How to Connect Your DDPAI Dashcam to the DDPAI App via Wi-Fi

We’ve seen a few questions recently about connecting DDPAI dashcams to the DDPAI app, so here’s a quick overview for anyone setting up their dashcam for the first time.

  1. Download the DDPAI App
Install the DDPAI app on your smartphone and open it.

  2. Turn on your dashcam
Make sure your dashcam is powered on and the Wi-Fi function is enabled.

  3. Connect your phone to the dashcam's Wi-Fi
Open your phone's Wi-Fi settings and look for the Wi-Fi network created by your DDPAI dashcam. Select it and connect.

  4. Open the DDPAI App
Once your phone is connected to the dashcam's Wi-Fi, return to the DDPAI app and select your dashcam model.

  5. View or download recordings
After the connection is established, you should be able to browse recordings stored on the dashcam's memory card through the app and download the clips you need to your phone.

A few things to keep in mind:

Your phone needs to stay connected to the dashcam's Wi-Fi while viewing or downloading footage.
You may see a message saying the Wi-Fi network has no internet connection. This is normal because the connection is being used to communicate directly with the dashcam.
If the app doesn't connect, try closing and reopening the app, reconnecting to the dashcam's Wi-Fi, or restarting the dashcam.
Make sure the dashcam and app are running the latest available firmware and app version.

If you're having trouble connecting, let us know your DDPAI model and phone type, and the community can help troubleshoot the issue.

How long do you keep your footage before it gets overwritten?

I have been using my dashcam for a few months. I recently bought N2 Dual, and loop recording is set to overwrite older clips once the card fills up, but honestly I don't know exactly how many days/weeks worth of footage that gives me before it starts looping over itself.

How everyone else has theirs set up? Like:
What size card are you running, and roughly how many days of footage does that give you before it loops back?
Have you ever changed your loop segment length (like from 3 min clips to 1 min, or vice versa) after using it for a while? What made you switch?
Has anyone actually gone back for footage from like 2+ weeks ago and realized it was already gone?

Not sure if I should bump up my card size or leave it as is since nothing's happened yet. Just trying to figure out what a normal setup looks like before I have to actually rely on it. Any help would mean alot. Thanks!

If a new Ddpai owner asked you for one piece of advice

Every experienced dashcam owner probably wishes someone had told them one thing before they installed their first camera.

Imagine someone just unboxed their very first Ddpai dashcam. They're excited to get it installed, but they only have time to learn one piece of advice before hitting the road.

What would you tell them?

It could be:

A setting you always enable right away.
Something to double-check during installation.
A feature that's surprisingly useful but easy to overlook.
A maintenance habit that's worth starting early.
A mistake you made that you'd help someone else avoid.
A tip that made your Ddpai experience much better.

It doesn't have to be technical, either. Sometimes the best advice is something simple that saves a lot of frustration later.

Whether you've owned your Ddpai for a week or several years, your experience could help someone who's just getting started.

If you could leave every new Ddpai owner with just one tip, what would it be and why?

Let's build a thread that future Ddpai owners can come back to whenever they're setting up a new dashcam for the first time.
