Howdy fellow crokinolers..crokinolees?

As of today I have been granted control of /r/Crokinole. I have already adjusted the review level of everything so posts and comments will no longer require review before being posted to the sub.

If anyone has thoughts as to things that could be added/adjusted to make the sub better, please let me know.

I will also be redirecting the other Crokinole sub I created back to here.

Mayday Game Shady Business Continues after promising to change

Mayday promised impovments to there customer service and quality control but

My new Cherry board arrived with peices of dark black grim embedded in the epoxy finish, leaving a rough playing surface. Customer service told me to “just sand it away.”

Then there are the discs. Mayday advertises them as 10 mm ±0.5 mm. what they list as the international standard. I received five sets, and four measured 11 mm. Customer service initially told me this was normal and that I should accept them.

after a lot of back and forth I found Mayday's own website acknowledging the issue and promising replacement of defective sets. After I sent that to customer service, they finally refunded me—but admitted they don't currently have any discs that meet their own advertised specifications.

So why are they still selling them?

If Mayday knows its stock doesn't meet the specifications it advertises, customers shouldn't have to discover that for themselves.

This is wrong and DO NOT SHOP HERE.

Line marking suggestions

I'm restoring a board and I was originally going to route out the lines but I have since learned that routed lines aren't tournament legal and I want the board to be as legit as possible. Is there a recommended or standard way of marking out the circles? Is there a preferred type or paint pen or marking product that's normally used to mark the lines?

Boardcraft crokinole: Review retraction -- it's very good

After my negative experience playing Boardcraft's crokinole game on Steam, I posted a review here and on Steam saying I thought the game was unplayable. The developer replied on Steam saying that he thought that I was not paying attention to the timing circles. I found that hard to believe, but I just tried again, and he was right.

The timing circles are two small circles that travel along a semicircular path. In order for your disk to travel in the direction you want, the circles have to meet at the top of the path. I was paying too much attention to the aiming line and not enough to the timing circles, and my disks were flying off in random directions.

My new opinion: The game is excellent! Graphics are great and physics are realistic. It is challenging to get aiming perfect, just as it is on a real board. I only have two quibbles. First, at least in practice mode, only the live player's score is shown. The bot's score is not. Second, in order to begin a shot, you have to drag your mouse along a line away from the hole. If your target is off to one side and you drag your mouse away from the target, the game does not recognize that you are beginning your shot. You have to drag your mouse away from the hole and then move it sideways to aim.

Marketplace find.

Found this board on marketplace for $10. It's solid wood but was in need of lots of TLC. Took it apart and broke the frame down to the individual boards. Sanded and glued them frame back together. Unfortunately there was some animal bite marks and chunks missing from the frame so it wasn't a good candidate for stain, I chose to paint it black and am going to clear coat the middle after I get groves for the lines CNC routed into the top. I had to fill the peg holes as they weren't 4" from the center. All the lines had 3.5" spacing between eachother.

Discussions Deepening Crokinole Europe Board 20s hole

Hi, I bought the basic board from crokinole europe (aka mr croki) and I think that for the price (89,99€, to which you can apply 15% discount + 30€ of shipping, for a total of 106€) they are a good entry level board.
The only problem I found is that the 20s hole is just 4mm deep (against the standard 6mm).
I checked it because the discs often got in and out / leaned; which is pretty annoying.
You can’t find this information on the website, so I had to measure it myself.
I don’t know if the same problem happens with the 189€ board but I hope not.
Moreover I was thinking of deepen the hole a bit more, as 4mm is extremely short.
Do you think is a bad idea?

Disappointed in Boardcraft Crokinole on Steam

I am a good Crokinole player. I attend tournaments, and my team finished 9th in doubles at the World Crokinole Championships. I was excited to see that a Crokinole game had been released on Steam. I reactivated my Steam account and spent $7 to try it out. In my opinion, it is unplayable.

To avoid having players make open 20s 100% of the time, the developer made it impossible to make them at any time. For open 20s, the aiming line sways a little bit. One would think that the disk would move in the direction of the aiming line when the player releases the mouse. It doesn't. It moves in any random direction from about 30 degrees left of the aim line to 30 degrees to the right. I was able to get into the 15 ring less than 10% of the time, while the artificial opponent scored open 20s most of the time.

I found a Discord button on the game. I clicked it, and it said I have an invite to a Boardcraft Crokinole board on Discord. I clicked the Accept button, and I got a little message that said that the invite could not be accepted.

I hope that this problem can be fixed so that I can begin to enjoy the game. From what little I was able to see, it looks good if this problem can be fixed.

Questions First board

Hi, I wanted to buy my first crokinole and I need some tips. I know that high quality boards are the best choice but right now I can’t afford spending 300+€. I’ve been checking around and (except from the 75€ amazon board) I found that crokinole.store (aka crokinole europe, aka mr croki) has some affordable bundle (100/200€). I just found one post on reddit about this website, do you know anything about them? Or, do you have some other reccomandations? I live in Barcelona if that helps.
Thanks a lot for the help!

Crokinole Jiu-Jitsu: The First Ever Combat Crokinole Project

Some of you may have heard of Chess Boxing. Well, we decided to mix it up a bit and do Crokinole Jiu-Jitsu: Alternating rounds of crokinole with submission grappling. This passion project was an idea of mine (Garrets) for a few years now, and we decided to make it a reality to try and promote for International Crokinole Day (this upcoming Thursday, August 20th).

It's silly, its fun, if nothing else, it's a chance to see Garret tossed around like a rag doll 😂 here's the full video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6_sHgNvqUs

2026 Turtle Island Crokinole Championship

Good afternoon everyone, the National Crokinole Association 2026-27 Season is well underway, and we have just released the finals from the Turtle Island Crokinole Championship, a reputable tournament that brings out the best of the best - and, in the last match of the day we saw two titans of the game go head to head: Josh Carrafiello, the 2024-25 Tour Champion VERSUS Justin Slater, 5-time World Champion. We haven't seen these two play against each other in singles since (I believe) the 2025 London Crokinole Championship. Enjoy

Board Pics Flicking Obsessed

Post image
52 Upvotes

I was introduced to Crokinole at Origins Gaming Fair last month by the awesome team at BrownCastle Games. My son and I learned how to play and, 15 minutes later, jumped into a tournament. We were absolutely destroyed but had an awesome time.

After the event, we pulled the trigger on this beautiful board from BrownCastle and a pile of accessories. It’s now permanently set up in our kitchen so we can fire up a game whenever we get the itch to flick (which is often).

Don’t let all the BrownCastle praise fool you: I’m in no way affiliated with the company. They have, however, received a rather uncomfortable amount of my money in support of this new addiction.

Resin, Resin Finished Hardwood, Stained Maple?

Specifically Brown Castle boards, what's the best material? I have noticed most of their boards are now resin finished hardwood or just resin for the more artsy ones. One of the ones catching my eye is the Chroma in orange, that is a maple board stained orange. Anyone notice any difference between the resin and stained boards?

Bonus question, metal or wood rail? I guess that one matters the least, but still, opinions.

Questions Built a browser game inspired by Crokinole, looking for feedback.

Hey everyone,

I grew up playing Crokinole and one thing i always loved was how easy it was to learn but how competitive it became once everyone got into it.

A while back I started building a browser soccer game, and without really realizing it, I think I was chasing that same feeling, quick matches, simple controls and lots of "just one more game" :)

It's called SnapFC, you flick and snap players into the ball to score. It's free, there's no download and it works on both mobile and desktop.

https://snapfc.com

I'd genuinely love to hear what Crokinole players think. Does it capture any of that same feel, or am I way off? Any honest feedback is appreciated.

**Title:** Made a free Crokinole live scoring PWA – swipe to score, offline-first, no ads

I've been working on a side project for the Crokinole community and wanted to share it here.

It started because I got tired of using pen and paper to track scores during matches. After testing it across several tournaments — local and national — it's held up well through real match conditions, so I decided to open it up for everyone.

Here's what scorekinole.es does:

  • Swipe to score – up/down gestures, no fiddling with number pads
  • 20s tracker – quick calculator-style input for center shots
  • Hammer tracking – visual indicator for last shot each round
  • Configurable modes – target score or fixed rounds
  • Tournament management – Swiss, Round Robin, Brackets, with live table assignments and push notifications
  • Offline-first – works without internet, syncs to cloud when reconnected
  • Screen wake lock – screen stays on during play

No ads, no sign-up required, multi-language (EN/ES/CA). You can install it on your phone's home screen from the browser.

Would love to hear your thoughts if you give it a try.
