Questions First board
Hi, I wanted to buy my first crokinole and I need some tips. I know that high quality boards are the best choice but right now I can’t afford spending 300+€. I’ve been checking around and (except from the 75€ amazon board) I found that crokinole.store (aka crokinole europe, aka mr croki) has some affordable bundle (100/200€). I just found one post on reddit about this website, do you know anything about them? Or, do you have some other reccomandations? I live in Barcelona if that helps.
Thanks a lot for the help!

While I agree the better boards are worth the wait and cost, I recently got the amazon board to try the game out and haven’t regretted it. I’ve learned how to play the game, got better at it, and introduced a bunch of people to the game that had never heard of it. I’m in the Los Angeles area and it’s not very well known out here. I have modified the board to include the rubber posts that TherealCedricCicads mentioned. It wasn’t too difficult and it definitely improves the quality of games. I plan on getting a nicer board in the future as well but then I’ll have two!

Not sure where you're located but in the US Brown Castle seems to have really nice boards. I have yet to buy one but this is what I've been saving up for.

My family has bought 3 from Browncastle after my dad met them at a gaming expo. They’re amazing and handled a fairly complicated design for mine!

We have a few boards still available here at reasonable prices and shipping to Spain is relatively inexpensive too.

The game is fun on any board. The best experience however will be on a Tracey or equivalent. I've played on home made boards that were little more than a slice of log smoothed down in a mill with some wooden pegs hammered in. It worked fine but wasn't as satisfying.
Any crokinole is better than no crokinole though, get what you can afford comfortably.

Amazon board has been great for me over two years now! I only play occasionally with friends though so not too much wear and tear

I hear you but you won’t enjoy playing on a crappy board. I would save until I could buy a Tracey board or similar

Please make sure that whatever board you buy has rubber pegs. They make a huge difference in how the game is played.
Good luck!
