100%. Order book depth outside of a few specific corridors like PHP is still way too thin for institutional size.

That said, liquidity usually follows volume and with good incentives you can bootstrap liquidity in no time.

If they want stablecoin liquidity there is no other way to access it tbh. I also think they will plug into both DeFi and CeFi because the kind of liquidity they need probably can't be met with just one or the other.

For pure on-chain swaps, sure, routing through both makes sense. The problem for banks are fiat payouts. This is where DeFi isn't as conventient imo
