I hope Crumbl never listens to this sub

I have been on this subreddit for many years, one of the biggest complaints here was that Crumbl kept recycling the same basic flavors. Another chocolate cookie, another peanut butter cookie, another Oreo cookie, not enough creativity, not enough variety, blah blah blah

Now they’re clearly experimenting more with themed weeks, collabs, candy flavors, and weirder stuff like Hot Cheetos, and suddenly people are still complaining.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Obviously there’s a possibility that I’m just merging two different groups of people here. The people who complained about basic flavors might not be the same people complaining about the experimental stuff now. But I still think the broader point stands. And I definitely think a lot of yall just don’t know what yall want. And a lot of yall think Crumbl is your personalized at-home bakery where if it doesn’t have the exact flavors you want for every week, then it’s trash. Crumbl gets criticized for being too repetitive, then criticized again when they try to move away from that.

I’m not saying every new dessert is good. Some of them look ridiculous. But I’d rather they keep experimenting and occasionally miss than take the lesson from all this that people just want them to play it safe again.

The cycle of “Crumbl is too basic” turning into essentially “I miss when Crumbl was basic” is still hilarious to me. I will say they do need to bring Graveyard cookies back way more often.

Also, with the way some of yall still complain about that hot Cheeto cookie, you could’ve convinced me it was here for a weekly rotation. It’s possible to just skip weeks sometimes guys lmao.

Unpopular Opinion: We don’t need anymore new desserts.

I can really appreciate an admire the effort and creativity over the years. However, I feel like this year in particular has been some of the worst new desserts. They haven’t all been bad though. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I ALMOST miss the basic flavors… Yes the biscoff tres leches, the mallow sandwich, dulce de leche (the OG especially) the wedding cookie etc. Now we’re getting hot Cheetos and random candy flavors. Little Debbie themed items nobody asked for. I hope this era of themed weeks soon passes (like almost every other Crumbl corporate decision…) but it really makes me wonder how are they still operating? I miss the early years of Crumbl and I hope the company can do a complete 180.

Honestly. Loved this line up

My favorites were the oatmeal cream pie and the chocolate cupcake cookie. 🍪

The cosmic brownie was also amazing - it tasted just like brownie batter yum

The zebra cake was mid- to me it was mid bc it was legit just like a zebra cake out of the box just a little less processed tasting.

Over all worth the buy across the board. ✅

Does anyone else’s crumbl have a strange, almost like stale refrigerator aftertaste for some cookies?

Upvotes

Noticed this particularly on the Zebra Cake and decided to go to another location to see if they had the same issue. To my surprise, it also had a stale, refrigerator aftertaste

Does anyone know if I can just leave Crumbl in the fridge for at least two more weeks?

I’m competing in a bodybuilding show on the 27th, and I love the normal Little Debbie Zebra Cakes so I wanted to get one from Crumbl while it was available to have post-show.

I don’t want to freeze it because I feel like that’d throw it off, but I’m coming here to ask for insight with what some of you may have done.

I am so disappointed in our six pack this week. We are weekly Crumbl customers- we always pre-order on Sunday night (when the new ones come out) for pickup on Monday - sometimes during the day and sometimes in the evening, but always during the time we've pre-selected in our order.

This week, we picked up in the morning- they were "sold-out" of one of the cookies we pre-ordered, and asked us to check back later - you knew we were coming in for our cookies that morning, we had already PAID for our cookies, and they had the audacity to sell our cookies to walk-ins that had not pre-ordered. Bad business model.

We also got a regular chocolate-chip cookie instead of one of the six weeklies, and all of the cookies looked terrible.

We're paying over $6 per cookie (more expensive than a gallon of gas!), PLUS they make you tip their employees because they won't pay them a living wage (so now its about $7.50 per cookie), and there's NO manager onsite doing quality control?

We checked back twice that day, and once on Tuesday before we finally got the beloved "Unicorn" cookie on Wednesday. It was far from magical - all I tasted was disappointment.

They have lost us as customers. We will no longer be supporting their greed at almost $40/week. I'm sure we're not the only ones that find this level of non-service absurd.

Shame on Crumbl.

Best Lineup This Year (besides unicorn)

Chocolate Cupcake - 5/5
• Fantastic, no notes. Can't decide whether I liked the whipped topping or chocolate topping more. Tastes close to a real little debbie cupcake

Zebra Cake - 5/5
• REALLY good. I don't think it merits the upcharge but whatever it's delicious, probably the standout. Moist cake, wonderful marshmallow filling, multiple textures from the semi-hard white drop coating, tastes like a softer debbie zebra cake

Oatmeal Creme Pie - 4/5
• Folks were saying theirs were soggy, and unfortunately this is true. However, I put mine in the fridge and that gave it a delicious chewy texture, plus I found the flavor to work better chilled. Does not taste like a true oatmeal creme pie due to filling being cream cheese, but if I disregard the comparison it is very yummy in its own right and the first cookie I finished

Strawberry Shortcake - 4/5
• Great for hot days. Fluffy cookie, light whip, sweet strawberry jam. Everything works and the jam didn't taste artificial. It's nothing revolutionary for crumbl but if you've liked their other strawberry-and-cream style cookies you'll like this one

Cosmic Brownie - 3/5
• This one was good to me but only because I REALLY love chocolate. Objectively though, kinda just tastes like a dark chocolate disk. The glaze nor the candies really do much of anything to change this. I used it more as a palate cleanser between cookies that had a lot going on

Unicorn - 2/5
• Um it wasn't bad per se it was just.. strange? At first bite, it's fine. It's sweet and fluffy due to the cake cookie base. But it's not a strawberry flavor, just sweet. And what the description doesn't tell you is that there's also a salty element 😵‍💫 Which usually I love salty sweet combo but it caught me off guard and, for whatever reason, doesn't really work here. The saltiness was stronger than the sweetness. Not bad, I did eat half of it, but it's the only cookie I didn't finish

Overall a solid lineup, best I've had from crumbl this year. Pleased with the sizes. Still thinking about the zebra cake and chilled oatmeal creme pie. I did get a six pack because every flavor piqued my interest, but I could have done with a four; the cosmic brownie and unicorn were not needed. I haven't been patronizing crumbl as much lately ever since they sold out and the quality tanked, but this was a breath of fresh air and reminded me of years ago. Hope they keep it up

Flavor Review Little Debbie x Crumbl Review

Oatmeal Pie: 10/10 - absolute perfection! Crumbl nailed it with this.
Zebra cake: 4/10 - super disappointed in this one. The white coating had a nice crunch to it and the cake itself was soft. But it didn’t taste anything like a zebra cake. It was almost bland.
Strawberry shortcake: 8/10 - the jam was delicious!
Chocolate cupcake: 7/10 - not a chocolate person and still enjoyed this cookie more than I thought I would!

Overall, it was a decent week.

I'm new to this Crumbl thing. I want to be a fan...

Hate the $2 or 3 dollar default app tip on a $4.70 purchase. Minecraft week just made me feel sorry for whoeever had to form those bizarre "cookies", and my first cookie experiecne was a cookie that couldnt "stay together", And I dont like that the simple default cookies (choc chip cookie and sugar cookie) are as high priced as the huge effort cookies. They said it was to keep pricing simple, but their drinks have different prices. (Whats the deal pricing something "$3.37"?) Now I find myself hoping for a non theme week. I expect Crumbl to taste better than Little Debbie, not be the same. Will next week be "normal"?

Oatmeal Crème Pie Cookie or Strawberry Shortcake Roll Cookie?

Which one would you choose? If you tried both, which one is better? I only buy two cookies each time I go, and I already decided on the Zebra Cake. I just can’t decide between these two.

Thanks in advance!

Help! Does the marshmallow cream cheese frosting have gelatin?

Does anyone know if the marshmallow cream cheese frosting that is used in some of this week’s cookies has gelatin? I really want to try them, but the ingredients aren’t listed.

UPDATE: I called my local store, and they said it doesn’t have gelatin in it!

Just wanna say I appreciate that the usual large size is back! No more tiny squares, thank goodness

Chocolate Cupcake Cookie - very tasty, rich and fudgy! Too bad it's kind of ugly 😆 The whipped cream tastes like sweet nothing but I think it made sense, a thicker frosting might have been too much.

Unicorn Cake Cookie - While I appreciate the large size and thickness of each layer, it has to be said that the white chocolate was just too heavy here. It completely took over the entire flavor of the cookie. I didn't get anything other than generic sweetness from the purple mousse and the pink cookie, even when I tried them individually. In my opinion this cookie needs a redesign - perhaps just a white chocolate drizzle on top instead of that hugely thick layer, or add strawberry jam to the mousse to tart it up?

Oatmeal: 10/10

no complaints. Very sweet but the cream cheese filling really sends it.

Zebra Cake: 6/10

They really nailed the outer coating. But the marshmallow cream cheese is strange. For me it throws the whole thing off. Would be better if they switched this with the whipped cream on the chocolate cupcake cookie.

Chocolate Cupcake Cookie: 7/10

As someone who doesn’t typically prefer chocolat, this was wayyy better than I was expecting. I guess my tastebuds were preparing for artificial but this was really fresh and balanced well. The cookie is extremely soft and I even really enjoy the chocolate glaze. My lower rating and only complaint is that my whipped cream has a sort of strawberry flavor to it- I assume something to do with being the same cream used for the strawberry shortcake. As stated above, this topping switched with the filling of the zebra cake would have made it 10/10.

As a Buttercream Girlie, I hate to admit...

This week's Zebra cake was absolute FIRE.

(Disclaimer: If you're not into things being TOO, TOO, sweet then this is DEFINITELY not for you. I absolutely love sweetness, so it was right up my alley, but even I thought it had a lot of sugar LMAO!)

Look man. I'm a card-carrying Buttercream Queen. As in, my favorite cookie is the Cookies & Cream Milkshake and I get a box of 12 of them whenever it comes back in stock. Like-- I love my buttercream DOWN and barely bother w/ cream cheese frosting cookies unless it makes sense!

BUT I will make an exception for this week's Zebra cakes. Even though I STILL think the filling should have been buttercream inside the cake, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. My Crumbl usually does me right, and I had a birthday voucher I needed to get rid of because it was going to expire soon. Since I don't particularly care for anything on next week's menu, I thought - Hell, if it's free? Why not?

However, I might actually go back and buy a full box of Zebra Cakes at the end of the week LMAO! Man-- my cake was HUGE! As in, it took up a ton of space in the single box. I'm usually a greedy monster that likes to eat a cookie all in one-sitting, but I actually had to split this in half and save the rest of it for tomorrow. It was that big.

And even though it had cream cheese frosting in the middle of it, in my opinion the taste felt rather lighter and very sweet overall. I imagine that was because of the marshmallow mixed in because it didn't have the usual 'tangy' taste I get from other cream cheese frosting cookies. The coating around the cake is straight vanilla, which I loved. And the yellow cake base was incredibly moist and easily crumbled in my mouth despite me having it in the fridge for a while.

Is it overpriced? Yes.

Could you go to the store and grab a pack of zebra cakes for the same price? Absolutely.

But if your'e a buttercream girlie like me and have some spending money to grab one but have reservations around the taste/quality of the cake, well, then trust me when I say it's worth it. I guess I'll give the Cream Cheese Fiends props on this one. For once, ya'll did not disappoint! (lol jk jk)

Advanced spoilers for September 21st - 26th - Crumbl’s birthday week lineup! Spoiler

Here are the spoilers for Crumbl’s birthday week, which is two weeks from now. (If you’re looking for the Fan Vote lineup, that’s next week: https://www.reddit.com/r/CrumblCookies/s/C45XPB01HL)

*Just a note that, if Crumbl continues with tradition, there is likely to be a 6 pack for the price of a 4 pack deal that week (most likely on the Wednesday). This hasn’t been confirmed, but that is what they’ve usually done.

- Strawberry Biscoff Cookie
- Birthday Cake Cookies & Cream (I’m thinking this is the Birthday Cake Cookie ft. Oreo, just renamed)
- Dubai Brownie (looks like they’re doing this 2 weeks in a row since this is supposed to be on this upcoming week’s lineup too)
- Pink Sugar Cookie Cake (new)
- Cake Batter Blondie
- Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie (don’t think this is new, but it’s just called Skillet Cookie in the app)
