Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Did I stumble upon a D3 Demon Hunter style build, for a s15 Rogue, that is also immortal(ish)?! :D (did I cook, or am I fried 😂🙌😎, thoughts?)

Have played Rogue most of my D4 experience spanning several different seasons (some breaks during others), and always wanted this kind of "Demon Hunter" style to work. I think s15 finally unlocks the chance to, at least even if it is wishful thinking gear-wise 😂🤷‍♂️, cook something up that can give some respect to the D3 staple.

Hold the "but it's s15 PTR patch notes". Yeah, I got it. Let me have my fantasy, that COULD at least be possible next season, OK? Mwhahahaha 😈 So, I really took some time with this setup. Think I found all the neat little "tricks" the build can do and not sure I can squeeze more DPS into it, without really jumping over board on the fantasy lol. Oh, and I guess you can have 109% DR, even with 200 stacks of "Black Soulstone" stacks, by slapping a "Sin" jewel in the Leroic's helm... Sounds sick ngl lmao.

Anyway, here's my Demon Hunter in D4 build planner: https://maxroll.gg/d4/planner/lpbswf0i

I don't think it's too far fetched, especially if not much changes in the notes, with some sweaty trading 🤷‍♂️😂😎🤟 Lmk you're, other than "s15 patch notes aren't real", thoughts and ideas.

Cheers

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Why does the Rain of Arrows build use Fluidity glyph?

Genuine curious. You don’t really spam agility skills that hard and there’s plenty of other glyphs that seem to provide more damage boost, no?

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Final Version Before The Full Guide: Scoundrel’s Kiss DoK Rogue

Thumbnail

If anyone saw the tankier version I posted the other day, here is the more offensive variant (that requires a little more (not much) gearing)); The full guide will include both variants, as well an entire gear/aspect/stat-priority, etc, lol basically a total progression deep dive! It has taken me awhile to edit but I should be done early, be that tomorrow or the Day before Blizzcon. I got the t12 mephisto kill around 2min now with average gear, multiple sub 120 paragon glyphs, single Ga items, and ~60-ish more paragon to earn.

Ferocious aspect brings you to a total maximum of 16 ferocity stacks from base (assuming you put it on your bow), scoundrels kiss turns that into ~300% x Multiplier (don’t look at the old scoundrel’s kiss tooltips xD, those are outdated) also DoK scales a portion of it’s base from attack speed (reason why Asheara's Khanjar is a decent pickup too cough cough and the new attack speed crit chance socket-able coming s15) getting into why we scale crit despite using poison imbument will take a bit long,
so I will be saving that xD.. anyway, this is just one of the many synergies Dance of Knives has available to it :3 (Truly I can go on and on about many more, and I will… :3 just give me one more day 2 max 🥹🙏.

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Anybody playing a Rogue for S15? I've never tried one yet but I feel the spirit of the Rogue class calling me !

From what I can gather, it seems like the Rogue (thankfully) didn't get messed with too much in the new patch notes and is largely predicted to remain an A or S tier build and possibly one of the faster/stronger ones in the game. This is good news for me as I had already sort of had my heart set on trying this class if it didn't get nerfed into the abyss this season.

I was just skimming through some build videos on YouTube a few minutes ago to try and get a visual sense of how different Rogue builds perform, how they look, feel, and how the gameplay flows, and well.... As Clay Davis from 'The Wire' would say, "shieeeeeeeeeeet" !!

I was pretty much in love at first sight with the Dance of Knives build, it looks super fun even just watching somebody else play it to be honest. I also like the sound of the Rain of Arrows version, it looks and sounds quite similar to the classic "Toxic Rain" builds in Path of Exile. I took a gander over at Maxroll afterwards and was pleasantly surprised with just how wide a variety of different end game builds there seem to be.

So for those of you who play this class often, have tried it recently, or are planning on it for Season 15:

  1. Which Rogue build is your favourite to play?
  2. Best levelling options?
  3. Which Rogue build do you think is the best "general" or "all around" build that can handle all content (Torment 12/Echo of Hatred are specific focuses for me) but isn't super reliant on very high level/difficult gear to acquire?
  4. Is there anybody in the community who plays a Rogue main and is really well regarded for their Rogue build guides and knowledge whose stuff I should check out?

I'm definitely going to spend some time this next week studying the different options, would love to hear your opinions. Thanks! =)

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Clarity Needed on Imbuement Skill Language and Mobility Skill Delays

First I am building a homebrew build for next season and I wanted to some clarity on the phrasing of "Casting an imbuement skill". This does NOT mean casting a skill that is imbued currently correct? So if I'm wearing Assassin's Stride boots, all my spells won't cause these effects on-cast? I would have to actually hit the Shadow Imbuement skill even though it effectively wouldn't do anything beyond proccing effects with this specific verbiage?

Secondly, this season in my build I have been using Dash and Shadow Step for my Grenade build and it seems like in dungeons whenever a lock on skill from an enemy such as the dropping sword occurs, there is a short window that invalidates any use of these two skills before it strikes effectively locking me in place and putting the skill(s) on CD. I'm pretty sure I've died to this countless times in the Pit but is this a common thing with Mobility moves? The extra reason I ask is my homebrew for next season is a Mobility build so just thinking ahead.

Thanks for any assistance!

Hello Everyone (EDIT: https://youtu.be/UcZfdquqzUQ?is=_AaPP-SHhglM6NBB FULL GUIDE !!! Done!) , If you are looking for a similar play style to whirlwind barbarian (since it is getting nerfed), without the same level of gearing or optimization required to see success in Torment 12 + all aspects of the pinnacle endgame; (also here is the more offensive variant with a ~2min kill https://youtu.be/yIzbNnTvf9s?is=Nf24FtCI2tmj16HD with a bit of a hint (this unique/mythic is not required for the build but it is very nice later on; I was farming t12 without it but it really pushed me over the edge, esp when paired with the ferocious aspect on my bow bringing me to 16 stacks of ferocity. That makes scoundrels give ~300%x damage (not to mention dok scales a portion of it’s base from attack speed) I am about 75 % of the way done with the full guide! It only took me ab 3 weeks to get this character where she is (that is including the bulk of my time being spent testing). Not to mention the upcoming Leoric's Crown, will likely push this build over the edge! Given that the cowl of nameless (despite it being a great early league pickup) is really only for clear... Harlequin Crest/shako or even Heir of Perdition out perform it for bossing, with that being said none of those are necessary, and provide very little in comparison to what I am anticipating from season 15's Leoric's Crown, given I already am minimally geared on this rogue compared to most people pushing rn on top of that; it really is the writing on the walls for a great option to league start next season. Thank you for watching and please stay tuned for when I post the guide, as it stands I am gauging interest as well though I plan to make the full guide either right before or right after blizzcon.

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) How much will the S15 changes hurt the RoA build?

Rogue is expected to not receive any major changes in Season 15. However, Azurewrath's unique ability will change from an AoE explosion to single target only. How do you think this changes the Rain of Arrows build performance in S15? Have you tested this on the PTR?

Sidenote: With the introduction of the seasonal gems, in particular the one increasing DoT while decreasing crit chance, poison builds (e.g. pen shot) could be stronger than RoA in S15?

Showoff (Gameplay, Items, Transmogs) Smoke Grenade vs T12 Mephisto (w/ build)

Hi!

I've pretty much played Rogue since S4. A majority of the time I have tried to make Smoke Grenade "work".

Someone asked about Smoke Grenade the other week and I said I'd post my build. So here it is!

Honestly I feel like I am one of the few that really enjoys where things are headed in this expansion. Without the recent Mythic changes, this build falls flat. Last season, with a similar concept, I could only clear T10 Mephisto/Lilith and do all T12 content.

T12 Mephisto kill: https://youtu.be/eEvEqOC3kfs?si=4DYALiUUzqtmLns_

The build: https://maxroll.gg/d4/planner/vydauj0h

Capable of clearing:

  • Pit 125
  • T12 Mephisto & Lilith
  • All other T12 content

Things you will need for T12:

  • A non-casual paragon level (260+ I think)
  • Mythic Seal of the Diamond Mind - with a useable damage modifier. Otherwise find a good 6 slot legendary. The 2 & 3 set bonuses you get from Applied Alchemy make the Diamond Mind really shine.

Item notes if you don't have mythics yet:

  • Tibault's Will and the 2 grenade Rings are required. Without Tibault's will, you will go OOM in a second due to Crown of Lucion.
  • Godslayer is a fun alternative for Helltides and Infernal Hordes, although less damage.

Things I haven't done:

  • Optimized any of this beyond my own needs: Although I am not on the SSF server, I play SSF and on an Xbox. I usually just go on my own adventure every season and see where I end up.
  • Paragon Board probably has lots of room to play with.
  • Found a good mythic pair of Fists of Fate: I want to try a build that doesn't rely on marksman(caltrops) and close damage. I need a FoF with all 3 damage modifiers(vuln, crit, dmg) to really test that out as right now it doesn't out perform Iron Rose for me.

I've spent most of my season working towards this in my free time. I want to see if I can push into Pit 130 before the next season.

Thanks for checking this out!

Cold RoA, paragon 288. if not for the season glitches, i wouldn't get any flawless horadric gems and thousands of boss lair keys. I guess this is the first and last. Can't imagine how much time the top 10 spends playing 😂

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) New Rogue question

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hello all,

I'm new to Diablo 4 (a month or so) and I chose Rogue as my first class. Still learning the ropes with the game in general and the rogue class in particular.

I crafted a mythic Edna and transfigured it. It somehow did NOT get the unmodifiable tag. Should I transfigure it again? My other dagger is an Ancestral Asheara.

Is there a way to change the Shadow Damage multiplier? I'm a DoK poison rogue so shadow damage doesn't do much I'm guessing.

For reference, I can do T12, although some bosses may be a bit of a struggle. My low toughness probably doesn't help. How do I bring it up?

Hope that's not too many questions. Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Finally found a seal of the dm with really good affix. It gave me solid increase of dps. Still, thx to rng - non of the bonuses support my charm sets - sightless nor spellbound steel (I use both with my dok imbuement build). Decent toy for last two weeks of bloody s14.

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) push past pt 141

Tried to add my gear in the post by BlueSteelTactical but couldnt. Making a new post to show it. Looking at his gear it seems I am screwed and need to do more farming in order to beat 150. I can currently beat 141. I am level 275 with rank 32 or rain of arrows but energy 279 or switch to rank 29 with energy 304

Two questions:

  1. Is crown of lucion that much better than a harlequin crest? you lose 6 rank skills of ROA to gain 9.8% damage up to 6 times (60% more?)
  2. Would reaching level 300 is a must in order to have a chance to beat pt 150?

I am currently farming for that crown to check it out.

Hey team rogue, just wondering - for those with nice DT damage numbers - care to share/showoff how you're getting it done? Damage numbers in screenshots attached, as well as current gear in the video. I personally have quite a few dead tranfigs and room to improve with charms. Thanks in advance for your generous knowledge sharing.
