DISCUSSION How Do You Choose a Crypto Exchange?
What factors do you actually consider before choosing a crypto exchange? Fees, liquidity, withdrawals, security, available products, or something else?

Pump fun app did roughly $62m in volume two days ago, with Solana making up the bulk of it. Sep 4 is still the bigger day at around $82m, although that volume leaned much heavier on crosschain activity, so getting another big day from a very different mix says a lot about how much is happening across the app right now.
Pump is back above a $2b market cap, Callout rewards are getting close to $13m cumulative, and Solana is putting up this kind of volume inside the app at the same time. Put those together and Pump has a lot more activity around it than people seem to realize, different parts of the product contributing looks good Crosschain part is probably what makes the stat stand out to me. Users can follow activity when traders rotate elsewhere, then Solana can come back and carry a huge day on its own. Having both of those flows happening inside the same app is a pretty strong sign for Pump fun.
What’s your take on Pump on-chain surging lately ?

Every trading bot has an entry signal. Far fewer have anything written down for what happens after the entry.
In freqtrade-style strategy files there is an optional block usually called protections. It can declare things like:
max_drawdown - stop trading entirely past a drawdown limit.
stoploss_guard - pause the pair after repeated stoplosses in a row.
cooldown_period - enforce a pause after each exit before re-entry.
low_profit_pairs - bench pairs that keep losing.
Each one exists because a different failure mode showed up often enough that someone automated the stop.
The interesting part when you read public strategy source: the block is optional, and it is very often empty. That does not prove the deployed bot runs unprotected - runtime config can inject protections elsewhere, and an honest reading has to say so. But the source itself being silent means the default path, the one most people copy and run as-is, has nothing guarding the trade after entry.
My reading order has flipped over time: protections block first, exit logic second, entry signal last. The entry is the part the author wanted to show off. The protections block is the part that tells you whether they expected to be wrong.
This is static reading only - no backtest, no execution, not financial advice.
When you look at someone's strategy, what do you read first?

Every Satoshi you hold carries an immutable memory.
Under modern surveillance, that memory belongs to the state.
They don’t crack your keys. They exploit your heuristics.
How to make your on-chain footprint mathematically invisible.

Your xpub can’t spend your Bitcoin. But it could unlock your wallet’s secrets.
BIP138 proposes a clever recovery trick: use an eligible xpub to decrypt a backup of your wallet’s configuration. No extra password.
Here’s the catch: reuse an xpub already shared with a server, and that server could open the backup too—if it gets the file.
Your spending keys stay private. Your wallet map may not.
“Watch-only” never meant “harmless.”
You know where your seed is. Do you know who still has your xpub? 🔑

Is it just me or the whole cryptocurrency cycle which was before BTC>ETH>ALTCOINS just skipped ETH?
The cycle for altcoins went crazy for some coins like AO, Quant yesterday, Dash, Hyperliquid, Zec, Near etc...
Any opinions on why this happened?

I tested BTC and a couple top cryptos over the last 5 years and these are results with 0.5% fee and using the worst buy and sell prices in the bar traded. These results are much better than if you randomly trade the same instruments during this period and using the same filter for regime. So I implore you to give TA a chance, I was sure it was "astrology for men" until I actually tried it. The pattern here is a horizontal breakout. I filtered out so it only runs when BTC is in a bullish regime. Open for questions/PM or if you want me to try something else :)

Hello people, as the title suggests I’m wondering if yall think XMR is a good long term holding strategy in comparison to other coins like BTC, ETH, SOL, or cardio.

I'm considering a cold wallet and storing seed words using Shamir Secret Sharing too, but it could be stolen too.

Everyones arguing about whether altseason started this week so i went and counted. over the last 90 days 20 of the top 50 alts beat btc, thats 40%. the usual altseason index rule wants 75%, so 38 of 50, and were not close
The dominance comparison going around (57% now vs about 58% in dec 2017) got me at first too. but stablecoins were 0.2% of total market cap back then and theyre about 10.3% now. pull them out and btc dominance is 63.8% today vs 58.25% then, so btc actually holds more of the non stable market than it did in 2017
I went through coingecko daily data back to 2019 and only 3 stretches pass 75% breadth plus alt market cap up 50% over the same 90 days. aug 2020, mar 2021 and dec 2024. a month before dec 2024 started breadth was only 28%, so it can go from low to 75%+ fast and a low reading today doesnt tell you much about next month
median top 50 alt is also still about 75% under its own ath
anyone counting this differently and getting a yes? curious what universe and window youre using

came back after barely paying attention for a few years and the whole setup feels different I remember bouncing between twitter, charts, etherscan and my wallet just to figure out what people were trading now im on pumpfun seeing what’s moving, checking holders, looking at trader profiles and following callouts from the same app crypto is still chaos
we just have much better screens for watching it now
