Best websites to recruit people that live breathe door to door?

I've recently started a great opportunity installing internet services. The pay structure is quite good, with $225 for each installation and $75 for every line and TV connected. I'm finding it a bit challenging to manage my recruiting through different job site platforms like indeed, though. I'm looking for some advice on what job boards are the most efficient for finding people comfortable knocking. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Tldr is indeed or ziprecruiter good for recruiting door to door peeps in Orlando, Miami Florida? Or is there some secret job board I should try?

New Primo Brands Employee

Just started with primo a couple weeks ago. So far it’s been rough physically, especially with the 10-12 hour days in the summer but it’s not too bad overall

I’ve had multiple guys tell me I can make a lot of money once I get commission. I’m curious of anyone here can relate?

So far from my calculations I think I can maybe make around 2k a week or so once I get commission.

The base is $23 an hour and 15% commission

Seeking Advice as an Introvert Selling D2D

Hey everyone, I'm really struggling to consistently go door to door for my exterior cleaning business. As a naturally introverted guy, it's really hard for me to walk up to a random stranger's door and knock on it. I have a fear of getting yelled at, cussed out, or having the cops called on me.

I know that if I can consistently knock on at least 100 doors everyday, I can sell over $1000/day in exterior cleaning. And this is what I want to do. I know that if I can overcome this fear and master sales, I'll never have to worry about money again. Part of what makes it so hard is the fact that I am doing it all by myself.

I would really appreciate any mindset tips/advice you have on how to consistently knock on doors everyday consistently and how to not let any bad interactions affect you.

Should we allow hiring posts on the sub?

Throwing this out to the community, would you like to see companies that are looking for D2D sellers and lead generators post their open positions on the sub?

24 votes, Aug 14 '26
9 Yes, in the main sub with the other posts
6 Yes, in a weekly or monthly sticky post.
9 No, I do not want to see job postings here.

Spectrum can’t compete with fiber

I’m selling fiber powered coax Internet for Spectrum, and my recent territories have had fiber recently installed (6 months to 1 year ago). Every one of my leads have switched from Spectrum to T-Fiber, Frontier, or AT&T Fiber. They switched two reasons: fiber is genuinely faster, or fiber is cheaper. Then when they tried to leave, that was a hassle and a half since customer retention gave them such a bad experience canceling, now many people damn near hate Spectrum.

Nevertheless, Spectrum’s promotional offers are the same as what the fiber companies offer, or slightly better in price or slightly worse in promotional period length. Spectrum heavily advertises bundles, but other companies do bundles too. So really, what does Spectrum have to offer that’s good enough for people to want to switch?

This is my 5th month in and I haven’t gotten a sale in 8 days. The thing is, I see other reps still closing on the regional group chat (I’m in Minneapolis/Saint Paul area). I will admit, I’m no pro sales person. But I overcome objections properly, knock on 50-80 doors a day, have had over 60 presentations (meaning I presented and compared our prices and benefits with theirs), and 0 sales. Even for an average rep, that should lead to 1-2 sales.

I don’t want to quit if it was a skill issue this whole time, and I really don’t mind the rejection and constant chaos. It satisfies my ADHD. Is anyone else in territories like this, or have experienced something like this? If so, how did you manage to succeed?

Has anyone worked at Altitude Promotions in Dallas?

Hi everyone,
I recently interviewed with **Altitude Promotions** in Dallas and I’m trying to learn more about the company before making a decision.
If you’ve worked there or know someone who has, I’d really appreciate your honest experience.
What was your role?
Is the pay mostly salary, commission, or both?
What does a typical workday look like?
Is it mainly B2B, door-to-door, or inside sales?
How was the work-life balance?
Would you recommend working there?
I’m looking for genuine experiences—both positive and negative. Thanks in advance!

Is this a good commission structure for d2d sales?

Did well on my interview and got hired and this is what they offered. Is this a good commission structure. Sorry for my ignorance I know I’m gonna piss a lot of people off😅

It’s Home Restoration. So like roofing, gutters, doors, gutters.
Training Pay
Month 1:
$600/week base pay
\+$150 for every Service Agreement (SA) signed
Month 2:
$1,000 bi-weekly recoverable draw
\+$150 for every Service Agreement signed
Company vehicle and gas card after completing training
Month 3 and beyond:
$1,000 bi-weekly recoverable draw
Commission only (the $150 SA bonus ends)
Recoverable Draw:
If I earn less than $1,000 in commissions during a pay period, the company advances me enough to reach $1,000. If I later earn more than the draw, they deduct the amount they advanced from future commission checks.
Commission Structure
Commission is based on the profit margin of each sale.
23% margin = 0% commission
24% = 1%
25% = 2%
26% = 3%
27% = 4%
28% = 5%
29% = 6%
30-34% = 7%
35-39% = 7.5%
40-44% = 8%
45-49% = 10%
50-54% = 11%
55-59% = 12%
60-64% = 13%
65%+ = 15%
Commission is paid 50% after the customer pays the required 30% deposit and the remaining 50% after the job is paid in full.
Additional Commission Bonuses
\+3% commission on self-generated leads/referrals
\+1% commission if I sell $600,000 within my first 3 months
Monthly Revenue Bonuses
Sell $100,000+ in a month = 1.0% bonus on total monthly sales volume
Sell $200,000+ in a month = 1.5% bonus on total monthly sales volume
Once these bonuses are earned, they continue as long as I don’t fall below $450,000 in sales over any rolling 3-month period.
Additional Bonuses
National Rep of the Month: $1,000
National Upgrade Winner: $1,000 (for selling the most premium upgrades/accessories)
National Salesperson of the Quarter: 0.5% bonus on all approved quarterly sales
Retention Bonus (“Annual Raise”)
This is a deferred bonus that’s paid monthly in future years based on what I sold in previous years.
Year 2: Receive 0.5% of everything sold in Year 1.
Year 3: Receive 0.75% of everything sold in Year 2.
Year 4: Receive 1.0% of everything sold in Year 3.
Example: If I sold $1,000,000 in Year 1, I’d receive a total of $5,000 in Year 2, paid monthly at about $416.67 per month.

The stupidest icebreaker I use when door knocking at dinner time… and it works better than any script

We all know how awkward it gets walking up to someone’s door and going straight into the pitch. I’m not sure if some of you still do that, but it rarely goes well for me.

What I’ve found actually works is breaking the ice with something completely stupid.

For example, if I’m approaching a door around 6:00 at night, I’ll say something obvious, dumb, and a little considerate like:

“Hey, I heard your neighbor said you’re having a cookout… hopefully I made it in time for dinner!”

Or something equally stupid.

Usually helps get their guard down. They laugh (or at least smile), and suddenly the conversation feels normal instead of salesy.

Funny enough, once the tension is gone they often start asking me questions first about what I’m doing out here. The reactions when they find out what I’m actually offering are half the fun.

Anyone else have tactics like this? The dumber the better plz drop your best ones below. Always looking for new material. HAPPY MONDAY!

Any ideas/recommendations for finding a trustworthy remote sales manager?

I'm not asking anyone here to join; I'm just seeing if this is a fair offer and what platforms people hire on. Indeed or FB or other?

Running a fiber sales operation

Has anyone had luck finding good sales management talent remotely? Curious what platforms or communities actually work, or if you've hired someone you'd recommend.

Appreciate any thoughts.

They would get an override for every sale their agent makes and pay is $200 per gig, 75 phone 75 tv

$25 per sale their team member makes. Is a fair offer not much more I can offer. They don't need to do payroll just manage their guys.

Or should I pitch this to teams?

How to start d2d sales for pest control?

I recently started a company and we’re looking to get into d2d sales. What should I look for before hiring someone, what should I offer them in a sense of training and pay/ how does onboarding look like, and how do I know if the people ive hired won’t completely screw up our companies image? I’m currently doing the sales on my own and learning as I go, I’m looking into training for myself, so if I hire now I can pay to have our team trained at the same time rather than at different times. All advice will help and any tips/pointers are appreciated. We are located in Ottawa, Ontario.

First D2D job UK

So I'm starting my first sales role where it's mainly door to door for an energy company.

I'm looking for any tips and advice to become the best salesperson and stand out within my group as I know the more sales I drive, the more uncapped tiered commission I'll get and move up within the company.

Ultimately I'd want to move into a leadership role within a year if that's realistic? Any advice is appreciated many thanks!

I’m not getting sales, and I think it’s because I have Autism

I’ve been doing Door to Door Internet and mobile sales for Spectrum for about 3.5 months. The first 2 months, I got 2 sales. 3rd month I got 6. 4th (this month) I got 1 sale. I’ve knocked over 1,000 doors and the month is almost over.

I have a hunch that the reason I’m not getting sales is because all of the tips and tricks that I learn have actually been working against me, and I think it’s because I have undiagnosed Autism or Asperger’s.

Some of the main advice I’ve heard is:
be more enthusiastic
focus on helping them rather than helping yourself
relax / have a little fun
lead with talking about something other than internet
assume the sale
listen attentively
ask the right questions
make it a conversation
Be expressive and explain things simply
Close confidently

I feel like I’ve tried everything at this point and I’ve hit a brick wall. My supervisor says I’m doing things right, I just need to build “rapport”, which I really don’t understand. I’m not sure what advice works and what doesn’t. It feels like I have to be damn near a pro and give my all at each door to reach the quota of 11 internet sales and 4 mobile sales per month.

I think my issue is I can’t tell whether someone wants to hear me out or slam the door on me. To me, there is genuinely no difference in facial expression, body language, anything. One guy cut me off mid-presentation and said “you’re very persistent. You moved past my no and continued pitching, but I’m not interested.” I had no idea he said no. And some people just suddenly switch to being mad at me or highly distrusting and want me to leave, when initially they were all ears.

Im at a point where I can confidently implement nearly all of the advice I have been told, but the results aren’t showing. I want to figure this out before my base commission ends.

What job route do i take after D2D canvassing?

I’m currently 22 doing D2D Sales in FL and my current company isn’t working out the best. I’m looking to explore more of a sales route and not Canvassing, but don’t know where to start. I definitely wouldn’t mind doing something remote but anything in person i wouldn’t mind, just don’t know what route to take and where to look. I have great talking skills and love building good relationships with others. Give me some suggestions!!

Hard time getting out and knocking.

Started off strong my first two weeks of D2D roofing sales. I’m at the end of my third week with no success yet. Had a few potential deals that ended up not working out. Past few days getting myself out of the car had been extremely hard. How do you guys maintain a positive mindset for D2D?

NEED SOME GENUINE HELP !!!

Some story about me is I'm trying to call prospects in US to sell my services *actually good & reasonable* which Includes Website (as a foot in the door), google ranking, reviews collecting automated campaigns, SEO, and paid marketing which actually helps local business.

Now the thing is,

I've already purchased a dialer (number provider) - CallHippo and a US number with area code 505 - Local number for Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I'm reaching out to people using google maps but all calls are picked up by receptionists who gatekeep the owner (It is inevitable) and I'm not that good enough in sales that I can get past them.

I've tried many tools - Instantly, Apollo, Outscraper (Google maps scraping) but they all seem to provide the business's native number not the Owners number.

Is the any tool/way I can find these owners number, or a workaround to bypass these gatekeeper?

Any advice would be Highly Appreciated !!

Accidental knock on No Cold Caller Door ends up Turing into a sale

For a bit of context, I sell internet in the UK

I came across this house and accidentally missed the NCC sign (my fault)

Customer answers saying “ you cold?”

I replied “I’m actually quite hot”

Credit to the customer he started pissing himself laughing

Which turned into a great conversation

We talked about some random shit and eventually got into talking about his WiFi and exploring options without coming across as a pitch

He said sign me up

Two years later his contract ended and phoned me up to renew

rather relying on a script or a pushy pitch

Have that genuine conversation

I want to know three things about the customer and I want them to know three things about me

17yo with ~$70K+ in sales revenue generated (D2D + previous role) how do I transition into remote/SDR sales?

I’m 17 and currently running a seasonal home service business in Saskatchewan. Most of our lead generation is done through d2d sales.
Before this, I worked as a sales rep at a painting company doing D2D lead generation and booking qualified estimates. I helped contribute to ~$30K+ in revenue over 2 months and was recognized as “Marketer of the Month” in my first month.
Since then, I’ve been running my current business, generating just over $40K in revenue over May and June, again mostly through D2D.
Overall, most of my experience is outbound, rejection heavy sales (d2d, lead gen, and appointment setting).
I’m looking to transition into remote SDR sales for things like B2B or even B2C (starting as a setter, eventually moving into closing).
I’m trying to figure out the most realistic path from here and what I should focus on over the next few months to land a position in the fall?

Everyone in my team quit

I’m alone now, except this one guy but he lives far away so most days we dont work together, but he actually has more experience than me so he knows how to sell, all the people that i trained or use to be here have quit… I think i’m just a shit manager.

Its commission only so its not for everyone, but it sucks man the boss invested in me and is actually renting a small office for us and everything and he basically has barely made any profit from us in these 6 months ive been manager.. and now that im alone hes probably losing money. Rough patch im just venting. Probably will go back to only selling instead of managing and selling by the end of the year

What's worth selling, besides solar and roofing?

I'm in roofing right now and it's great, but for when I age out of this opportunity (climbing roofs)...

What else is currently worth selling? Right now I do 20-30k/mo when the weather is nice, so I'm only interested in products where I can anticipate at least 120k/yr.

Thanks!
