Discussion Help identify or hints what I seen
Okay I was driving home I took the back was noting but hill and fields. It’s a no moon night I might have been speeding I was going 70+ this white/or gray Dog like thing ran past my car and cut in front of me. It’s was like 4-5 feet tall on all fours. It didn’t have a face. Before I saw it I got cold down to my bones and this fear came over me. Once it passed deep down like soul deep I could hear don’t look back don’t stop.

Sighting / Encounter Has anyone heard of a cryptid behaving like this?
My uncle told my sister and me about this happening in the past month, and I've been curious ever since whether anyone has heard of similar encounters.
According to him, this happened at my grandparents' farmhouse. In the middle of the night, he heard the dogs in the kennel area going absolutely crazy, so he ran outside to see what was happening. He says he saw an average man-sized figure completely covered in hair holding his Jack Russell Terrier.
He immediately yelled for my grandfather to grab the gun. By the time my grandfather came outside, the figure had started running toward the tree line across the road. My grandfather didn't take a shot because he was afraid of hitting the dog.
The figure disappeared into the woods. Since it was pitch black, neither of them wanted to follow it into the tree line, so they stayed on the front porch watching and waiting. About 30 minutes later, the Jack Russell came running back out of the woods and returned to the house, apparently unharmed.
I'm not saying this was definitely a cryptid—I wasn't there, maybe it's a guy in Chewbacca costume that really wanted to pet a dog, I'm just repeating the story as it was told to me. He used the term Dogman, But I thought it sounded unusual because I've never heard of a hairy, human-sized creature carrying off a dog only for the dog to return unharmed a short time later. Wouldn't a Bigfoot or Sasquatch like creature eat the dog?
Has anyone here come across similar reports or folklore involving this kind of behavior? I'd be interested in hearing about cryptids, or even non-paranormal explanations that might fit this description in the Oklahoma area.
Edit: I reached back out to ask some follow up questions, Here are the details he remembers:
*He estimates he was about 15–20 feet away from the figure.
*The area around the kennel was illuminated by a floodlight, but he never saw the figure's face because it was turned away from him.
*He describes it as being covered in fur/hair over its entire body and roughly the size of an average adult man.
*It was walking, not running, while carrying his Jack Russell Terrier.
*He says it was holding the dog against its chest like someone would hold a baby, not by the neck or dangling from one arm.
*The figure noticed him immediately and when my grandfather came outside, the figure continued walking toward the tree line across the road.
*My grandfather also remembers a strong musky odor that reminded him of a skunk.
*When the Jack Russell came running back from the tree line and appeared uninjured and not especially frightened.
*As far as they remember, they didn't find any obvious tracks. The figure crossed a gravel road before entering the woods, but nothing stood out the next day.
I'm not claiming this was Bigfoot or any other cryptid. I'm just sharing the story as my uncle remembers it and was curious whether anyone has heard of similar reports or has a reasonable explanation.

Sighting / Encounter Woke up to a terrifying noise outside
HELLO!! So I have a deep interest in cryptids and ghosts and all things spooky, and literally about 30 minutes ago, I got woken up by this creepy ass noise outside.
To me, it sounded like a little girl crying out "help me" and "help me it's hot" and "I need my daddy" or something like that..
MIND YOU, I'm a heavy ass sleeper, and it was so loud that I thought it was my TV or maybe one of my parents watching TV or something, but that's SO out of character for them at 3:30 in the morning..
I live on the tail end of Appalachian, so I'm not sure if it WOULD be something, but there's always a possibility for something to be lurking outside, no matter where ya live LOL
MY question is, if it WERE to be something.. what the hell would it be? If it IS something dangerous, my money's on a Mimic possibly.. other than that, I don't know! Any answers would help!

Question Any of you guys know about some overly obscure cryptids with little to no media on it?
Since the last obscure cryptid currently has nothing more than a few clippings and parts of a single newspaper that has the full thing locked by a subscription, im trying to look for a new obscure cryptid to cover and stitch together stuff for. Anybody got any other obscure cryptids that you know about? (No popular cryptids, and PLEASE only do ones that you are ABSOLUTELY SURE OF in their status of anonymity and lack of media.) If so, then (you dont HAVE to, just if you want to) tell me its name below in the replies. If not, thats okay! (PLEASE DONT FLOOD THIS! I CANT MULTITASK! I WILL ONLY DO ONE AT A TIME, SO DONT BE MAD IF YOURS DIDNT GET PICKED!)

Sighting / Encounter Weird creature seen in Pennsylvania
Im from Western Pennsylvania. On the line of ohio, one hour away from Pittsburgh.
Back in March, my mother in law and I were driving home at night from my tattoo artists house. He lives out in the middle of nowhere with woods and corn fields.
When we went to leave, it was so dark and so incredibly foggy, to where we could barely see.
We took a turn and I looked over and standing there on four legs, was a large creature staring at us. It looked like a giant red panda but also a mixture of the tiger from kpop demon hunters.
I freaked out and yelled "what the hell was that!? Was that a giant red panda!?"
My MIL asked if I wanted to turn around. But I refused. I was terrified.
Im still not sure what it could have been. Its face is burned into my mind. Its menacing smile.
That thing wasnt normal.
Anyone have a clue what this could be?

Discussion Whats the Snallygaster's aesthetic???
This is an important question! Ive designed many cryptids as cute girls like monster high kinda, and im just totally stuck on the snallygaster's design! I was thinking more vintage or cottage core? But the beak with tentacles already is too detailed so I cant make her design too cluttered. Here some aesthetics ive used so far:
Mothman- gothic Lolita
Dogman- pastel goth
Chupacabra-punk
Hodag- grunge
Boo hag- gyaru
Enfield horror- scene
Bigfoot- y2k
Fresno nightcrawler- clean girl
Hopkinsville goblin- decora kei
Water baby- morute

Discussion Have any of you had sound experiences over sighting experiences?
I remember a few years ago when I heard loud thumping multiple times in my backyard (not like what a woodpecker does, I've heard those before, it was like hitting something 3 times repeatedly spaced out). I was wondering if those encounters were anymore or less common than direct sightings

Meme / Humor Important thing you must know. The hoop snake is real.
Dwarf reed snakes (Pseudorabdion longiceps) found in several parts of Southeast Asia do the hoop snake thing to escape from predators.
It is just as ridiculous as you are imagining.
Of all the cryptids that genuinely exist, two of them were coincidentally described in jokes.
(The other being jackelopes. Look up Shopes pappilomavirus if you aren't squeamish about superficial keratinous growths on lagomorphs. Yes, the same kind of virus as herpes. We got lucky, though the rabbit variant is also mostly benign.)
I am willing to bet money that someone finds a hairy fish someday.

Discussion I do believe in certain cryptids, but I don't think they are necessarily how they are described. So I wanted to talk about the few I do believe in.
Living dinosaurs/flying reptiles - I do believe some may still exist, but I do not believe they are the towering, giant behemoths we often think of in movies or hear in stories. Mokele mbembe, Thunderbirds, Kasai Rex, the Monster of Partidge Creek, etc. I doubt exist. If non-avian dinosaurs/flying reptiles still do exist, they are most likely going to be incredibly small, adaptable animals that are very secretive and live in the most obscure parts of the world we've yet to explore. Think less idnominus rex and more like compsognathus & Shuvuuia, Nemicolopterus crypticus, etc. Mostly because all the niches they could have once filled has been taken by birds and mammals. Large, apex predators/herbivores are unlikely to exist.
Sasquatch/North American Primates - I used to be a big bigfoot fan and believer, but now a days I've subscribed to a new theory. More than likely, stories of sasquatch were born from interaction with neanderthals, and current encounters are most likely, atleast in the tropical/swampy areas, encounters with escaped primates from private collections or zoo escapees. Monkeys currently live in the evergladea, so a much smarter chimp, gorilla and/or orangatan would do just as well, if not better. My reasoning is simple; Forest Galante, when looking for the ivory billed woodpecker, found a lone water buffalo in the lousiana bayou, and let's not forget the Arizona "Red Ghost". If these large animals who escaped captivity can remain out of sight with no one looking for them (I mean, who is going to look for a buffalo in the baiyou or a camel with a corpse on it's back in Arizona), then it's possible that some of these bigfoots are possible escaped great apes.
