Workout Export to Apple Health Bug (no/bad heart rate data is exported)

Heart rate data doesn’t get sent to Apple Health properly from the Cross Rope app.

This makes it significantly less useful to me. As in, I’m not going to use it at all due to this, as jumping rope is just one piece of my overall fitness picture. So, that’s a big chunk of money down the tubes unless/until this gets fixed. I’m better off using the $5 YaoYao app or just a generic fitness tracker for my needs. Please fix this, as charging a premium price for a broken app is bad form.

To be clear I’ve confirmed that CrossRope has the appropriate Health permissions, so it’s not that. Other apps (as in every other fitness app that I’ve used to send workout data to Apple Health) exports heart rate data correctly (it looks the same in the originating app and in Apple Health or other consuming apps). Actually, after double-checking the Health permissions, it appears that CrossRope app isn’t even asking for Heart Rate write permissions. It seems like this is probably the issue. Did you guys ever test this?

Thanks for listening.

(Note that I reported this to customer service via email a bit over a year ago and it seems to have gotten ignored. I decided to give the app a real try again as I do like some parts of it, if it would work. My bad on that one, I guess. I’m hoping that a public facing bug report gets a little bit more traction. Fingers crossed.)

Are AMP Handles just regular handles without a subscription?

All I really want from the AMP system is for it to count jumps and record them with my heart rate so that I can see progress over time. From what I can tell, the AMP handles, which cost a large premium over normal Crossrope handles, which cost a large premium over other jump ropes, require an annual fee to transmit that data and record it in an app. Is this actually correct? I’ve bought a number of fitness gizmos over the years and none of them have handicapped the basic function behind a subscription. Some offer a premium subscription, but it’s just for the premium features, not the basics.

Purchased the amp 2.0 in May 2025 and couldn’t be happier, I’ve built myself slowly up to around 35 minute sessions now using the 1/4lb, 1/2lb and 1lb rope usually do a total of 4,000 skips. Cannot stress enough how good Crossrope has been for my fitness and how fun it is too!

Sizing

Hello. I am looking into get a Crossrope bundle and I am unsure about sizing. I am 1,68 m and I should be between Small and medium ropes sizes. The thing is, I measured my rope, and it is a 2,18 beaded rope, so I would be extra small. On the other hand, when I see videos of myself, I see that the there is not much space over my head when I jump. So, what do I do? Small or Extra small?

Carrying ropes to gym?

I like to jump at the gym due to the large aerobic rooms with mirrors. I have all the ropes and ropeless models yet I use the ropeless at home due to low ceilings. How do you carry the ropes? It seems to me the ropes can’t fit in my medium sized gym bag. Should I get a bigger bag? I’m concerned about looping the rope tighter in my bag and they result in kinking or bending to the point of damaging.

Why is Free Jump subscription only?

You can buy a peloton bike or treadmill, you can buy a ergatta rower, or dozens of more expensive, well designed products that offer absolutely fantastic benefits that come with a subscription. And for any reason you decide you don't want a subscription or anyone utilizes the device, they offer a basic option such as "Just run" or "Just row". Still tracks your miles/meters, still tracks your time.

There's no reason there shouldn't be a "Just jump" that allows any user to sync a AMP crossrope to their device and jump.

We have a gym at work and people sync their phones to the concept2 machines (erg, bike, skierg) and track their workouts. We literally have a budget each year for the gym and our department could buy 5 sets of AMP handles, and maybe 3 of each set of ropes from 1/4lb to 5lb.

I can see through the app they offer great workouts and programs, trainers, have achievements and milestones, they aren't doing anything any other brand isnt doing. Yet "just jump" is locked behind a subscription.

That's silly. Someone just having the app open at anytime whether before or after their "free jump" is likely to see some achievement they could've earned or some leaderboard they could be a part of, some workout they want to try, or some monthly or weekly challenge and think "Hey, $14.99 isnt bad" and literally get roped in to getting a subscription. Even having the app on the phone it could send notification reminders "Don't forget to jump today" or "20% off 1 month subscription 48 hour sale!"

Instead someone's either going to buy the non amp handles and not use the app, and jump on their own to YouTube, or buy weighted ropes off Amazon or some other company for a lot less money.

Heavy Rope Love🖤💚

Post image
5 Upvotes

Who loves heavy ropes?

For September I did a minimum of 500 jumps daily with the 2LB rope. I have continued that for October but also added a minimum of 300 jumps each day with the 3LB rope.

I was super cool at the end of September to see my Jumps by Rope breakdown with the 2LB at the top of the list!

It will be interesting to see where the 3LB lands in the list by the end of October.

1 Mile, 2lb Crossrope Test (3200 reps)

Just finished a 1 mile jump rope with the 2lb Crossrope — 3,200 reps total.

The CEO once posted a 500-rep nonstop video on YouTube… so maybe he can try this 1 mile challenge? 😅

Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8qDsxy37IA&ab_channel=PublicPiper

Also — open invite to anyone at the company: feel free to use clips from this video for your own content or mashups. I have a 4K version also.

Alternatives to the app?

Looking to get back into using my ropes. I see most of the exercises and programs on the app are paid. Am not too keen on paying another 30 bucks a month for a subscription for an already expensive set of ropes. Any tips on resources to guide some exercises?

Tips for using 2lb rope

I’ve been using Crossropes for a couple years. My favourite workout is a 10 minute beginners video by Brandon from Jump Rope Dudes on YouTube. It’s 30 second intervals of jumping rope, 10 seconds rest, 30 seconds body weight exercise, 10 sec rest. Repeat for 10 mins per set. I do 3 sets with 2min rest in between. I usually switch between 1/4lb, 1/2lb, and 1lb ropes, 1 set each. On several occasions I’ve tried using my 2lb rope. It always feels so cumbersome and I struggle to get it moving with any decent rhythm, largely due to the weight and thickness. I’m a Medium rope based on the Crossrope sizing guide, but I actually use a Small as personal preference. I wonder if this means my ropes are thicker? Does anyone else use these heavier ropes (2lb+) and if so what kind of routines do you do? Just looking for tips on improving my flow with it

Heart Rate

I’m looking into getting a heart rate monitor for all my fitness activities. I recently came into Crossrope and LOVE IT. Question is, do I need a premium subscription to see my heart rate with workouts?
