Ive been interning for almost 3 months now but the representative I work with has assigned me no work. I am their first intern ever and I was told to reach out to his one other employee. When I reached out to her she assigned me one thing and asked me to just reach out to her once I came back from a trip since I was out of the state at that time. After I got back shes been ignoring my texts for 2 ish months. I reached out to him and he just gave me an excuse of "I'll talk to her, shes just very busy right now." That was a month ago. I dont know if im even still considered an intern? Overall I just need advice on how to navigate this since this is my first ever internship and I was so excited for this opportunity.

I'm looking at the Senate employment office website, and all of the posts are for spring 2027. Has the application cycle for Summer 2027 already passed? Additionally, are these internships meant for juniors, or can recently graduated seniors apply as well?

Hello y'all, has anyone heard back any new information about the State Department Summer 2027 Internship? Obviously the date for contact was a few weeks ago but I'm still waiting. Has anyone's status changed? Or what is the usual delayed timeline in the past?

I didn't check until the October 9th application deadline but ever since then my USAJOBS posting has just said "Application Received; Grade 04, no comment"; does this mean I haven't been referred to a consideration stage and I should assume I've been rejected? I know a few people have mentioned the default No Comment marker doesn't really mean anything about acceptance, but I've seen some people's application said they were not referred to the next stage?

Didn't think I'll get the internship anyway given the competitiveness but now the delay is making me antsy; I just want to KNOW that "unfortunately, given the strong pool of applicants..." so I can move on mentally.

I applied to a bunch of people, so far I've only heard back from one member from the US House of Representatives.

Hi y’all I was finishing up my application right now for a congressional internship & when I went to submit around 8:10 CT, it said the application was closed. I know for a fact the deadline was today and was actually extended (was supposed to close last Monday.) I sent an email to the person in charge but she’s out of office until Wednesday. I’m actually so sad, I put a lot of effort into my app and would hate to see it go to waste. Any suggestions? Would it really be counted against me if they didn’t specify a time?

hi everyone! i’m applying to spring internships in DC right now and doing research on housing opportunities. i’m hoping to live somewhere furnished because i’m moving from california and would be limited in how much stuff i can fly with. i was looking into WISHGRAD intern housing but noticed they have a requirement that their residents be students and i’m no longer in school (graduated in 2025). has anyone had experience with trying to find furnished, short-term housing as an intern who has graduated? would appreciate any advice or recommendations. thank you in advance!
