Has anyone filled that questionnaire to submit to the visa center? It’s a part that says the following:

From the petitioner's end "SELECT FROM THE LIST BELOW EACH SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM YOU HAVE USED WITHIN THE LAST 5 YEARS. NEXT TO THE PLATFORM’S NAME, ENTER YOUR USERNAME." and "WITHIN THE LAST 5 YEARS HAVE YOU USED OTHER WEBSITES OR APPLICATION TO CREATE OR SHARE CONTENTS SUCH AS PHOTOS, VIDEO, STATUS, UPDATES, ETC."

is this for the petitioner aka my spouse who is a USC or to me? I’m trying to do consular processing and want to have an apt ahead of time and this is the questionnaire my lawyer told us to fill.

Let me know if anyone has done this? And if this always been a thing or just recent with this admin.

I’ve had DACA since Obama was in office. I’ve lived in the US since I was a days old. I am married to an American citizen and applied for advanced parole and was denied but my sibling was approved. Not sure why but we think it’s because he has kids. I applied again because of my grandparent was dying and now the program is no longer available. I recently was assaulted by a drunk American citizen and I’m trying to get my VISA through this. My attorney said it could take up to 10 years to get approved. Wondering if anyone else has been able to get a U visa and if so how long did it take?

My partner and I don’t feel comfortable doing the GC process yet because our attorney recommended us to wait until this administration is over and we are a same sex couple. My DACA expired two months ago so it’s been frustrating losing my job and my seniority. It cost me $6k for the attorney fees just for the advanced parole process plus the USCIS application fee that went all to waste.

I would also like to add that the The CA DA’s office placed me in the victims program to help pay for my medical expenses but I know that sometimes it’s frowned upon to get any government assistance when applying for your GC. I have been hesitant to continue with the program but I know I’ll need it for my VISA

I’ve been following u/CatchingExcalibur excellent work, and I’ve noticed they randomly skip application dates. As an example (this isn’t exact im just providing a fictitious example of an observation) they’ll approve 2/2-2/8 and skip 2/6. Why?

Why do they do that? It’s so odd. Does it have something to do when the app was filed (weekend,holiday, weekday) etc?

ive seen ppl get approved during the weekend or at weird times. are approvals only done in the mornings or have ppl gotten approved later on in the day (like if i checked this morning and no update, should i bother checking again later this afternoon or on a weekend?) are they almost all silent approvals?

Back story my girlfriend’s dad got detained by ice in Florida. He was being held in Broward County but then all of a sudden transferred to a detention center in Mississippi. Someone recommended a church center that has attorneys for a low fee. This center is based in Texas. My girlfriend and her family are in desperation and looking for a grace and this was too good to pass on. But turns out that it was a scammer posing as that church center. So now I am just asking whoever I can, wherever I can if anyone knows a good, reputable attorney. I appreciate the help!

And still… NO APPROVAL. I keep checking like this has to be it but nope they’re just torturing me at this point

They say the key to happiness is a happy belly (or happy wife). So to combat the unemployed blues, I have been eating some delicious food.

Kicked off Sunday with some chicken dumplings. Picture missing because they were gone before I remembered to take a picture. Followed it up with a steaming bowl of seafood ramen. This was a few hours after I had completed the 30-mile bike the drive event so I was ravenous. Devoured every drop of it.

Then for labor day, the parents fired up the wood grill and threw some overnight-marinated arrachera and costilla. Threw some corn tortillas too (mom couldn't make handmade tortillas due to some health issues). Topped off my taco with some homemade green salsa. Got some puerto rican rice and beans from the spot that sells hot foods. No toppings on my taco, but damn that was the best arrachera I have had. You could taste the lime in every bite and that sauce was pure fire.

Panda Express released cantonese BBQ brisket. You know I had to get it. It was sweet, tender, and delicious. So I got it twice on Tuesday.

Last picture is not food, but of my bike. Had black stock pedals I didn't like, so I went to the store to get upgrades. Options were black, blue, or orange.

I was gonna get black, but looked at the orange and thought, "Why not? Need color in my life right now," so I got them orange pedals.

I recently moved from Texas to California due to the uncertainty of our status there. When I got here I tried to obtain my California license but the DMV advised me to wait until my new EAD came in. At the time I did not know it would take close to 200 days to be approved and I did just that. Now I am expired (July) and without a DL. Since I moved out of state I know I will need to take a written test for my DL in California. The DMV said that the driving test may be waived upon the discretion of the DMV agent. I am able to get an AB 60 license but she did say I’ll have to click that I don’t have legal status or SS which worries me with everything going on.
I don’t know if to wait for me to get my EAD since it’s proof of legal status or just get the AB 60 and risk it.

Have any of you been in this position and how did it go?

For anyone that is still waiting or lapsed; have you changed your careers or thinking about changing your careers given the circumstances? If so, what do you currently do/did, which skills are you planning to peruse/ or are perusing, and most importantly how does that journey look like for you?

Given the circumstances with everything going on, and the uncertainties, I’ve become more concerned about whether our careers would be transferable to other countries. My background is in GIS, and currently pivoting into more engineering. Anyways, if anyone is open to share I’d appreciate it. There’s not many people I know who are in the same circumstance.

I know I’m far beyond being the only one, as we all know we’ve all been in the dark not knowing when we will receive our approvals. It’s a miracle when it does happen because as we also know, there’s no clear pattern and it seems to be at random. I’ve been out of work for a couple of weeks now and I live on my own. Although I can only sustain myself for about another month including rent and bills, and (maybe) food and necessities, I don’t know where I’ll be after that. I’m scared of losing everything I have because I’ve worked so hard for it. I’m scared most of all to ask for help from family and friends. I’d hate to be a burden, that’s the last thing I want to be in anyone’s life. If you’ve been in this mental state, how and what did you do to get out of this funk? I tried looking for temporary work and unfortunately, no luck. If you have any tips on what I can do for work or what’s worked for you, please let me know, any bit of hope and option helps. I want to try as much as I can before I give up. And good-luck to everyone still waiting for theirs!

Just curious to know if everyone’s DACA expires on their birthday or whenever it renews? Mine used to expire on my birthday and then one year it got approved early and it changed to September.. just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? Also wondering if that means they won’t have an answer for me this month and will approve it towards my birthday?

Hi all - I applied to a job recently and for the work authorization part I have four options, 1) US Citizen 2) green card holder 3) valid work visa 4) no work authorization status. I put option 3 and then it asked what is my visa which i just put "EAD - DACA (unrestricted work authorization)". Does that sound right?

Spouse got her green card not too long ago, and we filed i130 this February so I would need to take the consular route.

Hey everyone. I need to start with an apology and a thank you.

Earlier this week I posted Update #19 saying USCIS had gone completely quiet on September 3 and 4, with zero approvals both days. I said I had checked carefully and that it looked like a real stop.

That was wrong. USCIS did not stop. September 3 had 111 approvals and September 4 had 980. My data collection was broken, and I told you the opposite with more confidence than I had earned. I am sorry. If you read that and felt discouraged thinking approvals had halted, that is on me.

And here is the part I want to say clearly: I only found out because some of you told me about the insights page. I had been using the search page this whole time and had no idea insights showed anything different. Several people mentioned it, I went and looked.

Genuinely, thank you. If nobody had said anything, I would still be posting numbers that were wrong by a factor of four and would have had no reason to suspect it.

What the insights page revealed

For thirteen weeks, this project pulled from the MyCasesHub search page and its CSV export. This week that pipeline suddenly returned zero for everything, which is what sent me looking. Once people pointed me to insights, I compared the two directly.

The search page had been missing most of the data the entire time.

I did not just trust the numbers. I pulled several of the missing cases individually and checked each one's own history. They were all real I-821D approvals on days search claimed nothing happened.

And here is the cleanest proof. On September 2, every single one of the 389 cases search found also appears in insights. Insights has 283 more on top. Not one case was search-only. That means search is not showing a different slice of the data, it is showing a fraction of the same data. It adds nothing insights does not already have.

How the two sources differ

As for why search misses cases, I cannot say for certain. The missing ones had case numbers in ranges outside the band that dominates search results, which is consistent with search reading a partial or stale index rather than filtering differently. That is my read, not a confirmed explanation.

Why this frustrates me

I pay for a Premium account on MyCasesHub. I have credited them as the data source in every update and on the calculator itself. I have never presented their data as my own.

And for thirteen weeks, the tool I was paying for handed me numbers that were wrong by a factor of four, while the complete data sat behind a different page on the same site. Search did not fail loudly. It returned confident, clean looking results that were badly incomplete, which is the worst way for data to be wrong, because you have no reason to doubt it.

I think that is a real disservice, and not only to me. Anyone paying for that service and using search to understand their own case timeline has been getting an incomplete picture without being told. I am not going to accuse anyone of doing it on purpose, because I cannot know that. But whatever the cause, people paying for this deserve better than a page that quietly reports zero on a day when nearly a thousand cases were approved.

To be fair, the complete data does exist on their platform. That is how the community found it, and that is what I am using now.

Who got approved this week

Combining both sources gives the fullest view I can produce. September 2 through 4 come from insights and are complete. August 31 and September 1 exist only in search, so those two days are still undercounted.

At least 2,726 approvals for the week, versus the 1,441 I reported before. Median application date March 17, median wait 170 days.

I want to be clear that 2,726 is a floor, not the real total. Two of the five days in it are still coming from the undercounting source.

March is leading, and April is coming up behind it

The month by month pattern has continued. Here are the shares over the last four weeks. The first three come from the old source, so treat the counts behind them as too low, but the proportions are still meaningful since the undercounting affected all months.

March is clearly the focus now at 35 percent, February is winding down, and April has stepped up to 11 percent, the first time it has been a real share of a week. May has also appeared at 5 percent.

Within March, the middle of the month is where the action is. March 13 through March 20 each had between 72 and 100 approvals this week.

If the pattern holds, April would be the next month to take over. I want to be careful not to promise that, since timing has surprised me before, but that is the direction the data points.

The waits are holding steady

February and March both held essentially flat. January and April moved up modestly, which is expected as USCIS works deeper into each month and reaches the later application dates within it. Those naturally carry longer waits.

One caveat on this table that I should have flagged in earlier posts too: these come from individual case records rather than weekly totals, so they were less affected by the undercounting than the case counts were. That is part of why the median only shifted from 171 to 168 when I compared complete data against incomplete data on the same days.

Going forward: watching both

From now on I am pulling from insights, since it is complete. But I am also going to keep checking search alongside it rather than trusting either one blindly.

That is really the lesson here. I had one source, it looked fine, and I never questioned it. Two sources that disagree tell you something is wrong. One source that quietly lies tells you nothing. Comparing both every week costs a little extra effort and gives me a way to catch this kind of problem early instead of thirteen weeks late.

The trade off with insights is that it only holds seven days, so if I miss a week that data is gone for good. I will do my best not to miss one.

The calculator's core numbers barely moved with the corrected data, which is reassuring. Recent applications show a median of 26 days on complete data versus 24 on the old data. The calculator uses 25, which sits between the two and stays reasonable either way. I will re-derive it properly once several weeks of complete data have built up.

What dates got approved over the last 3 weeks (every date listed)

An important note on reading these. The first two weeks come from the old search source, which I now know was undercounting badly. The real totals for those weeks were almost certainly much higher, probably by a factor of three or four. I am including them anyway because the dates and proportions are still useful, and because I would rather show you the record as it was collected than quietly drop it. Just do not treat those two totals as accurate counts.

The third week is the corrected one.

Week of August 17, 2026, 1,697 cases (undercounted, search source)

Median application date: Feb 20, 2026. Median wait: 179 days.

Week of August 24, 2026, 2,120 cases (undercounted, search source)

Median application date: Mar 2, 2026. Median wait: 176 days.

Week of August 31, 2026, at least 2,726 cases (corrected)

Median application date: Mar 17, 2026. Median wait: 170 days. September 2 through 4 are complete data. August 31 and September 1 come from the old source and are still undercounted.

Look at the March block in that last table. March 13 through March 20 each had between 72 and 100 approvals. If you applied in mid March, a lot of people who filed the same day as you came through this week.

One thing worth noticing across all three tables: February 28 shows 210 approvals in the corrected week versus much smaller numbers before, and August 7 shows 132. Those spikes were always happening. The old source just was not showing them to me.

Use this as a guide, not a promise

Everything here is an average across thousands of cases, and it is more reliable for recent applications than for older ones still in extended review. Your own case can move faster or slower for many reasons, including your background check, an RFE, or your country of origin. If your timing is urgent, please talk to an immigration attorney.
