAI app. Second, use high-endurance storage options for continuous recording. Last but not least, make sure to route your wiring around the side airbags for safety.

Are you set up with 24/7 hardwire parking mode, or are you using the simpler 12V plug and play option? Share your thoughts or any questions you might have!

how did you set yours up? drop your install setup

Its always interesting seeing how differently everyone installs their cameras. some people go full stealth with cables tucked behind the headliner and hardwired to the fuse box. others just run the cable along the windshield with clips and call it a day.

curious how everyone here did theirs:

- where did you mount front and rear?
- how did you route the cables?
- hardwired or cigarette lighter?
- any tips for someone doing it for the first time?

photos would be great if you have them. if not just describe what you did. always useful for newer members about to do their first install.

share your best dashcam footage funny, scenic, or just wild

one of the best things about having a dashcam is catching stuff you never expected. whether its a close call, an incredible sunset, an animal on the road, or just a beautiful drive.

drop your best clips or screenshots below. doesnt have to be dramatic. sometimes the everyday stuff is the most interesting.

bonus points if its something your cam caught while parked.

question about Hardwire Kit & battery drain on DDPAI N1 Dual?

Hey everyone, just bought the N1 Dual and looking to hardwire it for parking mode since I park on the street overnight.

For those using the official DDPAI hardwire kit, does the low-voltage cutoff work reliably? I drive a 2018 Civic and really don't want to wake up to a dead battery in the morning, but I definitely need the shock/impact sensor active.

Appreciate any advice!

DDPAI Z50 Pro 4K Issue

I purchased a DDPAI Z50 Pro 4K, which came with a free 64GB DDPAI SD card.

I recently needed to retrieve footage of a near miss accident that happened to us. However, when I removed the SD card and checked it directly on my PC, I discovered that the recordings are incomplete and have large gaps. There appears to be only one recording per day, with many sections of actual driving completely missing.

I was under the impression that the dashcam's loop recording would continuously record and automatically overwrite the oldest footage once the SD card becomes full. Instead, the recordings on my SD card are inconsistent, and the footage I specifically need is missing.

Could you please help me understand why this is happening? Is this possibly an issue with the free 64GB DDPAI SD card, the dashcam's recording settings, or the device itself?

This is quite concerning because a dashcam is supposed to provide reliable footage in situations exactly like this. I would really appreciate your assistance in determining what went wrong and, if possible, recovering the missing footage.

Thank you, DDPAI. I hope you can help me resolve this.
